Lori I am so happy you called the attorney and Skittle is right document....so if b/t now and when you see the attorney if you haven't documented try to remember who said what when and write it down...the way they look at it if you take the time to write it down it is true.....and she is write if you told anybody in or out of work about the abuse which is what it was ask them to speak to the attorney....they probably look at you as passive or laid back and wouldn't even think to go to an attorney.....they didn't know you have alll of us backing you up.....

Laurie I adore you, you are going through so much in your own way as we are going through our own stuff but you still think about us and what we are going through....HUGS!!!!I have a butterfly bush in my front yard and with me moving I am so sad cause I put it there where my grandson Andrew could watch the BF flocking to the tree....the twins cut it down twice just to piss me off and it grew back and when hurricane Sandy came it pulled it up and the roots are showing and it grew back...which means it was meant to be....

Skittle....my grandson was 7 on the 3rd and trying to figure out what kind of party he wants so it turns out roller skating, not all of my grandchildren will be there but most of them from 17 through 1 (all but 1) and I love being places they are....I am making memories with them....most will remember me but the 1 year old even if I live 5 years won't...so the memories are for me and them for the older ones and the younger ones is for me....thanks for asking....

What's second best to walking through a butterfly display is watching my dogs chase them around the yard. The bewildered look on their faces when they realize they can't catch them. Makes me giggle. I need that

    Love them problem solving too!

Laurie...  Ah, butterflies... dd2 had to gather a "professional" bug collection for her entomology degree--with over 100 examples.  It was so challenging to find that many different categories and specifics to fill requirements.  She was up to 97...  and I watched as she swooped her net over a lovely fragile yellow butterfly, and waited...  She did exactly what I expected.  She gently removed the creature from the netting.  Spoke softly to it.  Released it.  Watched it fly to freedom atop a morning glory vine.  She hadn't noticed me watching.  She cast eyes down, and almost whispered, "I just couldn't."  I was so proud of her.  Thank you so much for sharing your story.  I am glad dh was there with you to share the moment.  I'm sure he treasures his butterfly more than ever.

Camille... thanks for the laugh.  The puppy sitting...  says so much.

Teka... our two are crazed by a rare cricket now and then.  They are fascinated by the leaping (but, sadly, it doesn't last long.)  They leave their prey as trophies.  (Picky eaters.)

Spookiesmom... our woofer seems oblivious to visual insect life.  He goes by his nose... Ooh!  A deer crossed here?  Aaah.  I smell bunny!   Ack! Did a snake slither there?  He should have been a bloodhound.

blondie... what a great crew!  Sounds like lots of energy and lots of fun.  And don't be too sure about not being remembered.  My sixth graders often share grandparent stories.  I've heard stories start off with things like, "I lost my grandma when I was four, but I'll never forget her.  She smelled like soap and laughed like she meant it."  Some memories are locked down tight.

Hugs to each.  Sleep well, all.

Such nice stories--and Blondie Skittle is right they remember more than we imagine so make u'r mark and don't be so sure u won't be around for the 1 yr. old. Really.

Oh we got a letter today from an organization called PACE about Joey's school and he was accepted? in the gifted childrens program of some type (since we're not gifted we have no idea what this means LOL)

But he seemed to know and he was so happy--I honestly don't know but I hope this isnt a big pressure kind of thing. Anyone know about this thing?

Dear hermits- happy weekend! I am taking it slow this morning as I woke up headachey and just purely tired from the week. I have nowhere I have to be today so I am resting and will go to the gym later for some swimming to bring me back to life!

So many interesting posts here. Some lovely things about summer, other things we struggle through every day. I continue enjoy how everyone can just be present with everyone else here.

One of my yoga teachers here does a lovely yoga ritual during both the summer and winter solstices. We did a yoga practice up near the mountains last night at a church, then went out to watch the sun set over the western horizon. The colors in the sky last night were just so amazing, changing as the sun dipped down. Firey red orange at it's best. But then behind us, the moon (super moon as they are calling it this weekend) was coming up over the mountains behind pink clouds. Any direction you looked up into the sky last night was just so beautiful. I think I will remember that dual sunset and moonrise for a long time.

I did not have any success with getting any money of out my client yesterday. Talked to my business atty about a few things and probably just need to make some decisions. But I realized I am tired, frustrated and very irritable (the arimidex really has me on a short fuse most of the time these days). So I decided to detach and just tune the whole situation out this weekend. I also am taking monday off and going to Santa Fe for the day where a band I saw last year is playing in the plaza early evening. Time for jazzy to go enjoy life a bit more than she has been. I am embracing a nice three day weekend over here now.

