I never would have gotten through the last 6 months if not for pain meds. Been on them on and off (mostly on) since December. Not a ton a day, maybe 3 a day, 2 on a good day.
Yea, my stomach makes me look pregnant. Hate it, but I'm alive.
-
I think I am going to have to increase my meds, I had cut back to one vicadin but the pain lately has been bad.
Ckmoss- God blessed me with great inlaws to make up for the crappy parents I had, lol. Sad to say but I am closer to mil than I am my own mom. I hope you are able to get to the beach, I would love to get to the beach this summer! -
Hi ladies.. it's late, and I'm exhausted and I read every post to catch up on, but I must appologize for not answering everyone or responding to each of you. just know your ALL in my daily thought's and prayers.
so.. update on me: First I want to thank you all for your support regarding the incident with my mom. I have talked to her and well..it's all water under the bridge so to speak. Maybe next time I hope she will ASK me before jumping down my throat what's wrong/going on, and how I "should" be responding. But.. that's all over with.. not dwelling on it because I don't want that negativity to stay with me. Positive, positive, positive.. because well..... Chemo, that's what's next. Yup you heard me right.. Chemo. I start around July 12. 20 weeks. I should be ending Chemo right around Christmas. Ughhhh so not what I wanted or was looking forward to, but I'm doing what I gotta do to get rid and make sure this crap doesn't come back. The only reason I am having to do chemo is because the lil suckers started into the lymph nodes. If it would have left that alone... I would have been home free. I don't need any more surgery to get more nodes, which is a good thing. THEN I get the privilege of talking to a radiation oncologist. YUP you guessed it.. I might.. might be doing radiation too. Don't know about it all yet, but will find out when that time get's there. I am sooo emotionally drained after the past couple days.... i'm just..... tired. Thanks for being there gals.. and being there in the future to vent and chat to as needed, One of my few safe places that I can vent my real fears. Love you all. XXOO
off to fine the "July chemo board"
ohhh and one more thing. I know it my siggy is says ER-PR+HER2-... well.. the doc isn't happy with what they gave him.. so he's getting another opinion to verify it. He thinks I might be triple negative
UGHHHH! just not what I wanted to hear today either. ok.. time for my drug induced sleep. Thanks again.
-
Honeybunny- Ugh that stinks, so sorry you have to go through more treatment. Hoping that you don't come back triple neg.
-
HoneyBunny, sorry to hear what you may be facing. You're in my prayers.
-
Good Morning All! I hope everyone had a good nights sleep! I slept like a rock..right up to I dreamed my husband walked into my bedroom and said "Your arm is swelling". and walked out..In my dream, I kinda knew it was a dream..woke up right after and checked my arm. I know this comes from looking yesterday at where he "redid" MX ..its deeper in..think he went to chest wall, also, my reach is gone..I had been religiously doing my excercises and had most of my reach back..its all gone..and worse than after my MX..can barely reach up to wash my head...BUT today is my follow up with my surgeon..so maybe he can shed some light on that.
HoneyB-I hate you have to go through chemo..but think of it as cleansing your body of all those horrible cells.
GowiththeFlow-Note HoneyB's ref to maybe radiation...does she need link to song??? lol
SweetP-That is great about your inlaws! My husbands parents are both passed and have been for many years..so my mom is like his and he says God blesssed him with another..so I know thats a really good thing for you.
-
Oh ck, I've got a whole playlist on my ipod:
Rehab - Amy Winehouse
Ring of Fire - Johnny Cash
Beds are Burning - Midnight Oil (changed to breasts are burning)
And I am Telling you (I'm not going ) - Jennifer Holliday
I need to get my butt in gear. My rad is in an hour and I haven't showered. I hit the snooze bar this morning.
-
GoWith-Just watched your video..love your song list..however, here's where my head is now..I watching above video and thinking...I want her breast/cleavage...lol.. I have breast envy...I miss cleavage!!!!! Sweetpickle-with reconstructino..you have cleavage again dont you??...ok im crazy now.
-
Ckmoss- I sure do, its one of the only things that makes me glad I did this. I even have perky cleavage which I havent seen since I was 20. lol
-
Oh HunnyBunny I'm so sorry you have to go through this. My prayers are with you and we can encourage each other during chemo...I just started last week. You WILL get through this.
-
Thank you Suzanne, I have ILC and I am sched for BLM with TE on July 18th and you have given some really great advice and it helps to hear that there was not a lot of pain. Please keep blogging😄

Hi ladies. Heres hoping today is peaceful and painless for everyone. I think I have an appt with ps tomorrow. Im still having aggravating pain on rt side. And in my back. Its more annoying. Its like constant worry about mets. I just want to be normal but this is my normal. lol.
Hunnybunny im sorry about chemo. Its doable now with all the meds for side effects.
Healing hugs -
Mel, maybe make some PT appointments? I didn't do reconstruction yet still had some tight spots in my shoulder blades she helped me with. I'm still very sore under my arms and sides of my ribs. LIke where my surgery peak is under my arm, then a fat roll under that.
Who wants to see sweetpickle's perky cleavage, raise your hand!!!!
-
ROTFL!!!!
-
lmao.....
