Alyson, what a beautiful picture!  Their happiness really shines!

Yes Suntrek, bc has a way of putting everything in perspective and showing us what's most important, doesn't it?  Wish we could have learned it in an easier way, though.

Onco visit a week ago--good to go for 6 months, pending mammogram which I've scheduled for late June.  (Had to be after June 20 for insurance to pay so that worked out fine, since vacation is June 15-22.  New onco did a breast exam (3rd time I've seen him) and said he felt absolutely nothing, so big sigh of relief.

Lisa, what are those beautiful flowers?  I should know, but can't think of it.

    Has anyone heard from Elisimo?

    Kathy

Hi Ladies, Just turned 60 in March of this year.  Had a well woman exam in Feb and found out I had BC. Here's a little bit more of my medical history.  I have severe arthritis, severe tendonitis, hemorrhaging diveritculosis for over 10 years that puts me in the hospital once or twice a year --usually for a 4-5 day stay with  a blood transfusion, and in March, I had a mastectomy for the BC.  I take more pills than I can name and now that I am on hormone therapy, I am not sure what pills are causing the side effects. I do know since starting the HT, I have aches, pains, hot flashes, sweats and mood swings,  ---usually depression.   I have a lovely family of three grown sons--oldest 41--youngest 33 and three grandkids between 14 and 2. However and a hard time sleeping; I live alone.  My ex-husband ran away with a woman 20 year younger than us both, after almost a 30 year marriage--6 years ago.  I have dealt very well with all of the other issues, illnesses; ambulance on call for the diverticulosis, specialist coming out of my rear end for each of my problems- even while working a full time teaching job, but this BC is trying to beat my butt. And--all these new BC doctors are making it hard to juggle my other needs.  The biggest challenge is living alone--late at night thinking of BC with no one to share with can be defeating. Does anyone else on this site ive alone while dealing with BC?  Thank God for  you ladies and this site.

Hi and welcome dwilli, I have "seen" you on another thread. I just turned 60 last Nov so I hang around with older and middies. Man, you have a lot going on. This getting older takes some stamina, don't cha know.

I live alone most of the time. My D(ear)D(aughter) is visiting right now, but she heads back west tomorrow morning. We use a bunch of abbrevations around here. Of course, I have my loving dog, but not the same as human company. My kids are 27 and 25, no grandkids yet. This website has saved  me from feeling so alone. My parents, sister and my husband have all passed on. I spent a lot of time taking care of them and the kids. Now I'm taking care of myself and find it is almost a full time job. lol

So come often, stay late, and chat away.

ha ha, I had that car for 11 years. What was I thinking? It was pale blue originally and I thought it was too boring.

Hi Dwilli and welcome! Glad you found us.....pull up a comfy seat, grab a cup of coffee or tea (or any other beverage....lol) and chat away.........sometimes we get busy but someone always checks in.

Girl you sure have a lot going on and I can sure understand trying to keep all your appointments in order you almost need a secretary!  What med are you on for the BC?  Is it one of the AI's?  They sure can cause some aches and pains but movement and glucosamine does help enough to get you reasonable.  Being from down under, I'm usually here when everyone else is sleeping so check in when you can't sleep.

Nancy that car is amazing!  You never told us you were so talented with a paint brush!.......naughty girl.....you should keep that sort of thing to yourself.

Got back from the city about half an hour ago and I'm pretty bushed but happy to report the dermatologist has declared me clear for another year........yahooo!!!

    Love n hugs all!    Chrissy

Dwilll, Those aches, pains, hot flashes, sweats and mood swings,  ---usually depression could all be from the Arimidex. They might get better in a few months. I know they use a small dose of Effexor for hot flashes. It's an antidepressant but not at such a low dose. Some people have problems getting off it--I didn't. Those middle of the night thoughts are pretty scary. Have you tried using the chat rooms here? I think a lot of those people are not sleeping and keeping each other company.

Mac, I want that car. DS painted red and black ants swarming over his beige car. He said it seemed to attract scientology literature.
