Balloon catheter five day radiation

Anybody been throught this type radiation. Balloon catheter is painful anyone else

    I did the mammosite radiation back in 2004. The catheter is uncomfortable and a bit awkward. Difficult to find a comfortable sleeping position as well. But the treatment is 5 days and mine was probably in for about 9 days as it was the holidays, but it's not that bad when you think about the longer course of external beam rads.

    I had the APBI radiation (accelerated partial breast irradiation) which is similar to the mammosite. It was inconvenient having to go 2x/d and sleeping uncomfortable but definitely worth not having to go daily and have healthy skin burrned.

    I did brachytherapy and found it to be pretty much of a breeze, other than the rash I got from the tape holding the catheter in place. The biggest hassle was not being able to shower.

    I did brachytherapy, too - with a SAVI catheter. It was uncomfortable, but only having radiation for one week 2x a day was worth it for me.