-
LMAO!!! I think Sweetpickle should put them in her profile pic!!!!!

Well back from surgeons ..nothing really to report..my drains have been doing 20 and a 10..and this morning they did a .5 a piece..he asked did I want to keep one more day to make sure they stayed low..YES...I wouldn't mind keeping them the rest of my life..after the whole serona thing. also, this time around I have this wonderful camisole with pockets for the drain..so wayyyy better than pinning them up...Question so I don't have to go back through 38 pages of our posts...what did ya'll do with drains while ya'll were taking a shower so they didn't just hang? You know before he wouldn't let me take shower..this time I got his consent for..."well a quick one"..
-
Ckmoss- I had a little bag that held the drains and hung around my neck. I was as careful as I could be not to get them soaking wet.
Ill post cleavage when I dont have a big black ugly scar on the right side.....lol -
Sweetpickle--You want a thought to make you smile??? We all have that big black ugly scar...YOU have that AND CLEAVAGE!!
..I'm very happy for you!
-
Hi everyone, I finally got back from the beach this evening. It took me a while to get caught up.
Honeybunny, I'm sorry you have been dealing with drama. It's enough to have to deal with all the BC crap. I hope things will get better.
CK: I'm glad you seem to be doing much better now. When I showered I would just clip my drains on the shower curtain until I finished bathing. I read where some would use the hangers with the clips and hang it on the rod and clip the drains to them. I'm so short that I couldn't use the hangers. They were too high for my drains to reach without stretching the drain cords too tight.
Sunday morning one of my incisions came open in a couple of small places. The PS said to keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't get infected until I get there on Tuesday. I've been putting neosporin and a bandage on it.
I hope you all have a wonderful evening. -
ckmoss, I tied a long length of cotton gauze around my neck and clipped my drains to the gauze. It's actually what the nurses told me to do when I left the hospital. So it looked like a necklace. When I was done showering, I would hang the strip on the towel rack where it would dry out until the next time. It worked great!
-
CK, I used a shoelace around my neck and pinned the drains to it. LMAO about all of us having a big black ugly scar.
-
Did anyone else use sil erdene on their scars? Did it help?
-
Thanks for all the tips! I will certainly be trying them! They don't hurt hanging, but more aggravation and just plain strange. Good night all!
-
Used a light cotton belt from a bath robe. The plastic tabs on the j drains have an opening to fit the drains onto a belt. tied around my waist. Get feeling good everyone. I got my drains out Monday so I feel like a new woman!!!!
-
Lol Sweetpickle we all have cleavage envy. Were you asking about silvadene cream. I was curious because I have some of that and havent used it on my scars so I wondered if it would help.
Well ladies I feel better because I cried on the phone to my oncology nurse about when would I ever be back to normal and stressing over whether the pain is mets and she always makes me feel better and not feel like the whiner I am. lol Its been a hard year but looking back it really wasnt so bad. Anyway I will see my ps tomorrow and get bloodwork done friday and see mo next week so he can tell me how my tumor markers are. Its all about finding a way to live and not let this beast consume me. Who knows maybe I need therapy. You know the strange thing is I couldnt wait to get my implants and be thru with this mess and now I dont even care if I get my nipples tattoo. I just am not enthused about breasts or looking feminine or anything like that. My priorities have changed and Im not sure if its for the better. Huh. Oh well didnt yall enjoy delving into my crazy mind. lol. I think I got enough of it out of my head so mybe I can sleep. Hope everyone is doing well and has a blessed night. -
All toooo familiar with the black scars!! Had nipple sparring so its not only the scars but nips tooo that turned black, however they are improving
-
Mel- Yes that is the cream. I feel the same way you do, you are not alone.
-
melmcbee, a good cry with someone who listens is very comforting. I'm glad your oncology nurse was able to make you feel better. I will be praying for you next week.
I think the best therapy would be for all of us to get together for a weekend slumber party. Wouldn't that be a blast?
Hugs to all.
Ann -
Good Morning All!
Melmcbee-I hope you had a good night and are feeling better! You were in my prayers last night.....
Also, it appears that not is Sweetpickle sporting some cleavage that you are too!..I do understand how priorities could change..I was all gung ho to get my reconstruction done same day (my surgeon was the one who made me wait on that ..said too fast to make decisions and too hard/long surgery for me..he was soo right..as far as I am concerned!)and now, I really feel like I could wait until next year sometime...but I think its the pain and soreness plus surgery just wipes you out..to where you are just like who gives a crap? I have to remember to stuff something where my MX site is when I go out (which is just to Dr's lately) so I want be flat on one side.
Ann-that would be def be a blast!
I went back last night to the beginning of our posts at the beginning of May and was reading through..looks like Ann and Run4us were here in the beginning..We have all come a good a ways just in this past month. I LOVE that we have had this board and I feel we have all clicked so well. I have tried to get in on other sites and the chemistry wasn't there or too many people or too few..I even looked on June surgeries to see if I could be of some help there..and looks like they haven't post in awhile...what we've had, to me, has been really special and I love this board and all of ya'll. I know I've learned more than any Dr, nurse or my BS have ever told me here and its helped tremendously..ok I'm going before I get all teary.
