edited June 2014 in Stage I Breast Cancer

I had a biopsy on a finding in my right Breast. Awaiting results.

Same breast that's had stage est+ starting the ninth year - took tamoxifen for5 yrs and

Had radiation. I guess I thought I would just go on and on - if it is malignant -radiologist

Same one as 9 yrs ago -says 50- 50 chance-last time she was right on the $ - said it definitely

Looked like cancer- it was So I was stage one lumpectomy and tamoxifen for 5 yrs and followed with Mammaos and mris.

So I wonder if there is a reoccurrence in same breast do they do mastectomy?

if that were so- I would really opt for both. Any feedback. I see my surgeon ( who I just happened to have. Check up appt in 4 days. Should have results by then -

that is the exact same thing i am wondering too. ultimately, i think it is your decision. all i know is they would not do rads again on a previously treated breast, but maybe surgury? i wish more informed women will answer for you, and i am sorry for you to do this.

Hi, the standard of care for a recurrence in the same breast is mastectomy (unfortunately) as radiation can't be done again there.

    I hope you don't have a recurrence.
