Repeat MRI due to Spots

I had my first MRI screen after Mx a year ago, MRI showed "two small foci" in remaining breast which are too small to get significant info on, but have been described as having "benign characteristics on morphology".  ANyone else experienced this.  I have to go back in 5 months to get another MRI done.  I have read a few posts here where people were told something looked ok on an MRI but was too small to be sure so needed to checked again in 6 months and then at the re-check it turns out to be cancer!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi. Frustrating. You may want to ask your Dr. or the radiologist who read the MRI to compare what they're seeing to the MRI you had last year (if you had one then.) Could be there's no change. If you didn't have one back then, ok, too. Just a suggestion.

Also, one of the downsides of MRI's is that they're so sensitive that they pick up lots of things that are nothing and cause plenty of extra biopsies and worry. I had a cyst show up on MRI#2 and I pushed for the immediate biopsy although I was given the option to watch and wait. It was benign. I am telling you this in the hope that it may alleviate some worry, but if this weighs on you and you can't wait the five months, ask your Dr. to follow up sooner. Though many women have bimx due to the fear of contralateral BC, my onc insists that we ILCers have no greater chance for it than women w IDC. I am happy to have kept rightie, but the scanning is tough....

    Hang in, Shari
