Negative but I am going to research where to get it from.  I currently juice cannabis leaves with carrots.

I am getting my medical marijuana card next week.  I am going to start oil then in low doses to see how it affects me.

I've been using it for years now. The first 3 years were a gram a day.  Now only about 1/4gm a day.

Melissa, how did you decide when to reduce your dose?

There seems to be something I read somewhere here on the boards that indicates hemp oil is not the same as cannabis oil which is the "cancer fighter" and of course illegal in most states.

I saw my oncologist today for the first time.  He spent 2 hours with me.  I was so impressed.  He told me there is a good chance I am cancer free.  He is doing an oncotype test.  That will pretty much determine everything for me.  If is low chemo will be more harmful than good.  Either way I am still going to use cannabis as soon as possible.  No room for risks.  I might just do the cannabis capsules with buds/CBD like Joey did and not use the RSO.  I truly don't want any "highs".  I did a ton of research and believe it is the same.  The only real thing I could see is that if you at stage IV the oil would be the best.  Will wait and pray for low onco score.......

Congrats to you Jabal!! Thank you all for your replies!! The reason I have asked this is because a friend of mine has just started taking the (cannabis) oil.. she is stage IV with it in her liver and her bones.  She is on Xeloda chemo and we were wondering if anyone has done the oil in conjunction with chemo and if so what were your results?  The chemo has been keeping her liver mets at bay, so when she gets her next CT scan we are curious to see if the oil has made any difference (shrinkage).  She would love to come off of the chemo and just do the oil.  I am optimistic Smile

Hemp oil is oil made from the buds of the marijuana plant either by a complicated method you can find on youtube or by using coconut oil and high grade marijuana.  De-seed the marijuana and using a mortar and pestal, not anything that will absorb, bruise the marijuana buds into the coconut oil.  You might need to soften the oil a little but the melting point is around 70 degrees, so just a few seconds in the microwave.  So use a couple tablespoons of oil to start and pour about an 1/8 ounce of marijuana in at a time just mixing and bruising, not crushing or destroying, to get the oils out.  keep adding oil and marijuana until it's all mixed.  Then store the jar, a mason jar works well, in a warm area so that the oil stays soft or liquid.  Swish it around once a day.  Leave it for a week or more if you can and then strain the oil out through cheesecloth.  This is not as strong as the complicated method you can do on the internet that uses all kinds of chemicals and can be dangerous but it's better then nothing.

Do not confuse hemp oil with hemp SEED oil.  They are not the same thing.   While hemp seed oil is good for you like omega 3's, it's not the hemp oil that fights cancer.  There is a lot you can read on this subject on the internet.  It's natural and I think worth a shot especially if you're stage 4 like me.  I'm also giving the baking soda, maple thing a whirl.

I began using cannabis oil about three months ago. I am using it in conjunction with traditional western therapies (Taxol, surgery, Herceptin). So far, thank god, my stage four body has responded well to everything, though my initial success was thanks to western treatment, only. I added the cannabis oil to my regimen *after* six months of chemo and subsequent surgery. Not during. Now I am using it while I am also on a maintenance program with Herceptin. So far so good (knock on wood). Too early to say what the oil is or isn't doing. I still have faith in it and I am grateful to live in a state where medical marijuana is legal....although, (fyi?), there is a company in Colorado that markets three CBD products that have the THC removed so they do not make you high. I've used their non-THC products as well as a traditional THC oil made by a dispensery in my state.

Maybe someone could help me with this.I was under the impresion that you need to have 60 grams in 90 days or about 3/4 gram per day so you ned to build up to it.I have never heard of drying the bud and put it in capsules I thought you have to have it in the oil form to be potent enough.so you are not supposed to get 'high' on the oil? Oh yes you can but more of a body buzz it lasts a couple of hours but I dont smoke anything so I put barely a drop on my finger and wash it down with peanut butter lol but I get a buzz, kinda makes it hard to build up to the amount you need when I still get high from the minute amt I take.I know someone who is a huge pothead and tied to do 3/4 gram and got wasted so I just dont think l can get up to the healing amt.Anybody got the answer?

