I know, me too.  But it feels good to debate it with them, doesn't it?  Working on a playlist for radiation and this last step for me.  If you want, I can share my chemo play list with you.  Helped me to sing along with my ipod with songs I selected (I want a new drug by huey lewis which was my ringtone on my phone for 4 months).  Since chemo ended, it was "the final countdown".  Time for a new one, just haven't decided which yet.  Might be radioactive by the firm.

GoWith-I'm going to need you to come sit with me during my chemo! (5 hour drive..not that far really . I think I could get through it way better! I am happy to think that when you start working with patients you are going to really lift their spirits!

So I asked my oncologist about the putting finger/toes on ice during so not to lose..he said he's not had a patient lose nails..maybe a bit loose is all...he said that that could do more damage to nerves...but could try if I wanted. Debating..I will probaly try to read more on this. 

Also, I will try and make this as G rated as possible, as you all know..my big source of stress..and more than a few tears..has been trying to stuff this one side of my bra to match my 1966 model breast that is left.  Can do the D cup but is too perky. My friends co worker use to work in an adult bookstore..she said that they sell a mix to where if you want a ..uh..reproduction of your hubby for when he's not around or in the mood (not sure mine is ever NOT in mood)..that you mix this stuff up and put on him..and peels off to make a ..uh..replica..so she thought I could do mix..plaster to remaining breast and then use in bra for MX side.  Thoughts?  Emotional outburst?

I mentioned this on the phone to my husband at which point, he quit breathing..lots of stammering..lol..conversation ended at this point.

Ckmoss, I also asked my onc about the ice and he didnt think it would help but I did it anyway and during my adriamycin and taxotere infusions I either kept ice or popsicles in my mouth because I got terrible mouth sores and thrush. I stayed on. the current chemo thread to pick up these tips so anybody that is doing chemo should checkout the chemo thread thats going on now. I trust my onc completely but he hasnt ever received chemo he has only read or heard about it. So I prefer to listen to my sisters who have gone thru it

I asked my oncologist today if I had a hysterectomy could I bypass the estrogen blocker, as it has nasty side effects..main one that concerns me is blood clots/poss pul emb...He said no because that apparently we have estrogen coming from adrenal (sp?) glands as well.  I'm still getting a hysterectomy next year..don't want this there..

Yes, I've been checking in to see, Sweet pickle..are you drainless? 

The lady that runs the Look Good Feel Good class had emergency so had to cancel classes...I was a little disappointed by that..but she said that I could do the class at another hospital Monday or do one on one with the lady at her salon.  Not sure best course or if it matters.  She said that if I have special concerns one on one would be helpful..like painting on eybrows,etc..

I had very restless night...still very sore at MX site, and have been off the meds for two days..had to pop a ibuprofin in the middle of the night. I have to see this new strange surgeon at 830am..then coming back to take a nap!

Ann-Did you get your drains out or is that today.  I lose track of my days being out and every day being about the same.

Sweetpickle must have got her drains out and she went dancing last night!

Hi Everyone!  I wasn't able to get on the forums last night for some reason, bummed me out.

Soooooo, the good doctor told me that pathology says no evidence of any cancer cells left in either the breast tissue or the lymph nodes which means no radiation needed and I am a go for reconstruction this Friday.  WooHoo I beat cancer!!!!!

I am very happy and it is the best news we could have gotten.  My Oncologist had told me that it was a rare thing to have that happen and he was standing in the hall when I came out of surgeons office.  I was like see, star patient here!  LOL

I haven't had a chance to catch up on posts yet, wanted to post my good news right away.  Hope everyone else is doing well!

 I have yet to stop my norco's too chicken to find out if I REALLY need them, but Im feeling good, so wish I could take a shower!!!! My daughter will be coming over today to wash my hair and to drive me to first post MX appt with PS.

Chest feels very tight with TE's and skin really not pliable, have no clue how many ccs were placed at time of surgery if any. Also if I remember correctly PS didnt have to cut muscle tooo place TEs???? Was quite enjoying my magic carpet ride while in the hospital. They really do look kinda nasty.

Curious when will I get the first office fill, do I massage them, any specific wound care??? want to compare with what mine says at appt

Oh and one other thing I HATE these drains!!!!

Gowiththe flow: Funny you should ask. I tried to explain to my hubby yesterday how I feel about all of this... and realized that I am in denial. "I feel guilty about everything everyone else has to do for me. I feel like I'm having elective surgery, and I'm making everyone work hard for something I don't need." He replies: "Don't be ridiculous. This is not elective surgery. You have cancer." I say something like "No I don't. Wait. I guess I do. Now I know why I feel guilty!"

Amazing what denial can do!  NOW I'm starting to get nervous. lol.

Steph- I felt that way too and my dh had to lecture me about doing to much to soon but then I look around the house at stuff that needs to be done and Im like arrrrhhhhhhhhhhh! LOL



I am slowly giving in and letting other people help me even if they do things differntly than the way I would like them done. I too feel guilty from time to time about now much extra work falls to dh and the kids while Im down from surgery. HUGS! You ar not alone!
