Steph-YOU ARE BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...I hadn't even consider that!!  And then there are all those starving children to consider!  They can have my cardboard food!!  lol..

Catey-Well where have you been??? Are you doing ok??...Thats the thing..I was on 2000 mg antibiotic before surgery Fri before last..then they hung bag after bag of it..and now am on 1500 mg antibiotic..its not hurting..but does this pulsing thing when I drink hot or cold..I can't imagine how it will be when I finish antibiotics..Frown

Rhody- I hate to hear that you are having all the issues that you have had.  I've had the seroma and hopefully that has passed, but I know its horrible. I get my stitches (2nd surgery he used real) out Tues..and I'm praying everything holds..was almost 3 weeks post MX when seroma hit.  My surgeons nurse said that she had never heard of anyone getting it a second time that had had the whole surgery basically done for it..reopening..cleaning inside..he even flushed inside with something/the ones she says it comes back is when they try to do in office to just clear out dead tissue or pull fluid out with needle. (He wouldn't do needle thing with me..said would just feel back up and plus opening for infectioin)..which I already had.  I hope all goes well for you ..Peace and healing prayers and thoughts your way from me.

Hello Ladies. Sounds like everybody is continuing to take steps forward. Chinneymae, that's scary that a tornado was so close to you! Glad you are ok.

Have taken the advice of the doctor and am taking a half an Adivan before bed and for the 2 nights I've done it, I've actually slept pretty well for the first time in 6 weeks.

Most of my buzz cut came out in the shower last night. Another day and I'm done shedding!

    Just chilling now. Busy day.

    Have a lovely evening, everyone!

ANNIE-I am happy to hear you have been sleeping well! Nothing like a good night sleep..I tend to be less moody when I'm not rummy from lack of sleep!  Have a good night!

    HEATHER-Are you sleeping any better?

    MELANIE-Are you doing oK?

Good attitude Steph!  One thing at a time.  Celebrate that you don't need chemo.  Not that it's horrible, but it's lengthy, at least it was for me (almost 4 months)

Nope, was up all night last night. Got to sleep around four am and woke at eight am. Took about a two hour nap this afternoon. My wonderful mil got me some tylenol pms today so maybe that will help.

Sweetpickle, I started up my tylenol PMs in the past week.  have taken them for about 15 years to get to sleep.  Stopped when I was doing so many other drugs.  An ativan and two tylenol pm and I sleep pretty well.

I got my vicodin refilled today and the pharmacist warned about taking the tylenol pm to close to the vicodin because they are both tylenol. So pain relief or sleep seems to be my chose tonight. ugh

Heather-Thats what the doctor told me...solution-Motrin PM...he said that was ok..however, I did stop taking pain meds around 5-6pm.

Janet-You and I are the same..I've been taking Goody, tylenols PM's for about the same..15 years..I just got tired of fighting sleep..and I am not one of those people that can function without. I can't drive or anything..well not safely. I normally..and have started back now..take something over the counter..with PM attached to it and a Soma..which is a muscle relaxer but dr prescribes it to sleep (she knows my issues, and prescrip sleep aids. are costly and work same)..I even put Somas on my meds..and was given them in the hospital..with morphine..lol (they are not horribly strong)..not that it did any good..they wake you up 1000 times a night.

Still on diet..can feel quality of life dwindling...LOL..that still makes me chuckle!

I slept fine until I had my son.  Then I never could GET to sleep.  Once I am asleep, I am fine (or was until all this crap happened).  It takes 2 hours for the tylenol to kick in for me, so I take that about 10:00 and don't take my pain med until I go to bed.  Yea, I know, but sleep is more important than my liver right now (and I have to make up for not drinking alcohol anymore)

I'm celebrating this weekend, so I'll help you ALL "make up" for not drinking alcohol! Just a heads up, though: 2 is my limit, so y'all have to "share"! Lol!

Steph01: I am so happy for you!!

For sleeping, my neighbor had brought me some melatonin. It's natural and you can get it in the vitamin section. I believe it's 5mg. Anyway, I took one and it really helped me sleep.

Annie, I'm glad you were finally able to get a good nights sleep.

Hope you all have a wonderful 4th of July!!

Steph- NO SHARING!  Drink one for each of us!!  Is only fair!  I'll take a tequilla sunrise.  You have to drink what we like..lol..

Cyndy-I use to use that before the PM meds..it does work well but apparently if you take it every night for a year..it quits.

Janet-I did not know that about the liver...you should have told me 15 years ago!!  lol......I think no sleep is way worse on all your organs..plus your immune system doesn't work as well than damage to liver worries.  Funny, I was thinking about what you said about liver a bit ago..and I thought..."that will never happen to me"...says the one-breast-denial-wonder.

I'm turning it in. I think..no I know..I did a bit much today and am tired.

All ya'll having fun parties..have a great time and its wonderful that you feel and can do that!!  I'm excited for you..we will need details! ....we are going to Moms..probably gonna get some BBQ somewhere as is suppose to be poring rain all day.

Janet & Cyndie- I gave in and took a pain pill at 8pm, just to much for me. I guess that means I shouldnt take the tylenol pm until midnight. I was up a whole bunch this evening and even sat at the dinner table.

Steph- Hope you have lots of fun, have one for me. I havent touched any alcohol in 15 years.

I would think as long as you don't do it all the time, it should be fine in about 2 hours.  Did you just take one pain pill?

Sweetpickle-Im not sure about vicodin..my surgeon believes asprin ..aka..lortab..takes care of all pain.  Maybe wait 2 hours and take a half one. Or do you have any ativan? 1/2 one should help you sleep good. I am so glad you were able to get up and move some today! I sooo hope you sleep tonight. I think that will go a long way to help with your healing.

