Badger, congrats on 3,500 miles!!!!! Wow, that's incredible!!

Thanks for the link to The Lymphedema Treatment Act.  I just finished rads in March and had my first bout of breast lymphedema and cellulitis two weeks ago. I'm more than happy to send a letter to Mark Pocan!

    Have a great weekend ladies!!!

hi ladies, everyone OK out there?  We had wicked storms but no hail or wind damage TG.

Thanks Swgee for both the congrats on 3,500 miles and the assist on LE Treatment Act.

Here's the link again if anyone missed it on the previous page.  http://www.capwiz.com/lymphedematreatmentact/home/

I started a walking program when recovering from BMX in spring 2010 and couldn't go very far or very fast.  Slow but steady I built an exercise habit and now try for (at least) a 30-minute walk every day.  I still don't go very fast but I can go pretty far.  ♥

We had two rounds go thru (New Glarus) and lost power until midnight.  thankfully no damage!  We have a new roof thanks to the storm last year and it's holding up beautifully!Smile

Hi I live in Wisconsin and wondering if anyone has used Dr. Sam Poore for the DIEP reconstruction? I would love hear your story. Thanks - Kelli

Hi Kelli, My dad works at UW, is friends with Dr. Poore and knows his work. I do not have any personal knowledge of DIEP or Dr. Poore, except that I've met him a few times. My dad thinks highly of him and his work.

Hi Badger,  Nice job on your miles walked! I've been in Costa Rica on vacation and then in New Jersey for work but am not traveling for the rest of the summer! Did you do Race for the Cure last week? I have my cataract surgery pre-op next week and the surgery is scheduled for June 27. If you haven't moved office yet, maybe we can do lunch in the next couple of weeks?? I got a little LE in my left hand and saw a UW LE therapist right before I left for Costa Rica. Came back from CR with a stomach virus and a rash and had to leave 48hrs later for New Jersey. I'm fine now but it's been a rough couple of weeks.

    Take care, Gina

hi Gina, thanks and sorry you've through some crap!  No race last weekend.  I don't like Komen's politics or their priorities (does SGK's sister Nancy Brinker really need to make over 600K a year?).

I could do lunch any day next week but Monday.  Sunprint?  You pick the day & time!

Hi all, welcome Kelli! Had phone problems so didn't.read or post to often. Still trying to organize Farm Camp for the second weekend in August, do keep your calendar clear for that. Can promise beds, bonfires, and toilets! Just have to double check one thing to be sure we have the big house for that weekend. Feel free to come for over nights, or for the day, we can talk, walk or just gaze at the fire. We have a four wheeler available if you want to really get in the woods. Some beautiful places for meditation or drinking. LOL I will let you all know when its definite and we can finalize who could come. Much love.

Monica, is there electricity at the FH?  Don't want to assume!  I should sort through my camping equipment and see if I still have my old beat-up wonderful percolator coffee pot.  Blackened from the flames of many a fire.  ♥

Badger, old farmhouse has electricty, indoor pluming, woodstove and privies. Folks house is a ranch house circa 1980's, so just a house! LOL so we.have a choice, depending in how many come. Old farmhouse can sleep 7 or more, depending if upper bunks are not daunting. Cam always use floor space upstairs to put air matresses so still sleep 7. The house has two doubles, two fold out couches and floor space for air beds. With two baths. So luxury in a kind of way, but not expensive. We can use either, it both as needed. We can cook,.or plan to eat out, or share cooking duties, whatever. Just like visiting relatives without the pain! Lol. Camping for us oldsters who enjoy settling our bones on a soft surface, buy an outdoor experience in a really low key way.

Everybody, this is for anyone who can make it for a day or one or two nights, just to get together, your.only expense will be food and gas, and food can be cheap or upscale depending on what we decide. I should know tonight if we are locked in for that date. I am looking forward to seeing you guys! Much love to all!

