Skin issues with chemo

I am almost one month out from chemo. I had AC and taxol. I started developing a really itchy red rash on my neck this past week and I notice that my skin is very fragile. I put a bandaid on and when I took it off it actually peeled off some of my skin. I have been out in the sun lately so could the rash be from that? I also notice I get the rash on days I wear sunscreen. Maybe it is the sunscreen? But the sunscreen does not cause a rash anywhere else. So I guess my question is can chemo cause skin issues: dry, itchy, red and fragile??

I know it can cause dry and itchy because I've had it for a while.  Red and fragile from scratching maybe?  Try a good moisturizer a few times daily and add a bit of hydrocortisone in the itchy areas.

Before, during and after Taxol, my face was a MESS!  I looked like a teenager with bad acne and through in a few rashes on top of that stuff.  My Onc prescribed some meds that helped.  It went away on its own about 6 weeks post Taxol.   Can't remember the script anymore, but I would check with your Onc.

I had Taxotere not Taxol but I was told it's very light-sensitive and I need to stay out of the sun. Can you try wearing a wide-brim sun hat and see if that helps? Sunscreen might just not be enough to block the rays.
