Suspicious lesion

Options

I have been reading the post here which are very informative, so now my question...my MRI came back with a 5 mm lesion on one of my vertebraes, my doctor is not too concerned about it and will wait 3 months and rescan.   Should I be concerned with metastatic spread?

Hi, what was the pathology of your original tumour? Why did you have the MRI?

If your cancer was invasive, there is a risk of metastatis and it would be understandable for you to be concerned.

However, if your doctor is not too concerned, and you trust your doctor, this should allay your concern somewhat.

Have you read the MRI report which will contain the radiologist's assessment? If not, I suggest you do.

    Hi, Sunburst.

I agree with Racy in that you should get a copy of the report and read it yourself.  Did you onc say why he/she isn't concerned?  Do the reasons make sense to you, and are you mostly ok with waiting?

Three months by the calendar isn't all that long, but when we're waiting to find out about The Beast, it can be terribly long.  Undecided

    Hugs,

The Pet/CT scan shows no bone lesions, there is no pain, tumor markers are normal. The area is too small for biopsy. He said he will wait until chemo is completed then do MRI again to see if still there.

The MRI report said highly suspicious for metastases, bone scan was clear too.

So my question is also which would be a most accurate scanning device for bone mets?

    Thanks
