thanks Monastmomma and Mary, so would you both say its not painful or bothersome or uncomfortable? Like i mean its no big deal and you can live with it? Cause mone is very bad cannot live with it. HHMM do you mind me asking if you had anykind of reconstruction? Thanks Again
-
beacher4209-I would say that my pain bothers me every once in awhile but it's not a constant pain and I can live with it. I have not had any reconstruction-just lumpectomy and rads. I'm sorry you are having so much pain, and I hope you find some answers.
3monstmama-yay on the CA-125 test!
Hi MariannaHB! Long time no see! I don't think my radiated breast will ever be the same so I am not in the least bit surprised that you had a zit on your nipple! Nothing would surprise me anymore. Glad the doctor caught the precancerous mole.
Mary
-
3monstmama - glad to hear your test was good.
My mom moved to a retirement home a couple of years ago and we had to clear out her house. She's not necessariy a hoarder but she "collects" things and couldn't take all of her collections to her new apartment. I now have a lot of boxes in my basement that I need to go through. Watching an episode of Hoarders makes me feel better!
I haven't got the actual official report from the pelvic u/s yet...only the verbal "looks good" from the technician. My dd and I went to the doctor today for our second TwinRix shots and I checked with the nurse and the report hadn't come in yet. We're going to Mexico on Dec. 30th so figured we should get the shots.
-
Hi ladies...I got the offical report yesterday from the pelvic ultrasound and everything was normal.
Hi Mariana - I'm sure the mole brought back memories of the bc. So glad it was caught early!
Hope everyone is doing well and that all of our mammograms are good. It's hard to believe Christmas is almost here.
-
I just wish that the anniversary of my diagnosis and surgery weren't over the holiday season. I thought on Thanksgiving, "2 years ago, I was waiting to have my biopsy..." 2 years ago this weekend, I was going to holiday parties and worrying about the results of that biopsy. I had my surgery on December16th, and I spent Christmas wondering if I was going to have to have chemo. Not the best holiday season I've ever had, and the memories come back every year.
Mary
-
Mary - I know what you mean. Try to image how much better things were last year and even better this year. It's similar for me. My daughter turned 10 the day before I started chemo; she's turning 12 this Tuesday (Dec. 6th).
-
Hi-
Just got back from my mammogram. All clear! And better yet, the tech at my oncologist's only had to stick me once for my blood draw! I see my onco next Monday to go over my mammo and blood work, but at this point, all looks good.
Mary
-
Yay....congratulations Mary. What wonderful news!!
-
Sugar and Mary- so glad for the good news! That is great. I cannot believe Christmas time is coming at us so quickly. I can remember exactly what I was doing this time last year!! Stay well and have fun during the holidays, ladies.
-
Hi - I was reflecting back to two years ago on March 22nd when I started radiation and wanted to pop back here to say hi and see how everyone's doing.
-
Three years out and wondering if anyone else from this group still comes on these boards. Hope everyone's well

-
Hi CTMOM, nice to hear from you. I'm doing well. I stop by to check the site every so often. Glad to hear you are doing well. Maybe other's will see this thread active and stop by and give us an update, too.
-
Hi Sugar - Wonderful to hear from you and absolutely fabulous to learn that all is well! This thread really was such a comfort to me when going through scary rads and OMG those slam dunks were just the things I needed at the time! Still makes me smirk to remember slam dunking those awful robes, ahahahahaha, I can remember a tech seeing me do it once and I just smiled at him and said that was my "F-U cancer" tradition to mentally get through the zaps, and that those slam dunks were the highlight of the experience. I remember crying with that final slam dunk, and the tears just poured out as I drove home. Stay well and hope others do post here.
-
I'm still here! I go for my round of check ups in June, but so far everything has been good. I mostly just lurk and read on the boards these days, and I'm not on as much as I was during treatment.
Mary

Hi Mary - Yay, glad to hear from another and so wonderful that all is well! The night before my annual diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound is quite restless, and I've come to expect 4 hours in the waiting room on average (no exaggeration) -- watching people come in after me and leave before me, and usually called in for a few more pictures -- always keeping fingers crossed that the worst is behind me. That is the new reality and I am grateful to have not had any further issues.
Wishing you good inner peace the night before your June check up and that all goes uneventfully well!
-
HI!! I'm still here, too, sort of. I don't come to the boards very often anymore...
Happy "three years" to all of us!

Good luck with your June check ups, Mary. My check ups are in February & March, and everything went well this year. No signs of cancer, and I'm feeling good!
-
Hi Raili,
Wonderful, wonderful to hear from you and glad you are feeling well! Congratulations on good news this year, and when I have my annual check-up in August (oh just thinking about it actually makes me nervous) I will likely still do a gentle slam dunk of the (dehumanizing) gown.
-
Hi guys,
I'm another in/out person. Things have been pretty busy so I don't check boards as often as I once did.
so nice to hear that everyone is doing well!
-
Hi ladies!
Great to touch base with u guys & hear u are all doing well!
I visit the threads occasionally. I'm doing great, got married last year & have run 7 marathons since 2010!
Have a check up with my surgeon tomorrow, but had a normal mammo & u/s in Jan so I'm not worried!
Take care, x -
So wonderful to hear from two more from our group and that all is well - Hi 3monstmama and TreadSoftly!
-
Hi, wow..lots of activity on this threat the past few weeks. I remember the slam dunk. That brought us all some laughs during a most difficult time.
I'm getting ready for my daughter's grade 8 graduation. Having been through breast cancer, I'm sure we can all relate that these types of celebrations are more meaningful than ever. My daughter was in grade 5 when I was diagnosed and went through treatment. We are also taking a family trip to the British Isles on a cruise this summer (England, France, Ireland and Scotland). It's to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary and our daughter going on to secondary school.
I hope this thread stays active as it's so nice to hear from you wonderful ladies!
-
Hi-
Had my MRI this past week, and my 6 month check up, and I am still cancer free! Yay! I am, however, still nowhere near menopause at 53. My onco says I'm a perfect candidate for the 10 years of Tamoxifen that is recommended in the Atlas study. I'm OK with that-I've had no real problems with it. Anything I can do to help prevent recurrence is fine with me!
Mary
-
Sugar, that sounds like a great trip!!!
Mary, congrats on more cancer-free check-ups! Hooray!
-
Sugar - Hope you had a wonderful 15th anniversary British Isles cruise! We'll be at 20 years this October, so exciting!
Mary - Congratulations on the latest check-up!
Very happy to report here that all went fine with my annual diagnostic mammo (although was there for nearly 5 hours, they are very thorough, radiologist called me back in for extra mammo pics and an ultrasound on the good side when "something" showed up, quite stressful, but thankfully all is fine) -- so 4 years out and going strong! At 48, still pre-menopausal, never began tamoxifen and content with that decision.
