Hello ladies,

Here are two interesting articles from Australia.  Researchers are developing a lymph sleeve to help LE patients.

http://www.abc.net.au/science/articles/2013/05/06/3730649.htm - "Artificial muscles to ease lymphoedema"

http://www.illawarramercury.com.au/story/1485233/smart-materials-give-artificial-muscles-life/?cs=300 - "Smart materials give artificial muscles life".

Biomecanics and nanotechnology for lymphedema.  Still a long way to go but it will be interesting to follow further developments of this "intelligent sleeve".

The article with the photo makes me think of a bionic arm!  And that's what I call my LE arm, because it's noticeably stronger than my unaffected arm when I'm lifting weights in the gym.  This is fascinating, Nitocris.  Thanks for posting!

Nitocris, thanks for this. I'll be eager to follow their progress.Smile Any of our Aussie friends live close enough to give this a try? We'd love a first-hand report!

Well, if they have LE wizards who can give us automated MLD that's built into a sleeve, I'm quite willing to believe it's really Oz!  (Too bad that unlike the scarecrow who visits Oz, we can't just have our lymphatic vessels re-stuffed and then get on our way, good as new!)

Crossing my fingers that they will pull this off. I will gladly give my eye teeth for this opportunity. Seriously take my teeth and give me the sleeve.I really mean it. I could lose my vainess and go without teeth if it meant a better arm.

Just had a reply from my LEist after asking her about it and she said " one of the therapists on our committee has been involved with this and told us all about it a few years ago." (emphasis mine) Surprised....and that she wasn't sure where theyre up to now... WOW...indeed I wonder where theyre up to now.

hugz lol at least you get a choice... I have a horrible feeling Im going to lose a double tooth very soon. Very sensitive on and off, and its been holding on...just.... since I had it filled last year. ACCKK - I can think of better things I'd rather be doing than having this out. Still, have a tooth pulled is but for a moment, LE is forever... so, I hear you..
