bct i had allergan TEs..i am 5ft 2 (and a half!) and was around 118-120# at exchange..i am.down to 112 now!  :)))  i am still sore some on my right because of pocket work, with some swellung after exercise.  my ps just cleared me for all activity this past week at 6 wks, but no push ups, pec work, so when i added arm.stuuff in exercise, i swelled some n felt it!  its much better over the past few days already.  so whippet did not agree with ps offering syle 45s or sientra anatomicals because of my TE width of 13.  so i was stressed.  my ps said he is a volume ps vs measurement ps.  he told me to tell hum when volume looked good in my TEs.  he suggested i stop at 450cc, but i pushed on to 500cc.my wish list was natural look, out of my pits, projection, projection!, c cup.  so prjection was style 45s and sientras ..we did talk about max volume offered being 425 in round base, and if that would be ok for me or too small. as me and ps looked thru allergan, sientra caralogs together, handled them in office, n talked..choices were style 45s 475cc-550cc, and sientra high profile anatomucals, round base 425cc.  again, in the end..my skin couldnt take volume of style 45s.  so i am prob a c cup..havent gotten fitted or done measurement, shopped yet, but i was looking fir bathing suit tops and was shocked at how big they looked!!  i bought 3 possibilities and all are larges!!

my phone screwed up..i think larges due to projection!!  i couldnt do any with clasp backs, because too wide around ribs, but ok for cup?!??  that was new, frustrating at first!  i had asked ps for some natural droop, and he said doubtful, but i have that too! i may need to get mire specfic sizing with bathing suit other thsn target!! :))  i am just surprised that 425cc is what ut is on me!  goid luck at apot..my ps also gave me allergan and sientra booklets to look thru regarding size/options, etc, and i mainly looked at projection, which he did too and yhen used my TE width as a guide to zoom in on options...

BCT2013- I have a Sientra oval base. Firmer than my old smooth round, more projection and does not lay as flat when on my back due more to the firmness than the pocket, I think.  From what everyone has said and from pics on that website I gave a link to, it seems like it is softer than the 410s and will distort or ripple more but have a feeling in between 410s and smooth gels. Definitely softer than TEs. Can't comment on stomach sleeping (never slept that way) or heaviness past 425cc. Mine is 330cc but at times feels heavier than my natural side. I'm noticing that less and less as time goes on and more when bra-less, which is not often anymore.

Thank you mamatwinz and blanviper!  sorry didn't reply sooner!  My youngest turned 4 and had great fun at his party  =)  it was good to keep my mind off of things for a while.

I did finally seen my ps last week and had first fill!  50cc on each side.  I am at 350cc and the plan is to go to 450.  (wow, mamatwinz, yours stretch to 500 withut problem!?)  I have the allergan TE and the plan is for allergan 410.  Next week I will get to finally feel the implants.  I have asked for the sientra and other allergan models.  so hopefully all will make more sense once I actually see and touch them!

Connie and Kestrelgurl, would you please update us on how you feel about the 410?  do you like the look and the feel of them better as time goes on?  I think I will only have a couple weeks to recover before going back to work.  how long do you have drains in?  kestrelgurl, hope yours are out?

    speedy recovery and hugs!

    BCT,

Yes, my drains are out and I feel really good! Only had them for 6 days. Actually going into work for a few hours today (I work in a running store, so it is an active job) and am ready to go. Have been walking 3-5 miles everyday since Sunday and am surprised at how good I feel. I did take the pain meds as told and have learned it makes all the difference.

After only a couple more days, I am feeling better and better about the size, placement, shape and feel of the 410's. They are already "settling" a bit. Can't imagine having round things on my boney chest. Did you see my post on the picture forum? I am small, but very happy!

Thank you Gail!  so encouraging to hear how fast and well you are recovering!  and that you are very happy with your 410!  you are amazing walking 3-5 miles a day!  and working already!  hopefully my 2 weeks will be more than enough!

I am new to this site, so I am not able to see pictures.  but that's ok, you sound very pleased with your choice!  I am so happy for you!

Sherry, would you mind sharing why you don't like sientra? what kind do you have?

I currently have allergan TE and trying to just get a feel of what people like and not like about their implants to help me decide.

    Thank you for any input!

