Hoping it's not IBC
Hello everyone,
I posted here last week when my wife had developed a "hot" left breast that was slightly more pink than the other one as well as pains in there.
She was diagnosed with breast cancer in the same breast 2 years ago. She got in to see her radiation oncologist who looked at it and said that she has seen IBC and this does not look like it. Antibiotics were prescribed and they seem to have helped a little, she is on day 8 of 10. There is no swelling and the heat is gone.
Tonight she told me that her nipple is itching and when she looked there was dried flaky skin as well.
She is scheduled to meet with her oncologist to follow up in a week and then has her 3 month check up with a mammogram and mri slotted for 2 weeks out.
We are very scared at this point as I was diagnosed with testicular cancer 6 months before her diagnosis. In addition she was 35 weeks pregnant with our daughter at the time. We were told that statistically she was too young for hers and I was too old for mine let alone in that close together. The thought of this and what it would do to our 7 year old son having to go through this again is so difficult.
I know that these could be something else as well but the feeling I have right now is that of despair. So many bad things happened to us in such a short time and we are just starting to move forward away from our treatments and building better memories.
Does anyone have any advice?
We are going to see about moving the follow up apointment up to this week if possible. That is all that our minds are on right.
Thank you.
Alan

Alan,
The MRI should show something. Mammos do not p/up ibc unless ultrasound is done with it. I was not able to get in right away and had to wait about 3-4 weeks but was diagnosed right away & started treatment within 2 weeks.
Insist on the MRI and possible biopsy if any suspicions are there.

MRI, u/s and mammo came back ok but the breast symptoms are still there. Her oncologist just sent her for a punch biopsy.
Well, I can definately say that if there was any doubt of being scared before we are now.
Any words of wisdom from anyone?
thank you
