Touching base to see if anybody is up for a LA get together? Any suggestions?
-
I'm always up for it. But, my DIEP is scheduled for 5/24. Love to do it before then.
-
I had my surgery 2 weeks ago today and am off work at the moment so am pretty flexible, what and where sounds like a good meeting place?
-
I'm having surgery 5/21/13 would love to squeeze something in before that too:)
-
How about a walk along colorado bl in Pasadena and a stop for a bite to eat for lunch. Anybody interested? Friday may 9th, Sat may 11 or Sunday may 12?? Or if anybody has any other ideas? Would love to get together.
-
Love a get together. Sadly the 10th is not good, the 12th is Mother's day so I'm not available. Saturday I have an afternoon and an evening thing (my life is overfull right now), but maybe a morning/midday gethering would work.
Hopefully we can do this before you having surgery have it.
-
Judy, sounds like you are very busy these days, I forgot it was mothers's day, thanks for the heads
) let's plan another time.
I am planning on going to the meeting next Wednesday, hope to see you there. -
Yes, my daughter just broke her arm yesterday and may need surgery. Mine is scheduled for the 21st, so I am going to plan AFTER....
See you all soon
-
Hi ladies! This entire month is not good for me, am in and out of town. How about June?
DM13: Why are you having more surgery? How is your daughter? Hope all is well.
-
Ren,
I have having revision work done on the side that needed to have the mastectomy re-done. Also, need some fat grafting on the other side to hide ridges in implants...
I have spent most of the weekend at Kaiser for my daughter with her broken arm. They are deciding this week if they are going to operate. It is such a bad break, I want to throw up every time I think about it.
I hope you are doing well. You and I live so close, I'm sure I could squeeze in a cup of coffee on of these mornings. Let me know
-
I have evening meetings every day this week, so I'm not sure if I'll bail on Wednesday or not. I'd like to go, but it just might be too much.
-
Ladies ur talking about WeSpark on Wednesday? Is it 3rd Wed. of each month? I will try for June!
DM13, I hope your daughter's arm is OK! Poor thing. {{{hugs}}} Will def. meet you for coffee, but it'll have to be after your surgery (when I get back). Good for you for moving ahead with the niggly aspects of the final recon process. I am putting on the surgical brakes for at least a year.
Hope all y'all are doing well!
-
Judy, sounds like you have a busy week, hope to see you Wednesday.
Renn, yes wespark on 3rd Wednesday, hope to meet you in June.
DM, hope things work out for your daughter and everything heals well. -
My susrgery, DIEP, is May 24th.
I'll be in Glendale on Wednesday, May 15th (tentatively).
Otherwise, it will be late June for me.
Dawn ((HUGS)) to your daughter. Hope all goes well.
-
You guys are awesome...
Side note, any thoughts on Angelina? I read her article and she makes the whole process seem like a summers breeze... lol. Joking aside, I hope she can inspire people to get tested if breast cancer runs in the family, it's better to be proactive.
-
Any of you on Twitter? We've been tweeting all day about A.J.
I do think it was brave she went public. And I hope this moves the discussion beyond awareness.
Finding cancer is the easy part... keeping rogue cells from spreading is the key.
Good luck with surgeries, keep us posted on daughter!

just saw this thread. .... I live in West Hills/Canoga Park and would be interested in get togethers. Just had implant exchange 4/25 and find out next week when my ovaries are coming out.

You and I must live very close. I'm between Fallbrook and Shoup - North of Sherman Way. Give me a call and we can grab a cup of coffee.

On Angelina: Awareness is great. I've seen some pretty negative press about her choice and have tried to hold my tongue. Alas, I did not have a choice. But, in her place I would have made the same. I support her choice of treatment. I support her going public, even though it would have gotten out anyway. She truly has the best doctors and I hope her publicity goes beyond 'this happened to me' and she steps up for prevention awareness.
-
Mary - I didn't mean to come across as against Angelina's choice. If I was in her shoes I would have done the same thing. But she did say some things that I thought she could have been a little more careful about... For example, I know someone that had a similar procedure, and three months later, she still has massive pain. Also - I, personally do feel less of a woman, in fact, I kinda feel like Frankenstein, lol. When I first read her article, her "superwoman" ability gave me a sour feeling about myself...
Good luck this week:)
-
Dawn, good luck tomorrow! Will send good thoughts
-
Thank you Shawna. See you soon!
-
definitely!!
-
No problem, Dawn. We all have a little different take on the whole thing. We have all had different experiences.
-
Hi ladies! Just found this thread. I live out by Riverside in Corona, is that close enough to join this group?