    Bct2013,

The Seintras are soft and I have the 550HP Oval base...it's not that I don't like them but would like a little more projection and sz..the left nonradiated side has ripples and crunches up with certain movements and the radiated right implant turned a little due to being told to where an underwire bra..one good thing they are nice and soft..

    how do you post pics???

I think I love my gummy bears! they feel firm but getting more squishy.....yay! They still look weird but not as bad as they were!

I had my drains for 4 days and recovery was QUICK!!!

I agree, Connie. It is a bit too early for much poking and prodding and my pec muscle wants to spasm if I manhandle things too much. They are pretty firm bit infinitely softer than the TE's.....and no hard edges or pokey bits.

The radiated side is a little more volatile, but seems to be relaxing more everyday.

I wanted shaped implants because I really wanted to avoid the "half a grapefruit" look. The 410's accomplished this. They are not as malleable as traditional foobs, but that may also be because I am so small and so much Alloderm was used. I don't know if these girls will ever jiggle.....but it is nice to ditch the bra in this AZ heat! :-)

I had my exchange surgery yesterday morning and was home by noon.  Spent the day in bed due to some dizziness and nausea from the anesthesia.  I have the Natrelle 410 'gummy bears' on both sides.  375 cc on my left (non-cancerous breast that had more tissue) and 400 cc on my right.  My PS had to cut and lift some skin from my left and opened the entire length of the original incision, so it feels tight and sore.  My right side, less so.  The slight rippling I had on my left is gone and the upper pole 'bump' I had on my right is gone.  My PS had suggested an implant size that would go higher-up on my chest - no thanks.  I like having a 'boney' chest and my breasts naturally slope from it.  They look good - I'm a C cup - definitely natural, except for the scars.

Cathyann - I read your post about the heaviness subsiding over time.  It's hard to tell what I'm feeling due to the incisions, but I'm hopeful that the implants will be dramatically better than the TEs.  When I move my arms, I feel the incisions - trying to avoid having a drain placed on the left side, so I'm not moving much.

Would love to hear from anyone post-surgery who had the TEs and replaced them with the Natrelle 410s.  At what point did you think they felt better than the TEs?  I was under the impression that the relief would be immediate, but I'm still slightly swollen and it's only been 24+ hrs.

    Thank you!

    Chris

took about 5 days for me - I had the drains taken out at 4 days post op...the next day I felt a LOT LOT LOT lighter!!!

I still feel them now and then but not like those TEs!!! I can sleep on my side with no discomfort!!!!

I can see mine forming now - no longer have that "cliff edge" I was seeing before!!!

Connie, Gail, and ChrisAnne, This is very cool to hear positive feed back on 410s! Firmer but not hard! And natural looking! and I sure miss sleeping on my side!

Also thank you Sherry for sharing on sientra!

I will be patient through next few weeks to complete my fills! Did any ps said how often the 410s can "turn?"

    Thank you again!

    Cathyann & ConnieGreene:

You both mentioned that it took a while for the implants to feel 'natural' ... for the tightness and heaviness I felt with the TEs to subside.  I'm 48+ hrs. post exchange and still very uncomfortable.  I don't want to take the pain meds because they'll make me nauseous, so I'm trying to stick with Tylenol.  The Allergan/Natrelle 410s feel just like the TEs, at the moment.  Very tight, heavy and hard.  Did either of you experience this type of discomfort after your exchange and, if so, for how long?  My family thinks I'm jumping the gun, but I didn't expect to feel worse and I'm already regretting my decision ... : (

They look good, but feel awful ... am I being too hasty?

Chrissane - I felt like that until probably day 5! I had my drains taken out at day 4 and I swear it felt like the TEs were still there - let them heal....I didn't lay low - we had moved the weekend before and on day 3 I was up and moving - had to! (OCD thing) the more I moved around the better they felt!

I feel more and more comfortable and the days go by - went braless today and it didn't bother me at all!

BCT2013 - my PS said they should NOT at all!

bct..not "easy" getting to 500cc, but I kept pushing to add more cc..!  my ps wanted me to stop at 450 or 425 ish.. and honestly my skin must not have like that because it couldn't tolerate same cc or a little more in style 45s..thus 425 sientra!  I really like them!  I am scheduled for revision 8/6 for left pocket to lift up tiny bit and bring in tiny bit for better symmetry.  I cannot imagine being any bigger than I am now.  I think i was listening to everyone else about going bigger, etc. that I forgot to really think what I wanted.  It think I am a C cup..have not had a chance to get measured professionally yet..just been busy!  Projection is great and was one of my top priorities.  I was sore for a good 4-6 weeks after..not bad at all,,just tight and I stretch A LOT! I think I feel some of the scar tissue forming at pocket (tightness), but it is soo much better and going away!

