Hmmm...one more interesting thought to add to the pile!  Aren't white blood cells increased after any surgery anyways, regardless of whether or not an infection occurs?

So is having the immune system attack the cancer cell a good or bad thing?

You have these trials going on where the protein (do I have this right?) CD47 is blocked so that cancer cells no longer have a "do not eat" signal ---- thus allowing the immune system to attack the cancer cells.

Well... is this a good thing or a bad thing?

What the heck is going on?
