I used to really like the campfire thread where we pretended we were on the wagon train.

So in honor of this hideously hot humid summer...welcome to my igloo where chocolate is always on the house. Brrrrrrr!!!!

No sooorry was just joking, but its been Coooold ...so brrrrrrr. I much prefer this cold weather to hot summers as peripheral neuropathy and summer arn't a good combination. I feel sorry for you gals enduring this horrible heat. UGH!!

In the South Island they very well might or should I say could have igloos as recently theres been the heaviest snow dumps in decades. We'll have snow in the NI today....not where I am though. The fires all stoked up.... and Im waiting for some chocolate to come my way...lol

Ohh, s'mores! With the fire all stoked up you can make s'mores, Musical! Please use a square of dark chocolate for mine. Thanks! I do have an ulu that I use for all kinds of cutting chores, and I always think about how it's used to scrape polar bear hides. So, as soon as I get this hide scraped we can all wrap up in it.

    Brrrr!

Musical, you put a marshmellow on a stick over that fire, turn it slowly until it's really nice and melty (careful! don't burn it!), and then you put it onto a graham cracker square that's been covered with a thin square of chocolate. You top it with another graham cracker square, squishing the marshmellow into the chocolate so it melts it, and you've got yourself a rich, luscious...uh...meal.

The reason they're called S'mores is because everybody says, "Can I have s'more?!"

    Enjoy!

LOL LOL Binney,  I've heard hubby talk about these toasted marshmellows, but Ive never done it. I don't have a sweet tooth but I do love choccy.

Heres a goer ...summer winter autumn spring lol...We have a brand of icecream  in NZ which is creamy and utterly delectable and NOT TOO SWEET! Their chocoalte icecream is "something else", but Ive ditched it because it all has soy in it. Frown .  The ONLY way it is safe in my house is to not have it at all (soy or not)  Anyway I've recently heard theyve taken a lot of the "additives" out of it. Im thinking ....Should I check it out?  Ignorance might very well be bliss in this case LOL.

Seriously, we had smores at my house today.  I did not partake, but visiting family including five children ate the treat with great relish.  Never mind the 86 degrees part of the story!  No igloo here...

Even the mods want into my igloo....I like s'mores with banana not chocolate...they taste like amazing banana cream pie and really don't have that many calories. I love snowshoes too. And maybe a nice beef frank over the fire. I love how when it's really cold the sky is clear.

    Brrrrrrr...................where are my earmuffs?

I heard a news atricle the other day about a bar in NYC made completely with ice. Cookies igloo?? The walls, ceiling, floors, the bar, chairs, sofas, glasses for cocktails, artistic ice carvings. 95$ gets you 1 cocktail, gloves and scarves, fur coats (faux), and I'm assuming you can stay as long as you can stand the 23 degee F air. I'll buy the second round of brandy. Who's in?

    Lets stay cool............................brrrr......Maureen

It's called Minus5 and is located at the Manhattan Hilton

All heat emitting devises must be left at the door ie cellphones, etc. Do we fall into that catagory because of hot flashes?

chef127 - I'd pay to eat in that igloo!  Smile  And no, you don't have to be left at the door!  Come on in!

Musical - I'd be there if I could.  I would love to visit sometime.  I must go visit the hobbits and the elves!  Smile  Here is a link to some soy free chocolate I've found.  My favorite is the Ecuador Dark.  http://equalexchange.coop/products/chocolate

Fourth straight day of heat indexes over 100. Only thing good about it is that last year we were like 30th consecutive day of over 105.  Tongue Out  Thanks, cookiegal for this igloo.  Kiss

Dawne-Hope, you can toast your marshmallow without a fire. And that's about the only good thing I can think of for a heat index over 100!

Actually, you can also make sun tea and dry figs. But I'd trade all that free-for-the-taking solar energy right now for a day in Cookie's igloo!

I watch Buying Alaska on Destination America ....there is a rain forest part of Alaska with no snow....how disappointing. So what are we going to do inside this igloo? We can have Hawaii style shave ice.