I tried the hemp oil when i was first diagnosed but could not tolerate being high out of my mind.  I don't like to be high.  I tried working my dose up but started with a tiny bit a day about the amount on the tip of toothpick dipped in the oil never coudl tolerate more thant that.  I think its great to help you relax and sleep. But I don't believe it in it for shrinking tumors.   I put off chemo for a long time and went vegan started juicing with  hemp oil  had a few lumpectomies.  Ended up with another tumor in same breast and lymph nodes under my arm with cancer too.  Now i'm going for Chemo Thank the Lord its hasn't metastisized yet.  I'll take the oil to help me sleep and get through the chemo. Its awesome for that. I don't think there is a over the counter drug that will help as much as the hemp oil to help you relax.  I'm starting chemo (TCH) next week and going to try the Penquin ice caps to see if i can keep my hair.   love to hear form anyone else trying this.

I wish you all the best LeslieVilla!! I hope chemo is going well for you!! I have tried the oil myself now and find that it is a great help with sleeping.  I find that a little at the end of a toothpick is all I need.  I sometimes have headaches since trying it and wonder if it is from the oil.. has anyone else gotten headaches from it?

Also LeslieVilla I believe there is a thread for people that are using the ice caps.. there was when I was going through chemo (bald)Tongue Out

I have been researching cannabis oil, and that is the one thing that scares me - the high. If I go the alternative route after surgery and just do the hemp oil, there is no way I can be high during the day. Work, driving a car - not good things to do when you're high. =)

Does anyone have tips about avoiding the high? How to prevent it?

I'm liking what I'm reading about it. I want to know all my options.

I tried it as well. An amount the size of a rice grain sent me over the edge. I wished it would have helped. I ended up taking Xanax until I was able to focus. I've known others to use it as well, with success in getting through chemo; not as an alternative therapy to eliminate cancer.

    Good luck to all!

I'm telling you ladies forget all the anti nausea meds, vicodin and addictive vailum and other crap  they give you and smoke pot or take the hemp oil.   I just finished my first round of TCH Ugg  the Neulasta shot I gave my self on day 2 post chemo nearly killed me was unable to get out of bed for 36 hrs my wan't nauseous but head my hurt, my chest was tight, heart hurst, neck hurt, and my PORT hurt,  was dehydrated and constipated despite the gallons of water and sennkot (laxative). Day 4 I called the hospital, Nurse said to get out of bed and keep moving, this is all becase of your neulasta shot. she told me to take some valium advil and call her back I remembered about pot and hemp oil for cancer.  Smoked pot that day immediately my life went from torture to thankfulness.  I was much more pleasant to be around too.  I felt good and better than i would have from taking any prescription medication.  the hemp oil helps me sleep and rest too. dosing is the hardest peopel always take too much and get way too high.  I do not think Hemp oil cures cancer but I do think the cannabanoids do positive things for your brain I sugggest taking something thinner than a tooth pick to dip into the hemp oil  (so dosing :  like a needle non sharp end and tip into the hemp oil, pull it out till the ball runs off and dip just the tip in about a 1/8 inch into the oil-----

and put the tiny drop under your tounge (rub the tip under your tounge) you REALLY dont' need much. The oil lasts about 5 hrs and can take up to a hr to kick in so if you need a shorter window of relief and "feeling better time" you can  smoke some pot and it will help you too.  Some people don't like  smoke and smelling like pot. I have to say i'm one of them.  So in that case take the HEMP OIL it you can find some.  Your doctor will give you a medical marijuans perscription and there is a web site called http://wamm.org That will mail it to you once you have the perscription. good luck ladies!

I have a hemp oil vaporizor so I am not getting smoke. It has helped me a lot. However, I have had a big problem with the Decradon steroid dosage which put me on another planet...i was afraid to do anything except a xanax which brought me back down for a while. I'm real easy in taking the hemp oil which btw is not thc which gets you high, it is more like cbd and calming. mj butter is nice if you can get it.......peaceful.

ok anyone out there know what to do for the numbness in your/my fingers...they tell you you may get it but...what's a mother to do?!

This has been my 2nd chemo but much tougher to deal with than the last.

    Hello Abarret,

the neuropathy your getting (happens usually in hands and feet) can be minimized by taking L-Glutamine 1000 mg per day.    Also keep your hands and feet on ice packs during your chemo infusions it's suposed to help prevent neuropathy. I'm sorry your having sucjh a rough time.  but I'm glad you have the oil.  I only had one and its been awful, i'm so dreading the next one.  friend me if you need a friend to chat with.. HUGS!

