Triple negative Ki-67 96% stage 2a grade 3 4.6cm

Just met with oncologist yesterday. Triple negative with Ki-67 of 96% - that doesn't sound good to me! Recommending dose dense chemo 4 cycles of doxorubicin & cyclophosphamide, then dose dense 4 cycles of paclitaxel followed by radiation. Four months of chemo every 2 weeks sounds daunting. Would love to hear from others with similar dx and/or treatment!

    Many of us TNs had the same chemo as you are getting. I am now four years out from diagnosis. It sounds like a long time for chemo but it is doable. Not fun, but doable.

    LanaM: It does sound daunting, but once you are moving forward with chemo, you will see that it is doable as gilly says...expect a few unexpected turns along the way. You may want to ask your onc about weekly taxol; someone recently posted a study showing that weekly and biweekly were the same in efficacy, but weekly was gentler on neuropathy side effects which can be a problem for some women. Of course, that prolongs the chemo period too though.  

    The Ki-67 numbers can be eye-popping, but not unusual for TN. It's aggressive, which is why oncs like to throw the big chemo guns at it. Just know that the majority of TN women get through chemo and come out healthy on the other side. Best wishes to you.

    I am having the same chemo at the moment and it is doable but of course not great fun!

    Thank you all for the input! I'm trying to keep a positive attitude! It's nice to know there are others with same dx (or worse) that have kicked cancer to the curb! I'm determined to do whatever I need to do to do the same!

    I would get a second opinion pre chemo (asap) as I had two KI 67 scores from my two opinions and there was a 70% difference between them!

    Personally I don't think a second opinion is warranted. KI-67 scores don't matter much to TNs, you will get chemo notwithstanding. (My path report doesn't even show a KI-67 score.)
