    Beautiful Lisa.

Yesterday DD1 handed in her thesis and received the piece of paper saying she had been awarded her DMA - Doctor of Musical Arts.

Yes I am proud but absolutely exhausted because she then had to pack for a conference in Brisbane Australia. She was very tired and as her cousin was house sitting/cat minding she insisted on cleaning the whole house. DD actually has epilepsy and  I was worried about her as she was very stressed so helped by cleaning bathroom, kitchen and vacuuming while she sorted herself out. Hope she gets some time for herself now as this has been three and a half years hard work.

Must go as I am having coffee with a friend very soon.

Alyson, congratulations to your daughter.!  I worked in an academic department of a local university and know how much hard work goes into getting a doctorate degree.

Congratulations to your daughter, Alyson.  Hope she has a great trip too!

Elisimo AJ, good to see you again!

Beautiful pics, Lisa.  Your neighbor sure does have a green thumb.  I know you don't get much rain there, but here in NC we've had more than enough lately.  Today is the first day in 16 that we've not had major rain, but the day's not over yet!

    Hi girls!

Lisa I love Frangipani.....the smell is heavenly!  I wish I could grow it here but I think it gets too cold in the winter for it to survive........we often have deep frosts so I have a feeling that is the reason I don't see them in the area.  A little further north/west as long as the area is sheltered they seem to do okay.

Congrats once again on your DDs achievement Aly.

We have had a lot of rain this winter.......not a bad thing but its been so dry for many years we are beginning to feel as though we will be washed away.....lol......but it is the norm we have just forgotten. Today was actually beautiful as the sun was shinning but a typical winter sunshine that had very little warmth to it.

    Have a great day all!

    Love n hugs.   Chrissy

Just had a great dinner with my DH and number 4 GS to celebrate DHs 66th birthday and our 44th wedding anniversary. The rest of the family will be with us on Sunday and then we will be going to the local Italian Restaurant to continue the celebrations. Looking forward to seeing everyone in one place........lol.

Hoping your day was as nice as mine.

What a clever way to make sure he remembers the date. Congratulations!!! When DS married, we marveled that both parent sets were on their first marriages. It's becoming so rare.

Congratulations on your anniversary, Chrissy, and happy birthday to your DH!  Glad you're having a good time celebrating.

And the rains continue here in NC.  I've never seen it rain so much, and for so many days in a row.  Not a constant rain, but intense showers (often 2 or more inches).  The heat's not too bad but the humidity is horrible.  The ground is so saturated that we're hearing about huge trees toppling over, which concerns me very much since our house is surrounded by trees.

DD and SIL plan to come over here tomorrow evening and have DIL take "pregnancy pictures" of them.  Pregnancy pics must be a new thing--it would never have occurred to DH and me when I was pregnant.  But I suppose it's now or never since DD's due Aug. 17.

Lisa, loving the pictures!  I've never seen frangipani but what a beautiful little flower.

Hope all have a good weekend!

Lisa - love the pictures.  They are so good I can almost smell them.

Kathy - We are getting the same kind of rain here in Raleigh that you are.  DH is ready to build a raft!  At least all the kids got to go to the pool this afternoon. So I got a few hours of quiet.

I have had a bad sinus infection for the last week and about the time I think I am getting better I start coughing again.  This week I start the Zometa and I am a little anxious about that, the SEs from the tamoxifen have not been too bad so far, just renewed hot flashes that wake me up soaking wet.  I go through more pjs.

Chrissy - So glad you had a nice anniversary and celebration for DH birthday.  I know you enjoyed seeing everyone in one place.

Hope everyone had a good weekend.  AJ

Good to see you, AJ!  Sinus things in the summer should not be allowed to happen--insult to injury.  Hope all goes well with the Zometa, and just curious, is the Tam. new or have you been on it a while?  My sister takes that, but I take arimidex.  Don't like that either.  Hope your infection clears up very soon too.

