AngelinaJolie

I am elated that Angelina Jolie is showing as an example to have her breasts removed.  However, I feel almost offended.  Am I just being selfish? I feel that maybe all this money being thrown away should be used to better detect breast cancer, and in a younger population. I am in my 30's with no family history, and was negative for BRCA testing. There has to be a better way. I am worried about radiation, does it hurt? or make you sick? please help.

Thanks

Rads only takes about 5 minutes once you're in place for the machine... I did end up with some radiation burns under my breast and along the side where my lumpectomy and node removal incisions were; it was painful but healed fairly quickly once I finished up my treatment (5 days a week for 6 weeks).
