I wonder how my stage III gals are doing?
I think about you all, hoping that you have found some sense of calm in the rough waters. Doing good here. Just living life and keeping on. Love to all. Hang in and keep on.

Not Stage III, but hot and sweaty after my run. Life is good, and I am hard at work. I am wondering more about YOU!!! BTW.....I am still convinced you are going to be just fine and that everything with you is "manageable".
Anyway, I am thrilled at how well most of us are doing. New lives and new vistas.
But Everyminute is the one who puts all of us to shame. - Claire

I know these runners are something else. Sadly I am off the bike because of ball of foot pain. Walking but foot is so sore no cycling. Doing good here Claire Stable All I ask for is stable. Lol. Be well.
-
Cancerwise I'm doing good....Living life, but its been a hard year......I lost my Dad last month....I had moved my parents by me in April and 3 weeks after arriving in Denver, Dad was admitted to the hospital....9 days in the hospital and then we moved him to hospice and 4 days later he died. Thankfully my DH and I were able to be with Dad at the end. I thought cancer was hard, but this has been harder in many ways. But such is life!!!
-
Diana....I get this. Two years ago, I smashed my left ankle into the pavement in a cycling spill. Did I stay off the bike? Hell NO. So I only started to feel tons better about 6 months ago. Still not perfect but now I am the fittest ever cycling-wise.
So wonderful not to be limping.
As to the other, a friend of mine has been just fine for something like 14 years. This was with lung mets.
She has to take hormonal therapy for the rest of her her life, but who cares?
As I said, you will be just fine. p.s. My big milestone was doing a run with a much younger friend a week ago, and not looking all that shabby. I count that as progress.
Be well, and get back on that bicycle ASAP! - Claire

Thanks for checking on us Diana, I'm doing good. Just had a clear scan and just started running...yep, I'm going to be one of those darn runners!
I'm sorry to hear about your foot and happy to hear your stable. Keep on keepin' on my friend.

Karen
Sorry about your dad. Yeah, life throws rocks at us sometimes. Losses. Adjustments...adaptation. Joy and gratefulness is also intermingled in there. Not so easy.
Claire Hope to be on bike in Fall. Got orthodics. Walking is good. I have a dig walking job at 6:30 am every day. Lol.
Take care!!! -
Thank you for checking in on us, my Dear Diana - I know how hard it must be for you to be off your bike. Walking/exercising is becoming increasingly difficult for me due to my arthritic right hip, but of course I was relieved that it wasn't something more sinister (however I will still put off the hip replacement for as LONG as I can!). Saw the onc yesterday for my 6-month blood draw & all looked OK (although they don't believe in running tumor markers). My dear friend (since age 10) died Saturday from a progressive illness that turned her insides all fibrous - strange to think she wasn't able to outlive her mother, who actually went through breast cancer the same time I did. I'm currently on vacation at the Oregon coast, so will try to use this time to recharge my POSITIVITY!
Love to you - Julie
-
Julie....don't wait too long on the hip replacement. My mother did that one, and did not have as good an outcome as she should have had because of waiting.
I will be blowing by Kelso on my way to Portland in 3 weeks time. I still have to get to the Oregon Coast. I have cycled on the WA State side (Cape Disappointment) and just stunning.
Diana....so glad there is hope for you getting back on the bicycle. Cycling is what keeps me sane and my brain nimble.
Jenny....good luck with the running. I just started 2 months ago to rev up the weekday exercise, and much better than I thought I would get. Think I am also better now than at any time in my life.
Do they make orthotics for my sore butt???? Hurts to sit down today
- Claire
-
Lol Claire. Orthodics for butts. Funny.
Julie. Claire has a point on the hip thing. Sorry your friend died.
It is actually too hot to cycle the mileage in the summer here in the desert. Last summer had issues with dehydration and so did other cyclists. I rather enjoy walking neighbors dog Barney in the early early am. Learning to make adjustments . Lol. Turning 61 end of June.
Hugs love! -
So good to hear from you.......
Love stable! May it always be that way!