Will write more later. Hoping everyone has a lovely day and is enjoying summer (for those in the northern hemisphere).

Jazxy U got to see the beautiful sunset and summer moon last night--how beautiful---we had rain storms, so nothing was seen. I was hoping it was going to be a clear nite.

I'm so glad u took an extra day off this weekend so u can balance things out a little--u've been working hard with a great deal of pressure so maybe u can pull back a little and just recharge u'rself./ Good.

It's still cloudy and humidity out, fine with me, but for kids they are so used to A/C they don't go out. so Joey's friend is here.

    Scary movie day for me.

Same here Camille. Cloudy humid and hot. I have too much extra padding for the heat! I should live farther north :) I weeded the poor neglected flower beds around 8pm last night.

Beautifully honest posts from all. I'm still organizing. DH is taking the girls to a local Catholic festival this evening while I finish. Once I touch it, it has to either go in a keep, save because I love it, or donate or recycle pile. I'm watching Twin Peaks while I do this. Such a quirky show!

    Hugs to all!

Markat hahahaha---I love Brad Pitt too always have

Markat is it a good thing for Joey or is it a pressure thing--that's what I worry about cuz he's a perfectionist and that is a bad combination--well we'll see. He's got some Dr. stuff coming up and theat might determine more--IDK things are screwed up right now.

Oh Laurie - that is so beautiful - we are all so much like butterflies - colorful in beautiful individual patterns - fluttering about.  I really like that.  I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend doing whatever makes YOU happy.

Camille... The gifted program here is a pathway to advanced classes in jr high and high school  There is no pressure (here) for any sort of performance or structure.  The students are just exposed to higher thinking, puzzles, and challenges.  There is no grade involved, but it is a good place for kids who think outside the box to get comfortable with each other rather than face judgment or bullying for being smart.   The students at my school attend a class a week, but they "free flow" out of the classroom when they finish their regular class work.  Rather than sit being bored, they can get up and leave the classroom, go to the gifted rooms and work on "contracts" to learn anything from algebra to computer programs to Latin/Greek vocabulary.  The program should provide materials for you to read if you have concerns about his being stressed.  Many gifted kids are perfectionists...  Wishing him well on the dr visit...

cvm--pretty new avatar.  Cheerful bright colors.

markat--I need to organize, too, but it's such a mountain... and I sit hesitantly with my teaspoon wondering where to start digging.

teka--dh wants to see z tomorrow.  I'll let you know if we do...

Jazzy--your yoga sunset sounded amazing.  I'm looking forward to the moon tonight and tomorrow.  It peeks through the treetops right about 9:30.

Oh!!  Blue heron sighting.  I'm so happy to see him.  He has been coming to our pond about five years now.  Lovely, lovely when he spreads his wings and takes flight.

    Happy Sunday.  Hugs...

Cami- glad you liked the link.  I think Cher is a real success story. Married young to Sonny, made her own career for herself in music, film, etc. I saw her the other day in the film, Moonstruck , which I had not seen in years. Love her acting. And she is 67 years old! I like her song too "this is a woman's world." Well, I don't think I believe that, but love the concept!

Going to see a Titanic artifacts exhibit that is here right now. Been on my to do list for a few months!

Peace and love to all hermits. Don't forget to look up tonight at the supermoon (13% larger and 30% brighter than normal right now!)

Love to all of you. Loved the stories...yoga, movies, the moon etc.  We had thunderstorms in Omaha last night and it was lovely. It brought back all of my childhood memories growing up in Minnesota.  Today my son is practicing in a state of the art indoor baseball facility. Games start tomorrow! We won't know until tonight when he will pitch. I am asking for prayers for his elbow. He has had some recent discomfort in it (an old injury that plagues him from time to time) and we are praying for strength in it.  The other news is that our daughter felt her baby for the first time yesterday! She is beyond excited and emotional.

My prayers are with all of you and Joey too.

    Have a wonderday day Hermits!

    XOXOXO

    Laurie

I feel like I'm using a spoon to dig through this stuff! I'm reading organizing blogs trying to learn the tricks. I think you either are or have to make yourself organized. I have to make myself! I have plenty of space, just lazy!

I love zombies! Have a great day everyone!

Thank you!   I wish I was there with you as I have a knack for organizing and love it. It calms me. I would come over and take over for you! Kiss
