Absolutley Terrified
Hello Everyone,
My wife and I were both diagnosed with cancer a little over 2 years ago within 3 months of each other. Mine was testicular and hers was HER2+ stage 2 breast cancer. We have both been inremision since our treatments. She had a lumpectomy, chemo and radiation.
Yesterday she told me that for the past 10 days she has had warmth and tenderness in the same breast that was treated with slight redness. She was due for an MRI and lab work in 2 weeks and just got an appointment to see her radiation oncologist in one hour.
She was diagnosed at 39yo while 36 weeks pregnant.
We were told the odds of her getting this while pregnant were extremely high as well as me getting TC at the age of 41 because it is very rare. I am hoping to god we aren't getting a 3rd odds topper since IBC is also extremely rare.
I just needed a place to share.
Thank you.
Alan

Hoping that it turns out to be something easily treated. You've been through a lot, best wishes to you both.

That's what we are here for. We are sorry for all you are going through, and hoping that it is nothing!
Please though, let us know how it turns out, and vent all you need.
Warmly,
The Mods

Alan - the "not knowing" is excrutiating. Thankful to know that she was able to get an appointment quickly and will be praying that there is some benign explanation for the discomfort. You all have had more than your share of challenges. Wishing you peace and health...

Hi everyone.
Her RO, who we trust very much, told her that she did not think this was IBC but an infection. She reitterated that she has seen IBC and this does not appear to be the case and she would see my wife in two weeks for her scheduled follow up.
This Dr. was our first choice as she has seen Tania since the beginning and is highly regarded in the field. Now we put our faith in her (and the antibiotics).
Thank you all and God bless,
Alan
P.S. I truly pray that I do not find myself back here in 2 weeks time.

Well the heat has gone away but she still has pains as well as itching and flaking now on her nipple.
We are calling her oncologist this morning to try and get her follow up moved up as this is driving us crazy.
Hopefully we can get the MRI moved to this week sometime. In the meantime the itching and a bit of flaking has us worried. We're just trying to stay positive and hope that the odds stay on our side (which they haven't in the past).
