Hi,

I did a BMX two weeks ago as my surgeon found some DCIS in my right breast. But today, when I got the result, it turned out I not only have DCIS in my right breast, I also had IDC (0.15cm grade 1) in the "healthy" left breast, which sounds much worse than the DCIS. I was so brave to opt for BMX, instead of UMX. It seems that my doctor won't recommend chemo, but recommend tamoxifen.

I was scared scared scared. I'm 23 and in a stable relationship. I'm really really grateful that my dear boyfriend is really supportive. We are planning to get married next year and then have kids. But tamoxifen really prevents us to have kids in the near future. I read some of the posts here, and it seems that I can have a break for having baby after taking tamoxifen for two years. This is definitely great news!

I don't know what's the point I'm posting here, I just want support. Also please share with me about your experience about preganancy after tamoxifen.

Thanks a lot!

PS: I'm going to see my oncologist team tomorrow. Hope everything will go well.

I am so sorry to see you here in the club that we would love to shut down.  If you go to Young Survival Coalition there are some women who have gone on to have a family after a breast cancer diagnoses.

I am 34 so not as young as you but my oncologist also told me after two years I could come off tamoxifen to have a baby. I'm guessing he'd want me to go back on it after that. He said the hormonal effects in terms of breast cancer while pregnant are the same as while on tamoxifen.

    Xx Kk
