Ambnh: I agree, it's nice to see everyone improving. I am also prone to sinus infections. I think you should ask for the big guns with antibiotics. Just my opinion.
-
Thanks Steph. I'd be fine if the "feel good" people would leave me alone. Yesterday it was the creepy social worker, today it was the nutritionist to tell me to stop losing weight (I'm eating when I'm hungry and not eating when I'm not - isn't that good?)
I hope you get some alone time for a few days! Don't push it going back to work too soon.
AMBNH, hope you are feeling better soon. Use a humidifier in your bedroom if you have one, saline spay in your nose works good too. That's on top of whatever the doctor gives you. Drink lots of fluid to help break things up and get lots of rest.

Hello Sweet Ladies.... First chemo DONE!!! I kicked butt!!!
I did great - no issues. I had a ton of water ( and continue) I think it is helping to flush the chemo out of me since I'm going to the bathroom every 15 minutes.
Thanks for all your prayers and positive thoughts. I'm going to take an Ativan and hopefully sleep tonight. I will check in tomorrow!!

WOOOHOOOOO Run4Us!!!
-
Congrats Run4us. Do you have to get the neulesta shot?
-
Woohoo Lisa that is awesome! Hope you get a good nights rest!
-
Chinneymae, have fun at the beach!
Ckmoss, you are in my prayers. I'm glad they are working.
Steph01, hope the sinus infection goes away quickly.
Sweet, I hope tomorrow goes well for you.
AMBNH, I love your attitude, you are an inspiration.
Go, continued prayers are with you too.
Run, YAY! I am so glad this first day is behind you. You ARE beating this.
Today was a good day as I had my first fill. Well actually my second one, but it was the first where I was awake. It only stung for a second and was kind of a strange procedure. It was done by the PA whom I love. She is the sweetest thing, so caring and gentle. Plus she made my day by telling me not to lose the ten extra pounds I've put on since the first of the year. She told me I have barely enough ab fat for two new breasts as it is (I loved hearing that and yes, she was serious!) Don't lose weight? Yah, I can do that.
Hugs to all of you.

steph.. take it easy on yourself girl. Here's for quick healing for you. I went to work for 4 hours today and WOW that is so my limit! They are just glad to at least have me back.... even if it's just part time.
ckmoss.. I have to say it.. TOLD YA! :P hehehe all kidding aside, I'm glad that it wasn't staph and that even though he needs to go back it.. all will be OK!!
AMBNH.. oh man. I hope you get that cleared up soon.
Hello to everyone else.. I hope you all had a good day.
Besides working a bit today.. I am sitting on pin's and needles right now. The city is under flood watch and peeps are being evacuated. Actually most of southern alberta is under flood watch. Just google.. it's horrible. I hope my inlaws were able to get out as they were required to evacuate too. It's scary, scary, scary. I can't sleep.. I'm glued to facebook, twitter, the tv. They have even closed ALL schools tomorrow. Please pray for everyone involved. That is my wish tonight. Thanks everyone.. sweet dreams.