Steph, congrats on a low oncotype score. I pray that you will know what your next step will be.

I've been totally exhausted the past two days. I have no energy, I just want to drop when I get home from work and I can barely get a decent meal on the table. I've been listening to my body and am not pushing myself, but I hope I will snap out of it soon.

I hope everyone has a lovely Independence Day!

Ann take it easy.  I've been going to trader joes for months and picking up frozen food to heat up when I'm tired.  Screw the decent meal.  They have these awesome veggie nests that you bake in the toaster oven and taste like tempura.  And veggies are good for you.  SealedAnd their chicken tiki marsala is pretty good too.  Probably the best frozen snacks/meals anywhere.

Thanks Mel and congrats on the drop in your tumor markers!

Cyndie- I only have a few ativan left with no refill so Im saving them for when I feel super stressed.

Janet- I only take one vicodin now. I guess it would be ok to take tylenol pm in a couple of hours because my vicodin prscription says I can take two of those at a time if needed. I will most likely do that and take sleep med around 10pm here shortly.

Hope everyone has a good night tonight!

sweetpickle, you do realize that even when it says no refills, that they will give you more?  I would have been out of vicodin in January if not for asking for more.  Sealed

LOL yes but I have to find a PCP to get them refilled because Onc. And BS wont fill them again. They are funny about that with me because Im a recoverying alcoholic so I have to be careful with drugs that can be addictive. Down side is Dr.s can give you are hard time with pills like ativan. I dont have a primary provider right now so until I get one Im screwed. Its frustrating to be judged like that but I understand, if I was having a really hard time I would make a fuss about it.

LOL, love reading the banter here! Ladies, you keep me smiling.

Felt blah today bc I took 1 Senna Monday night to help with chemo constipation. Lets just say Tuesday was a very .... 'productive' day which left me wiped out today.

But, not one to let cancer kick me when I'm down, I took myself for a walk around my block at twilight. Light breeze, birds singing, sun setting. It was short but nice and got me out if the funk.

Now it's time to wind down. Night night.

PS. Ann, honey don't overdue it. Pamper yourself a bit to recover.

PPS. I like CKs idea of each of us putting in our drink order. Margarita with salt, please, Steph.

man, heather, never thought about that.  But I do get nervous every time I ask to get a refill on something.  I originally took ativan after my brother's death.  Took it for 4 years at night to sleep.  About 5 years ago my PCP cut me off.  It was really hard to sleep without it for a while.  I haven't been taking it but for about 2 months now, and hopefully I will have no problems stopping once rads are done and things settle down.

I haven't even seen my PCP since this all started.  I did hear from her about a month after my diagnosis.  She had just come back from leave (for cancer) and called me.  I need to go in and see her, not for anything in particular but to catch her up on everything.  Maybe once school is back in session and I have more time to myself.

Heather-Well you are right to hoard them!  Hopefully you will end up not needing them..and def don't take for sleep then..you can do tylenol later tonight and then have MIL get you motrin pm or maybe that new Nyquil that helps you sleep?  I'm not sure what it is in it..the old nyquil works too..although makes me sleep walk.

Mel-Congrats on tumor markers and that you are doing well.  Do you have plans for the 4th?

Ann-I'm sorry you have been tired. Take care of yourself.  Hopefully you don't have to work tomorrow. Remember-Papa Johns, Pizza Hut, Steak out, chinese=Delivery!

Good night..I know I said once..but got hung up watching The Notebook...what a great chick flick!..cut it off before the end ..do not need to cry anymore.

Sweetpickle, I take a half an Adivan and that helps me a little.

I wish I could make time pass by 6 weeks for you so you would feel less pain. Hang in there. I'm praying for you to wake up pain free. :)

Sweet pickle, I just put one and one together to get two as in: you haven't had any alcohol in 15 years plus you're recovering alcoholic equals CONGRATULATIONS! you're doing awesome!

When my prescribed sleep aid started to not work as well, my dr. suggested adding the melatonin. The sleep aid gets me to sleep, and the melatonin keeps me there until morning. :)

Ann, is there any chance that somebody else can cook once in a while? You really need to take it easy when you get that tired. Even though I've managed to be more active than some of the rest of you, I still sleep 10 to 11 hours every night, in my bed, with one drain. I haven't had so much trouble waking up in the morning since I was a teenager.

So here's the nice thing about my drinking habits: I have one or maybe two drinks once or maybe twice a month, so really it's more like 2 to 3 drinks a month. This keeps my alcohol tolerance low. It doesn't take much to make me "happy". So, Cyndie, what do YOU think will happen if I have one for each of us? (There's 12 of us, you know!) I'll give you a hint: if you don't hear from me on Sunday and Monday and Tuesday, you'll know I tried to drink one for each of you! Lol.

Steph, you don't need that kind of hangover.  I haven't had a drink since the weekend before Halloween last year.  And that was one glass of wine.  Used to drink, but really cut back about 9 years ago.  At this point, I dont miss it one bit.  Before chemo, I drank iced coffee from morning til night.  Now it's lemonade, water, juice.  I'm a wild woman.

Don't worry, I wouldn't really drink that much. My husband has cut me off after one before. I tend to get kind of silly. So, I'll drink what I want to drink, but will serve it in little shot glasses so that it's just a sip or two in each glass and I can have one for each of you. How's that sound?

Well, I'm falling asleep trying to think if there's anything else I want to say to you guys tonight. And I can't. So I'm going to sleep now and I wish you all an excellent slumber.