Oh, I should mention, we still have highspeed internet yet, so if you have a laptop, feel free to bring it. I am hoping we can get at least a few people. BTW, if you want to bring spouses, they can come, we can always set up tents if necessary. They just will have to keep themselves busy while we talk and talk and perhaps shop and shop......LOL

Hello fellow Badger and Packer fans! I live between Portage and Baraboo and work in Madison. I was just diagnosed with IDC and had a lateral mastectomy last Wednesday. I'm still waiting for pathology results. I have appointment with surgeon next Monday to remove stitches/staples and drain tube (nervous about that!). Don't meet with oncologist until July 3rd. Did anyone not do reconstruction?

hi Gina, just logging in quick before date night and missed your message until now, so it looks like Thurs.  11:30 at Sunprint it is!

hi Lana, welcome!  I live in the southwest corner of the state but commute in to Madison for work.  I did not do reconstruction.  Would be happy to talk to you but am headed out soon.  Will be back on the board tomorrow evening.

    ((hugs)) to all.

Gina, great, see ya then!  This will be my first visit to Sunprint since they moved.  Nice review in last week's paper.

Monica, I'm in for the second weekend in August, too!  Wahoo sounds like fun!  I'll bring some wine.  Will send you a PM with my e-mail addy.  You should have my cell # but let me know if you need it again.  ;-)

Lana, good luck Monday!  I had two drains and it was such a relief to get them out.  Wasn't too painful but I did take a pain pill before I went.  Also a great tip I learned here is make sure the doc opens the drain bulb cap to release the suction.  Will make removal easier.

Fuzzy, thinking of you and hoping you're OK.  ♥

Kelli, I hope you can come. If someone is near you perhaps you could drive. Then you could just take it easy. But whatever works for you. I am excited about getting together. Very low key. Have a golf cart and four wheelers available to get around, dishes, utensils, pots pans, etc. All included. A few things planned, but will be very flexible.. I hope to see as many as possible.

Hi to all - just back from a chamber music workshop in North Carolina. If my DH lets me desert him again in August, I might be able to join you "up north"...

Kelli, I had DIEP in Milwaukee 2 years ago. My surgeon trained in Europe and has done hundreds of those procedures over the past several years. He has a partner for bilateral work otherwise you're on the operating table for twice as long. Sounds like Madison has specialists who can now offer that option. Hope you get a good result!

hi Mary, welcome back, sounds like a good time in NC.  Monica said spouses were OK unless anyone objected.  Your hubby is a companionable fellow so I for one wouldn't mind.  Anyone play chess?

Holy cow did it pour in Madison today!  Rained so hard I couldn't see the building next door.

    Happy Summer Solstice!  ♥

Hey all... I'm back after a break from the boards. "Real life" took over, which is good in some ways, because sometimes it seems my life is more about dealing with AI side effects and LE than anything else. But, the school year is over, my classroom is moved and painted, my home improvement project is completed, and I am ready to enjoy some summer.

Moon, I would love to come and meet you all in real life! I'm not sure about the 2 overnights. I have to work on a pet-sitter ( I have an older special needs pooch) but I can drive over for Sat. during the day for sure. I'm only 60ish minutes away. I'll look into my options and let you know soon!
Hi Kelli, welcome to the board and glad your surgery went well. Hang in there during the recovery!

hi all and welcome Annie!  Kelli, glad surgery went well and good you're resting.

GottaloveNED, good to see you back.  I'm planning to drive up Sat and stay overnight then drive home Sunday.  Gina's coming just for a day but I'm not sure which one, would assume Sat?

The back yard was full of fireflies last night!  ♥

Ooh, I'm getting excited! Sat. Will be fun. Well have a fire at night, unless , of course , the weather doesn't cooperate! LOL. We can go out for dinner, or cook over the fire. Whatever we want. We can even do it by ear. I just want to get together and relax and enjoy not being in tx. Much love.