I would like to friend you...how    I'm new here, Stage IIIA. I may have mentioned had 2 chemos and now i am going to schedule a mtg w/my oncologist because they totally screwed up on the Decradon dosage timing. Originall it was to be 6 chemos and they pushed it back to 4, I think because of my weight being 95lbs which is almost normal for me...or it couldf be my age?!

    And you???

I just sent you my email address if that's easier.  Perhaps you don't need the last two treatments are they testing to see how the cancer is responding to the chemo?  I'm getting TCH  supposed to be 6 rounds but its so hard I just emailed my onc to ask for an alternative.  I don't think i can make 6 rounds. I was terribly sick with this first one. Are you her2Nue positive?

I was able to get cannabis oil from a dispensary that is higher in CBD - the stuff that doesn't make you high. So far so good. I am taking a drop of the oil and putting it under my tongue. I chase it when raw Manuka honey because it tastes godawful. I am building my tolerance. I think it's OK because so far,  I'm not getting totally baked.

Hello! Thank you all for your posts. Leslie I especially appreciate your candor.

My father died from lung cancer 3 years ago and I was his medical mediator. He used marijuana (smoked and vaporized) and he was comfortable and happy until the very end and did not need a lot of nausea or pain medication.

Now that I have breast cancer, getting medical marijuana was one of my first goals. It helps me relax, be present, and pleasant, and I can control how much I use if I smoke it or use the cookies from the shop. I also have "cannabis sativa seed oil" that I found at a health food store. No idea if it's legit but it doesn't seem to get me high.

I use much less valium, much less tramadol when I use marijuana. So thankful I live in a place where I can access it medically. My oncologist and radiologist have no problems with it.

I am glad this post is here. I am considering hemp oil versus chemo...I have found lots on the interweb indicating it would do me well. I don't care if I'm high, I can deal. I just want to fight this Naturally and I am scared to death I will have to do chemo. I just started smoking weed again after many many years of not. I do know it does help with the pain, not to mention over all attitude.

How do I ask my onc for a prescription? I live in California, but I get so scared to ask this. Will they look at me like I am a druggy? I don't think I could handle that, because I'm not.

I guess my main concern is hemp oil over chemo....I don't want to die, but damn, chemo kills. So what do you do?

I am not here to push chemo over hemp oil as I have used neither. Chemo does not always kill (broad generalization) though it is undeniably very serious medicine with potentially serious side effects. Hemp oil may be useful, and I hope it is for you, but you are stage III so give whatever you do careful consideration. As to medical mj in CA, a doctors prescription should be easy to obtain simply by asking your mo. The social worker at my oncology center offered to take care of that, if I wanted, right after my initial dx. I live in northern CA. Wishing you the best.

    Integrative is..

    adj.

    1. Of or relating to integration.

    2. Tending or serving to integrate.

    3. Relating to a multidisciplinary, holistic approach to medicine that combines conventional treatments with alternative therapies such as homeopathy or naturopathy.

Sorry.. I don't mean for people to think that this is a chemo vs hemp oil question.  It is about using both chemo  in conjunction with hemp oil.

exbrnxgrl.. may I as what kind of treatment are you doing?

Does anyone know how to get medicinal grade hemp oil? From some of the posts I've read it sounds like it is legal in certain states? I was living in South Carolina and it was illegal there, everyone I talked to said it would coust me between 4 and 6 thousand dollars to get enough for a full treatment. I just don't have thhat kind of money. I'm in Ohio now, pretty sure it's not legal here either. I've heard a lot of good things about it, I just can't spend an arm and a leg

I had a really bad reaction to it when I took too much - ended up vomiting, paranoid, and in the ER. I changed dispensaries with that one. I think it was the amount of THC. The one I was on before had higher CBD, which does not give you the high.

Despite all this, I want to try again in the future. For now, I'm on 8000 mg. of Curcumin.

LeslieVilla - I'm so sorry chemo has been so hard on you.

sparkytheimp -  I used to think that they'd look at me like some stoner. They won't because cannabis helps so many conditions. If anything, you will get sympathy.

cburke51986 - It can be that much, as I paid about $50/gram. One dispensary I know of gives a bulk discount.

    Jan m,

Sorry to take so long to reply. My mom passed away on July 7th. I am on Arimidex and Aredia (which I'm almost done with). I also take a bunch of supplements which may or may not be doing some good.
