TNBC ... 13 yrs & 1 yr later
13 yrs ago ... TNBC right breast. A year ago ... TNBC left breast.
This past year ... surgery, chemo, surgery, ooph & added way too many doctors.
Yesterday, we were at our son's high school graduation and 13 days ago (on Monther's Day) we were at our oldest son's college graduation. Somehow, I just can't stop smiling.
Today ... other than having stupid hair (too long to stay up or too short to stay down) ... life is normal.

Thank you for your encouraging post. Having TNBC stage II with 2 positive nodes myself and a beautiful 6 year old son that I so desperately want to see grow up, it's great to see someone 13 years out!
WISHING YOU MANY MANY MORE!

What chemo did u get for second time?
-
Well ... it's 14 & 2 yr! Wonder if I can just add that together and say 16 yrs.
I don't know why I didn't add this to "My Favorite Topics" ... it is now. Thanks & hi netty46.
Anyway, just had tats by vinnie ... they are AMAZING! I smile to that every morning. I am done. Everything back to norm ... that means I get to see all my docs yearly. Except I ate Organic Antioxidant Blend from Costco ... eating too healthy! Oh well ...

Thrilled to read this, as I'm mentally pretty low lately. Congratulations on you and your courage.

Shirlann: Thanks for stopping by with that bit of news. Excellent to hear!

This year ... I'm 55. I get a kick ordering from the senior menu & getting discounts. You see, I didn't think I would reach this number back in 1999 after talking with my first MO. I let him go and got another MO a week later. My 2nd MO retired when I got BC the second time. I want to say I outlasted him. So far, my 3rd MO is meh.
Anyway, I just want to check-in and say life's good. Letting go is a good thing and going on vacation is even better. Cruising to Alaska in a few days ... letting go!
Wish you peace ...

PS- The tats by Vinnie still makes me laugh ... they are AMAZING!

So happy for you:). What chemo meds did you get? Did you get a lumpectomy?
-
Hi sally9876 ... BC history ... right lumpectomy, ACT & Rad in 1999, left lumpectomy, CT, BMX & DIEP in 2011 (yah ... FUN year!) PM me if you want more info ...
Nothing about BC ... from Alaska cruise ... pic of fresh glacier ... was thinking about the Titanic as it flows by
-
Hmmm ... it's 16 & 4 years! All is well. Is it a bad thing ... that I don't think about BC?
Anyway ... watching the sunset on Mother's Day.
Wish you peace -

Hello and congrats on all of this (love the pics too). I know everyone is different, but may I ask what treatment you had? My dx a little different. This started in 2009 for me, but it changed characteristics just this Feb (or atleast that's when we figured it out). My onc was going to put me on chemo again and I insisted that they biopsy a couple nodes (partially bc I was in denial and thought they were just inflammatory from something else) Anyway, in 2009 had a bilateral mast, reconstruction, chemo (ACT) and almost 3 years of tamoxifen. We were trying to have another baby and a cyst in my one ovary showed bc. Then they recommended a hysterectomy...reluctantly did that. Started adoption process early this year and found these nodes showing TNBC. Did Taxol 3 rounds but had a mixed response, now starting platinum and gemcidabine tomorrow. Scared, can't find anyone who has had this treatment (besides one blog that was not exactly inspiring...on a different site). Keeping in mind that everyone is different, can you share with me what worked for you? Your story is truly inspiring and I can't wait to find something that works. During treatments, were you able to travel? Right now I am going to be getting chemo every week. I'm trying to find if there are infusion centers were you can go and get treatment if you are out of town.
Again, congrats this is wonderful.

TN here 25 years ago. At the time I was stage 1 grade 3 no nodes, 8 rounds of CMF did great. CMF works very well on TN.Last yr I got Triple Positive in my other breast, just finished chemo in April now on herceptin.
