ILC and Brain Mets

Hi there -

My mother was diagnosed with Stage IIIB ILC back in November and just finished chemo treatment. She has had persistent, daily headaches since she started treatment in February that have not subsided since she completed treatment last month. She had a clean brain MRI in March but her neurologist has ordered a second one for tomorrow with a spinal tap.

I am wondering if anyone knows the statistics on ILC and brain mets. I have heard that this is not where ILC typically metastisizes, but I would love to hear any stories or info that you all have.

    I did have ILC,after 2 years went to brain a small tumor ,then had spianl done it was also in my spinal fluid.I has been 2 years since then.Hope all comes out good with mom.

    M2loomis, was your mother's cancer HER2+? This could be a factor in likelihood of the cancer spreading to the brain.

    Hoping for good results from your mom's scans.
