quick question
Can a person have IBC without the pain or redness and itching? Maybe in the early stages perhaps...

Hello justhavinfun. Until members post with their experiences, you can learn more about IBC in the in Symptoms of Inflammatory Breast Cancer article, at the main Breastcancer.org site. This is part of Inflammatory Breast Cancer section, where you'll find much more information about IBC.
Best wishes,

For me, one night I found a very enlarged lymph node under arm that had not been there the night before. My PA was on vacation so it took me a week to see her. During that time, nipple had inverted. I saw her at 11 on Thurs and by 1 that afternoon I was at radiology for a new mammo (last done 2 months before), immediately followed by a sono and biopsies. Both my PA and raiologist said they were sure it would be IBC and the next morning path report confirmed they were right. In the 2 weeks til I started chemo, I had no pain, 'itchiness' or redness. Did have overall enlargement of breast.
You have to remember that we are each so unique that there is no "One Size Fits All" for any of us.
edit added - I did develope peau d'orange skin (the texture of it) but there was no redness before starting chemo.

Thank you Bonnie your post r very helpful. I think I will print out some info on this to make sure he is informed. Mine went in stages (and I'm not saying I have it cause I know it could be just about anything) first was the mammograms without a lump then a few days after I was told they didn't see anything on an US a lump appeared then a few days after that my r breast was bigger then the left then it wasn't for a couple of weeks til I noticed my r armpit the whole thing not just a lump was bigger than the left then about 3 days ago I noticed that my whole right side to my waist is bigger than the left....I look so uneven lol not to sound sick but it's rather funny to look at..but it also may not even be any cancer but something is not right. With writing and asking questions on this board I just want to arm myself for my drs apt today cause with reading it goes undiagnosed so much. I am going to insist on an mri today cause I was already told that he won't do a biopsy if he feels it's not necessary. THANK YOU so much for all your help and guidance it is so appreciated...God bless you and lots of prayers and hugs sent your way.
