Singing Bugs Singing, very off key and forgetting some of the words ( learned this song in jr. High glee club lol) haven't sung it since, but singing I am!!!!!!
-
Why the vitamin k Mary? Never heard about that.
My nails are okay but I have the ridges and a white line just below the tips that looks like it will break off so sounds like yours Tricia.
-
I used NONO on my face! Really, thaty's the freaking hair that grew in second...the first was my mother's chin hair.
-
maryah - i totally have the chin whisker (from my father's mom) and the peach fuzz on my face as well. For some reason I thought my hair would grow back more strategically.
-
I love this board. Cracks me up! In a warm, fuzzy way.....maybe a peachfuzz , whisker way. Was so bizarre to use a tweezer for the first time. I even kept a shampoo coupon. Planning ahead.

You couldn't make this shit up. My mum has just turned 50 (she was a teenage mum) and called me an hour ago to say she has been dx with BC. She found out on Tuesday but I was on holiday and she didn't want to ruin my break. I can't believe this. Feels like someone is playing some sort of sick joke.
-
Oh wow Michelle thats horrible news. I pray that they caught it early.
-
hugs, michelle.
-
Thanks. I don't think I got this upset when I was diagnosed myself. I feel like I've been kicked in the gut. I can't lose my mum. I just can't.
-
Michelle your not going to lose your mum!!! Don't even think that way, how do you think she felt when you were diagnosed - she was scared - worse than you were.... She will need to lean on you and look at all the good advice you have for her...Things will work out, just look - we (on this board) all have/had breast cancer and we are still here to talk about it...Chin up girl and prayers are coming your way...
-
Macy is that a new picture of you -- looks good!!!
-
Got my first waxing! Didn't think I would be this thrilled.
-
Michelle I am SO sorry....
-
Michelle ~ Hugs and my thoughts are with you.
-
Yes Bugs thats me!I'm kinda liking the short hair look, my hubby loves it. This pic was taken before I learned to like it.
-
Macy - I made up my mind never to let my hair get tooooo long again - if it wasn't so curly, I could live with this 1 1/2 inch hairdo - maybe when it's 4" I'll keep it like that..so easy, I can shower, dress, put on my makeup and be out the door in 20 minutes now!
-
Question: Anyone on the hormone blockers? Have you or your family noticed that you get irritated and even grumpy lately...I am pissed at everyone today!!!! but not at you girls.... I screamed at everyone this afternoon - little things set me off....
-
5Luv ~ What did I get waxed? I use NO NO on my face, I have little to no hair growth on my underarms, had to shave my legs for a graduation party the day before, and would never wax my head, which leaves .....
-
Mary - Oh, so that explains the position of your legs in your avitar~~~
... Go for it girl!!!!
-
Sick of Pink, I am reading your book as fast as I can, I'm really enjoying it but I'm only up to Chapter8 because you actually have to sit still to read and when I do that I usually fall asleep...Hope all you girls who bought her book, What a Mother Knows, are faster readers then me .
Girls, I was washing the kitchen floor the other day and dropped the whole bucket of water - slipped and slid across the floor- landed on my big ole butt, screamed for help
, crawled across the floor drenched - could have broken my hip but lucky for me I was saved by the fat on my ass!!!!
Moral of the story - It doesn't pay to clean and sometimes fat is good
Love ya!
-
hahaha, you girls crack me up! Keep up the good times, I love it.
-
Hahahahaha Bugs you are so funny!!!! You keep me laughing. Love your humour. Reading your post always brighten my day. Love you girl!!!
-
Oh crap Michelle! You will be her rock, i know it.
Yes Luvbugs, kepp at at. Forget cleaning... Haha.
Im on hormone blockers now too but dudnt notice irritability as mych as stiff joints and arthritic rype feelings in feet and toes - and hot fkashes again. Antidotes?
What was that Special K for?
My hair is finally growing but faster on legs!
You guys exhausted?
My DD no longer feels bad for me. It's her turn for surgery (unrelated) and she just banished me from preop room cuz I was 'breathing too loud'!
And we're back! But not really... -
Sick of Pink ~ EXTREME fatigue with Femera. I was put on Focalin on Friday. So far, it's working too well. I cut the dose in half.
-
Lovebugs....Im not sure if my irratibility has to do with being pushed into menpause or if it is the hormone blockers..I do know I hurt...anytime I sit to long it hurts to get up! But we just got a dog and so I am walking with DH after sitting on my but all winter...and I finally feel good enough to do stuff...I dont hurt if I keep moving..
I dont have enough brows yet to wax...and I had to renew my licence because my birthday is next week and all I could think is really I need to have this picture for the next 8 years...I think it will be tough because it has been a tough year!
-
Looks like everyine is feeling better or moving on. Been time to pass the torch and help others, when people find out - and now I go without headcover more - I end up on the phone with newbies at night. Still achy & more transfusions, but getting used to arridex. The piece I wrote about feeling ugly and depressed and guilty for my new husband is in the NYT Modern Love column today. Hope you guyes enjoy it if you get a chance.
My first appt back with surgeon and followup mammo is tmro, kinda nervous.

Best of luck tomorrow, Sickofpink!
I haven't worn anything on my head for about a month now and it sure does feel great... despite the stares!

Sickofpink, hope you made out excellent at the surgeons & Mammo.
Your article in the NY Times was great and I feel so honored to know first hand, all that you wrote is from the heart, and that we, your BC sisters. were here with you during the low point in your life because it was our low point also but look how far you and all of us have come...Good job girlfriend.
-