Living life here....started playing basketball again back in Feb. and at the time I found it hard to believe I had been in active treatment just a short year ago. Still trying to find the balance. Thankfully I have a nice big yard and it keeps me very busy...otherwise I think I would be suffering from some joint stiffness. Overall though I can't complain.
-
One and a half years after my stage IIIC diagnosis, I just had a full set of scans and am currently NED. But I've relocated and am working with a new onc who agreed with me that I need more treatment to stay that way for the long term. So I had genetic testing done and I'm back on chemo, getting the drugs my Caris report suggests may be beneficial for my particular cancer. (Unfortunately AC+T was unlikely to be beneficial.) It's been expensive and not without physical consequences, but I'm very grateful. I was never comfortable with standard of care.
-
Thank you for checking up on us, Diana! I like your metaphor about life throwing rocks at us. Shoot, sometimes it feels like a hailstorm of large ones.
As for me, it's been almost two years since DH died, and the boys, the dogs and I are healing, living, laughing and loving. I am reminded every day of how lucky I am to be alive and to do all of the things I want to do today. I am immensely grateful for however long this peace will last-hopefully a long time! And I hope that for all of you here too! It's all about today for everyone.
Love
Bobbie -
Bobbie. Yeah. One day at s time. Hugs

Oh, and I forgot to say, Diana, you are an inspiration! I know you're going through a rough patch right now but I also know you have the goods to get through it! Sending good karma your way.
-
Well. All we can do is live. That is my motto.
-
Living is my motto too. For me, knowing how to live a meaningful life remains the challenge. Even though I'm 3 years out from diagnosis, I remain unsure how to find any peace knowing that the monster may return at any moment. Yesterday my daughter and I exchanged a series of texts after reading Melissa ethridge's comments re Angelina Jolie's prophylactic mast.
Daughter:Melissa etheridge on yahoo makes me nauseas. She says stress gave her breast cancer and that Angelina Jolie a wimp essentially for getting a double mastectomy.
Mother:I think I will burn incense and chant. This will remove all negativity. My breast ca will never return
Daughter:Don't forget your asparagus water.
Mother:I will also start juicing go organic and place crystals in my underwear
Daughter:Haha yes, I've heard marvelous things about juicing. The crystals only count if they've been blessed by an albino monk near an ocean or large bathtub.
Mother:Yes you are right haha
Daughter:I know. I'm always right. Especially about physical and mental health. I have a subscription to wackadoodle thoughts monthly.
Mother;That is quite funny
Daughter:Maybe Susan g komen would like to hire me as a comic for some upcoming event or conference.
my daughter adds great joy to my life. Today is my 32nd wedding anniversary !
Elizabeth -
Crystals in your underpants. I think that is funny. ....

Hi Diana, So so happy to hear that all's stable for you. I am now at my 8 yr mark and all's well. I feel blessed everyday with my dear heart DH. I am loving seeing my daughter into a very wise woman, and watch my grandbabies get bigger nd older everyday.
I have admired you for so long, and truly beleive that you will most likely stay " stable" for many many many years
-
Diana,
Thanks for checking up on us. I'm so glad all is stable for you! All is fine with me, physically. I started exercizing alot and feel good. My marriage is another story.
-
I am good too.
had damn septoplasty almost month ago. had last part of m y recon april 3. and had this awful OMG pain in my left sinus when I bent over or sneezed or coughed. seems it was a bone spur on my deviated septum. why it decided to show itself during recon is beyond me. was convinced it was brain cancer. had darnest time finding ENT that believed in treating my pain. stupid doctors
Am trying to get my strenth back up going to gym doing pilates, and some pool and yoga stuff. am floundering on this vegan diet. been doing that since jan.
trying to find happiness again. went dancing friday night. went to play last night. think I need to find some volunteer thing.
-
I hope i am good too. I had right growin area pain and i went to see my OBGYN. OBGYN told every thing looks good and suspected over used muscule or hernia so refer to surgen. I wanted to see my primary before going to surgern so i saw my primary doc next week and by that time my pain was almost gone. My primacy doc didn't think i need to go to surgen and neither i do. But i am having low hemolobin issue, i don't eat red meet. Any suggestions you have to maintain my RBC, appreciate.
Otherwise i am good, every day is new day and exciting day even with inner fear.
My ladies, have a great summer.