I feel like I should start sending thank you notes to these people..lol.
Ya'll take care!
-
ckmoss, bring cookies and maybe things will go right this time. Never hurts to bribe the staff! Good luck today! You are in my prayers.
I have rads at 9:15, then PT at 9:45. I should have told the pt to meet me at rads and help me get off the damn table. Look forward to sleeping in this weekend since I was up at 7:00 am 4 days this week (something I am definitely not used to in the last 6 months). I asked them to make my future appointments late morning. I thought I could do this earlier, but it's not in me.
-
Curious how many have seen a PT to get range of motion back?? Wondering if I should call the office and ask about it.
-
Good morning everyone, sorry I missed being on yesterday. My Ipad was out of commission for the day due to having a protective screen put on.
Ann: I got plenty of fat for ya if you need it.
CK: I am really sorry you are having to go through all of this. You have been in my prayers and will continue to be. You got this!!
AMBNH: I hope your sinuses clear up soon. I know how miserable they can make you.
Run4: You go Girl!!! I know you are so glad you got that first treatment behind you and kicked butt!!
Sweetpickle: sorry it was Honeyb that worked the 4 hours.
Catey: If you are still having range of motion problems, I would definitely call and ask about PT. Anything to make it easier and better for you. Prayers going up for you. That was so sweet, what you sent to CK.
Honeyb: Going back to work for just a few hours was great. I'm off during the summer, but when my PS said I could work half days, I went in one day anyway just to get a little normalcy back. It really felt good. I hope all is well with you and the family. You are in my prayers.
I may not be on very much after today until I get back. I'm going to try not to think about BC or anything to do with it while I'm gone. My mind needs a rest and I hope I can do this. Love you guys. Your support and encouragement means the world to me. I pray for all of you each and every day. -
Good morning everyone. cat.. I am able to get up to 6 treatments, but that's covered by Alberta health care. So I think I will take them up on their offer.. especially since I don't have to pay for it right?
luv n hugs to all today
-
Ckmoss- good luck with surgery today! Im not back to work, I quit my job in May when we decided to move back to Charlotte. I will be helping dh in his biz once Im on my feet though. The way I feel today I couldnt imagine having to go to work. Im living in the recliner today, incisions are getting sore and itchy.
-
catey, I went for one PT apt. last week. Was sore afterwards (she just stetched and didn't over do it). I barely got any of the exercises done this week, I think I did them twice (and not all of them). But I did start doing laundry again, and continued to empty the dishwasher and put things away on all shelves gently pushing the limits of my motion.
Went back today to see her and my range of motion is so much better. She did some more gentle stretching and worked on some tight areas in my back and on my sides. I feel like a new woman. I say go for it!
I will see her next week again. I feel like I could probably be okay without it, but felt so much better after today.
-
Catey: definitely go for the pt. I went for 7 sessions, and only have one regret: that I waited 9 months before doing it! All those months of pain that could have been resolved so much sooner!
Honeybuns: I'm guessing the 6 treatments you are referring to are pt? If so, make sure your therapist knows that your visits are limited. They'll probably push up the pace a little bit. also, after you get your first two or three visits in, they'll give you exercises to do at home. Since
You have a limited number of visits, see if you can space these later ones out. I think you may get more out of the visits if you put more time into your exercises between visits. Just my two cents. -
In hospital now...He cleaned out whole cavity and put in 2 drains. The anestesiolgist didn't give morphine..gave me something diff..it caused me to stop breathing..they had to "bag me"..also violent nausea in recovery..heart static for 30 min..sleepy now..Wilkinson be here for day or so
-
How scarey, ck! I'm Soooo glad you're ok!! Keep us posted!
-
ckmoss, take care! I hope things are finally under control. You're in my prayers.
-
Holy cow ckmoss! Feel better soon and get some rest!
-
CK, you have had the worse time. OMG, I wish I could hug you!
-
ckmoss--you have been thru so much and now more. Stay strong. and get well soon!!! Big hugs to you.
I have good news. Saw the oncologist and got back my oncotest score. It's an 11. No chemo!!!! I'm so excited and wish I had the energy to go celebrate with a margarita.
Now for the radiation and then the anastozole 5 year treatment plan.
Oh and I will get one more tube out on Monday. I'm hoping the other one left will slow down enough this weekend to get it out too.
-
Congrats on no chemo mshelton! And things will start feeling a lot better once those drains are out!
-
mshelton, I am so happy for you! I actually teared up reading your post. I am feeling so close to all you wonderful ladies. We have a special lifelong bond.
I hope everyone has a wonderful, pain free night.
Ann -
Oh, CKMoss, I am so sorry you are going through so much! I will be praying for your speedy recovery. You have suffered enough.
Well I had to go and have blood work done today due to the fever. My white blood cell count was so low the doctor was talking hospitalization. She decided to let me try a much stronger antibiotic. If the fever persists in the 100.5 range and above tomorrow, it's the hospital. Grrrrrr. I just want to feel better.
Hugs to all. -
OMG, CK! I sure hope all is going to be ok. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. You are going through so much.
Ambnh: I hope the antibiotics will work for you. I know you don't want to go into the hospital.
Mshelton: I am really glad you don't have to do Chemo. My score was 30 and my onco has recommended it. She said that my percentage would only drop by 7% so I'm not going to have chemo. I just don't feel the side effects would outweight the benefits. I sure hope I'm making the right decision? It's just how I feel in my gut. I will do the AI for five years. -
Mshelton, that is awesome news! When you feel up to it, savor that Margarita! Well deserved treat!
-
Mshelton, CONGRATULATIONS!! It's so relieving to have a low score!
Chinneymae, if "no chemo" is what your gut is telling you, go for it! That mid-range number is what I dread, because of having to make a decision. Honestly, I'd rather have a high number than a mid-range, so I don't have to decide! I should get my score in about a week. -
Oh Ck I am so sorry that you are going thru this. We will pray that they have finally took care of it. Healing hugs.
Ambnh that chemo will knock yourwbc in the dirt. Are you getting the neutropen shot or whatever the other one is called that will help? Prayers for you going up.
Mshelton, congrats on you not having to do chemo. That means you just beat balf your battle. Yeah..
Healing hugs to all
