Hi, I have been lurking around the message boards for a while and finally decided to jump in and introduce myself. I had microcalcifications appear on a mammo last October. Rad decided we would revisit in 6 months. Well here we are and the calcs changed and had a stereotactic biopsy on May 3rd which revealed LCIS and ADH. I also have dense breasts (I am 43 and premenopausal with no kids). BS and I have decided next step is an MRI (scheduled for June 7th) and an excisional biopsy which will be scheduled after reviewing the MRI. While all of this was initially a shock, I am ok with the diagnosis. While I wish I did not have to deal with it, I am prepared to do whatever is necessary to stay on top of this. All of that being said...after lurking around the message boards, there are members here going through much worse than I am and I wish each and every one of you the best. I send good thoughts and prayers to all of you. Thank you!

Hi 2tails. There are quite a few of us here who are doing six month alternating MRIs & mammograms. I had/have ALH, LCIS & sclerosing adenosis. You're welcome to join us in the "waiting room".

2tails---I was diagnosed with LCIS at age 46, almost 10 years ago. My risk is further elevated by my mom's bc (ILC).  I had a lumpectomy, took tamoxifen for 5 years, have now been taking evista for about 4 years, and I continue with high risk surveillance of alternating mammos and MRIs every 6 months with breast exams on the opposite 6 months. It's a very personal choice, not one I made lightly. There are definitely pros and cons with either close surveillance, preventative meds or prophylactic mastectomies. I pray you get nothing but good results from your  MRI and your excisional biopsy. Please let us know how it goes.

Finally got an mri date. Having it Friday June 7th. I am actually eager to get it done and move to the next step. Not scared but anxiously waiting.

Mri results...nothing new shown. But they reiterated that breast density is still a problem even with mri. I take it as a win! Next step is excisional biopsy...date to be determined. I feel much better with this step over. I am guardedly optimistic.