The pregnancy pictures did not happen, due to rain of course.  They're now hoping for Tuesday and the forecast is hopeful, calling for 2 rain-free days.  We'll feel like Noah did when the rainbow appeared! DD has her last monthly doctor visit tomorrow with weekly visits from here on, so it's getting closer and closer.  Can't wait!

AJ you take care with you sniffles.........just maybe a SE and not sinus at all. You know I'm on the Femara but need to take a claratin every day to stop the sneezes and runny nose........just a thought.

Kathy, I can feel the excitement building from here!.......lol. A new baby no matter what it is, is always welcome...........they are such wondrous parcels of joy all wrapped up in the softest, cuddliest little package! Ya just got to love them no matter what!

Well, DGS has been returned to his mum and other gran.........by all accounts he had a good time which is the main things and wants to come visit again so that is also good......lol. Seen my GP and got all my scripts renewed and am now relaxing at DDs house where I'll be until late Friday as the colonoscopy/endoscopy prep begins Wednesday and then will be done on Thursday afternoon. I'm not looking forward to it but also hoping they will give me a few answers.

Anyway, hope you all have a great day!

    Love n hugs. Chrissy

Hugs Chrissy. The prep is definitely the worst part. Here you get happy juice for the actual test.

Wren, the doc told me he was going to knock me out and I would be out for about 45 mins........not worried about that as I've had so many knock outs I've lost count.......lol.....I'd be the worlds worse boxer if that's what we were talking about.......lol.  Now the prep is another matter, as you say definitely the worst of the whole thing, but I'm sure I'll survive it and as my GP say, I'll have a very well spring cleaned inner self.......hahahahaha!

    Love n hugs all!    Chrissy

Lisa I recon if we swallowed a pill that went through our system that the docs tracked would be easier but then if that little camera pill showed anything we would still have to do this drinking stuff so the docs could do what they needed so I guess there's just no getting away from it.......lol.......oh, love the pic of your foot and the pool and the garden!

    Chrissy,

I just recently had the endoscopy/colonoscopy and I don't know why but even the prep was not as bad as a previous one i had.  The endoscopy did confirm that I do not have celiac disease inspite of the fact that my oldest daughter has it and I seem to have most of her symptoms.  Some other minor things showed up but nothing too serious.  Good luck on Thursday......................sending warm thoughts your way.

Thanks Marianne, I doubt I have Celiiacs either but I do know I'm sensitive to it.  My younger sister has Celiacs and she suffers even if she has the slightest amount of gluten plus the problems I've been having has prompted the doc to check.  I must prefer eating gluten free as it makes me feel better, not so stoggy....you know what I mean?

Having my last meal and am finishing with some strawberries.....yummm.......nothing more other than clear fluids till after the tests.  Just think, I will probably loose another kilo or two.....yay!!!!

    Have a great day all!

    Love n hugs.    Chrissy

    Chrissy:

While doing a search on here I saw an old post from you where you said you used a natural anti-inflammatory for pain.  Can you tell me a little about it?  I worry about liver damage when using Aleve or Ibuprofen too often.

Marianne, I use both Curcumin and Boswellia. Curcumin is extracted from Tumeric so is from a spice and Boswellia is from the bark of a tree. They will work alone but better if used in concert. There are no SEs other than your motion being a bit yellow as the color from the Curcumin goes through your system and they do definitely aid in pain relief from inflammation. If you decide to try them, like all natural medicine they will take a little time to build in your system so it may be a couple to a few weeks before you notice any difference........but if you do, have that patience as the benefit is worth it. Hope they do good things for you.

Kathy all done although I don't and won't have full results until biopsies come back. The GI had a problem getting the scope all the way through so was sent for a virtual colonoscopy by CT. Now that's an interesting experience to say the least........anyway, I don't have those results either so now it is a waiting game.........I will just have to think alls good until told otherwise.

    Have a great day all.

    Love n hugs. Chrissy

Oh no! I was so afraid that something like that was going on as we didn't hear from her for so long. May she rest in peace.

Thanks 3jays for letting us know.