ConnieGreene - thanks for the feedback ... I really appreciate it.  They do feel better today, so I'm just trying to remain patient.  I'm not very good at that and, like you, need to be moving!  My PS told me today that I should 'take it easy' for 6 weeks.  Was under the impression that I wouldn't have that type of recovery time, so I'm a bit bummed.  The tightness has eased-up and I'm much less sore.  Still happy with my shape - cleavage looks awesome, so that's good news!

Thank you Connie and mamatwinz!  It's great you mention about projection! I now look more at my TE in profile, they do look more like hamburger buns.  hopefully once the implants are in, there will be more PROJECTION!

ChrisAnne, would you please share what kind of TE/volume you had?  my ps is rec 410 for me too.  he wants my TE to be about 450 b/f exchange.  also what height and projection are your allergan 410?  so happy you are feeling less sore!  I am a little bumed too.  I think I will only have 2 weeks post exchange to get back to "normal" and work!

b/f the exchange, did many people feel the TE is jabbing into the arm pit?!  I felt them much more after my fill!  are they filling too much?  or will this go away after the exchange?  kind of a catch 22, I kind of want the foobs to be a little larger than before, but more projection, not wider!  I will be sure to ask my ps that too.

    Thank you for any input!

bct..mine were in my armpits with later fills and yes it got worse as they got bigger/with more fills!  My right was worse than my left regarding being in my pit, so I told him I wanted it out of my pit..he had to do more pocket work on that side because of it; which made it more sore than the left with exchange, but way better now!  I also said I wanted closer together (which was result from moving out of my pit!) and that happened too.  I had restrictions until 6 weeks...and even now said no pec work/push ups..and added why would you need to?  my ps always said with fills..do not look at shape, size, etc...just look at VOLUME..only purpose for TE is to stretch skin; nothing else.  :)

BCT2013, I'm pretty sure my TE volumn was 400.  I have the Natrelle 410s:  420 cc on both sides (PS confirmed yesterday) and both are style MF (moderate height/full projection).  I didn't have any discomfort in my arm pit with the TEs, but I went from a D to a C cup, so that's probably the reason.  Still feel tight, slightly heavy and have a minor burning sensation which I assume is due to the implants adhering to my tissue.  The only tenderness is around my incisions.  I'm 4 days post exchange ...

BCT - "hamburger buns" perfectly described mine after the exchange! They are slowly but surely filling out now - I was a little (ok a LOT) worried about it!

I saw my PS yesterday and he seemed very pleased with the results.  It is pretty amazing! My new boyfriend seemed pretty excited too!  Still more pain around the incisions but manageable.  A bit of swelling around the reconstructed breast.  The implants are slightly visible on the upper pole but that should relax and drop down, forming a nice slope.  Nipple on cancer boob looks good.  They still feel heavy - much more firm than the round silicone but no rippling/wrinkles. Adding the extra Alloderm strip on the upper pole made a huge difference.  I think my PS is a genius!!

Chris -   You need to give yourself more time.  All of a sudden your going to feel more natural with your implants, it's just everyone's different in the healing process.     I did have alot of tightness and swelling right after surgery, plus I didn't have drains put in this time and I think that's what made me feel so tight (from all that fluid), but it only took about 2 weeks for me to really start feeling -more myself.     Sleeping is where I have most of my troubles...I'm a side sleeper and right now I still have to sleep on my back.  I've had some stitches actually come to surface and out of the corners of my scars...ugh! Back on antibiotics for me...  It's starting to look better though now.

    Thanks Sherry67!

Cathyann - Me too for the sleeping difficulties. It's hard to stay on my back.  These things are still pretty hard and my breasts are tender and very itchy under the tape.  But the worst is over.  Now I just have to get used to "bigger boobs" which everyone seems excited about.  I think the ps went bigger in order to fill out the volume and avoid any rippling.  Are these mine? Is this me?
