Gritgirl, thanks cor th kind words? you're so right! An hour of weeding beats n hour of eating! Maybe weekends are your down time? In any event, you did garden for a bit, that counts. Right now, I'm doing more than I really want (no one here did the dishes, I did them all weekend, scooped the cat litter, took out the trash, and made my own meals. No pampering around here for me! What am I thinking, that I deserve to be waited on just because I had surgery the other day? Silly me!)

Mara, yay, wasn't this a Wimbledon tennis record? You get a work out watching the game?

Hi second you take it a bit more easy and look after yourself. I wish I could help would love to cook you a meal. I am just cooking a full English breakfast your welcome to join us. It has got so warm here that good breakfast keeps us all going until late evening.

Gritgirl glad it cooled a little and you managed to do some weeding your welcome to come to breakfast as well.

    Take care

    Count me in too!

It was so hot here today! even too hot to jog in the pool. DH and I went and walked around Lowe's home improvement store. Air conditioned and not as much temptation as the mall. Also it has wide aisles and no one pays any attention to you.

Ginnger. Good for you on the air conditioned walk.

2nd time. Glad you got sleep.

Finally cooled down enough today for me to get the dogs out for a walk. They were getting restless. Hate the heat.

Ginger, that's the way to do it - walk in the A/c, will need to keep that in mind.

Gritgirl, I'm sure the fur babies appreciated getting out.

I will need a pass for exercising for a while. PS said today I need to stop using my arms as they need to heal. No walking as that also interferes with healing and it hurts! I never thought to ask PS about the details of revision surgery recovery, just estimated time (couple of weeks). She laughed, like I didn't ask so she didn't give me details. Silly me! I need to stay away from the kitchen!

Mara, where are you headed for your holiday?

Gritgirl, glad it's cooling down a bit in DC.

I'm in NYC this week for Sloan-Kettering visit. Forecast for heat isn't too bad.

    Hi Tarheelmich

I am off to Scotland and Ireland need to stay in the UK, because insurance is almost impossible to get.

. Grit girl. I know Scotland is full of hills but they also have a lot of ski lifts to help me get to the top.

Mara, hope you have a wonderful vacation. It sounds like a lovely trip. I've never been across the pond but hope to one day. Enjoy those green hills!

Today was a low key day.

Tomorrow I have an MRI of the spine. Making me sick nervous. Prayers needed.

    Mara. Have a wonderful vacation.

Mara-have a great holiday. Not sure what I'd do without the AC.

2nd time- just rest and take it easy so you can heal.

Tarheel- hope you get to enjoy NYC.

Gritgirl- sending some strength your way for your scan.

Today I swam at a friend's lake. It was hard on my arms and they are achy tonight. But I know it is good for my lymphedema to swim because the water adds compression.

today I walked from the free on-street parking to my support group meeting--4 blocks each way. Yesterday my niece (who was in town over the weekend for a Frisbee tournament) helped me load a few items into my car, and I too those down to the house yesterday. Tomorrow, more boxes! It is really looking like a house that's being-moved-out-of around here.

Gritgirl, I'm thinking about you. You have a lot of sisters here holding your hand and sending you strength to calm those nerves.

Thanks everyone for well wishes. I had a PET scan yesterday at Sloan-Kettering and will get results on Friday.

Today I push mowed for 2 and 1/2 hours. Sweated like a dog and decided that lawns are highly over rated!

DH had shoulder surgery so now I am responsible for all the outside jobs.

Ginger. That's a lot of exercise.

I've done little today. I was busy being stuck into a tube. :-)

I should hear by Friday. For me anything can be a sign of cancer. My dislike of Brussels sprouts could be cancer. It's nerve wracking.

    Hugs coming your way!

No exercise today...unless hauling the cat (and carrier) to the vet counts.

And it does count, Ginger, it does.

Got more steps in today, but still too hot in DC.

@Ginger48, how big is the cat? Wink

More boxes for me today. I took a load of my mom's from the house to the storage unit, and a load of mine from the storage unit to my new place.

Ginger, I would say that taking the cat to the vet in the carrier is definitely exercise! I am hoping to get started a little more next week. Unfortunately I had a drain put back in which is limiting me a bit, but I am trying to walk more at work (taking the stairs more than the elevator--sometimes!). We are going on vacation tomorrow, so I will be doing more walking and hopefully biking. Can't wait to get to the beach!

Gritgirl, heard anything about your MRI? Hope it was good news.

My PET scan kind of sucked but since this is an exercise thread, I'll keep on topic and say the doctor said any exercise I felt like doing is great. In other words, as long as I'm not in pain, I am not causing harm to my bones/lungs by jogging.

Been walking a lot in NYC. It's 73 and almost chilly when the wind blows. Very nice walking weather.

Tarheel? Bad news? I'm so, so sorry.

Hitler in Heels called and said spot was stable. That spot was never cancer, but an injury. Hope to not have that scan again.

Today was another medical day so that meant walking to doctor office. At least there's one good thing about medical days.

Today I walked a few blocks and back from work so I could get a library card. We go on vacation and the Carnegie Library in Pittsburgh has e-books. Thought it would be good to get the card so we can get Kindle books to read on the beach.....farther than I had walked in one setting for a while. Felt good but tonight I am TIRED....likely a combo of not sleeping well last night, taking a good brisk walk at lunch, and trying to wrap things up at work after only being back for two weeks. Rhode Island, here I come......seaside sunset tomorrow night!

Curveball- my cat weighed in at 20 pounds...the dr called him rubenesque!

Rhody-sorry about the drains; I really disliked mine. They were in for 3 weeks but felt like forever. Hope your vacation is good. We love the RI beaches. We go to Watch Hill and Misquamicut/Westerly. They are about an hour from us. Going to get hot again next week so it will be lovely there.

Gritgirl- you have a good attitude!

Tarheel- sorry about the scan! Glad NYC is a little cooler right now.

I took my DH to PT, went to a dr appt, got my hair done, did the grocery shopping and cooked dinner. Took my DD to a show at a local theatre. No time for exercise...

Hi Ginger, we go to Narragansett. I have a funny story about Misquamicut...a few years ago we drove to RI and my daughter was playing with her GPS. The voice on it said "miss qwa meek it".......so now we named her GPS Miss Qwa Meek It!"

Those of you not familiar with the area: it's pronounced "miss qua mih cut"

Gritgirl, I'm glad there was no bad news about the MRI. I hope that's the last one you'll ever need, and that your walks to your doc are pleasant. I have a few blisters from walking in a new pair of shoes but happy that I felt good enough to walk while in NYC.

I enjoy reading about everyone's active travel adventures and (possibly inactive) fat cats.

    Envious about everyone's vacations.

Chill weekend. Got tetanus shot on Friday. Ouch
