I am two years out from chemo, but my DH and I stayed sexually active during chemo. Nothing specifically should prevent that for you. We were not active in the day or two immediately after a treatment, but certainly the rest of the time. It meant a lot to me because it made me realize how strong were my DH's love and attraction. Bald, hairless, and lopsided, and I could still turn him on
Some have issues with dryness, sex drive, etc., but there are possible solutions to those issues as well. If you and your partner are feeling it, go for it!

I was specifically advised by the oncology nurses to use condoms - this was not for birth control as I have had a complete hysterectomy - but for prevention of infection for me as the soft tissues are easily injured, and prevention of exposure to chemo drugs for him by use of a barrier. I say if you both want it - go for it!

We avoided sex in the time of chemotherapy.

My Dh and I were active during treatment. It was one of the things that we both looked forward to, the intimate bonding. It never ceased to amaze me that he was still interested during treatment with me being bald, puffy, pale, etc.

Sex was the last thing on my mind during chemo. We tried a couple of times, but my SEs kept me from enjoying much. It's not that we didn't want to, nor that we didn't want each other, and sex was something we talked alot about, but I simply couldn't seem to do it. Instead, we focused on physical contact and emotional intimacy, and for many reasons this was actually very good for both of us. Lots of snuggling, hunkering down in bed for the day watching movies, relaxing and simply "being". In many ways it was wonderfully intimate, and really brought us closer together.

I didn't have the energy or drive during chemo. Being put into chemo-pause really did a number on me. It took about a year after last treatment to have any drive at all, and even then it was painful. But at about the 2 year mark, everything went back to normal.

DH and I had sex through the first three months of chemo off and on, probably every 10-14 days. But we had to stop towards the end as I was having vaginal dryness and it got painful even with lubrication.
I've been done with chemo for a year now and things are about 70% back to normal.

I have just finished my 4 AC treatments and starting Paxlitaxol in next couple weeks. The chemo has definitely affected our sex life. However my man also has been ill and had surgery over this 3 months so we have both been 'broken' so to speak. We used to have sex 4/5 times a week - and have probably only had sex 6 times since chemo started. We both know it will get better and it's just a stage! It does feel strange that this part of our life together has taken a back seat but our love is still strong and we will get through this. It is definitely a challenge to feel sexy when bald, a surgically scared body, a blue boob (dye still there 4 months after SND), nauseous and tired.
