    Blackgama, I  am having the Canadian in the supine position, as my tumor is in my axilla, so I'm sorry I can't help you with info about your situation.  How many treatments are you being  scheuled for?  My RO had originally told me I'd have 17 WBRs and 5 boosts, but today on rad #15 we talked about arm function and swelling issues (I was already having problems after my second surgery) and she's thinking of cancelling the 5 boosts.  I was ambivalent about having the boosts, and now I'm ambivalent about NOT having them.  I certainly don't ever want a recurrence in my armpit!

    I read of a 10 year study of over 1,200 women who had actually slightly better results than the US protocol. It sounds like the shortened program is used routinely in Canada, New Zealand, and Europe with excellent results. I don't want to compromise my outcome for DCIS, but it's a 2 hour drive each way for me to get treated. If it works everywhere else, why wouldn't it work here? It's not like we are the shining beacon of excellent health care here with our for-profit system.
