Hello everyone. I have recently started working out using the Walk Away The Pounds DVDs, and while they are a good workout I find them a bit boring.

I remember way back in the 80's when aerobic dance classes were popular how much I loved the dance moves and the great music! I am wondering if any of you could suggest DVD that uses dancing and great music (I was a Disco girl back in the day) that really gets you going? I love to dance and find it so much easier to "get up off of that thing" and move when the music is right.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Cyndi

Hi Cyndi, I am not a DVD workout person but I take a dance class at a gym (I too was a disco queen) anyways I think Richard Simmons is relaunching all of his stuff on DVD and it was lots of fun, come on over to the Let's Post our Daily Exercise thread and ask there, we all do different things and there are lots who workout at home.

I'm a big fan of the Zumba class at my local YMCA. I've never used the videos, but I know there are a lot out there. Maybe your local library has some you could try?

Another idea is to get a line dance workout or an instructional DVD.  I have "Line Dance 101" (Shawn Trautman).  It is an instructional DVD but you can learn the moves and then you can get some songs to line dance to and not have to use a DVD at all at that point.  I also have "Dance Off the Inches: Country Line Dance".

A friend in my weight loss program loaned me her Zumba DVDs so I could try them before I ordered some for myself.

After just 30 minutes of watching the Basics video and trying to imitate the moves, my lower back hurt so bad I had to quit and lie down!

WAAAAY too much jumping and jarring movement for this poor old arthritic spine with Anastrozole SEs....

I'll stick to my water aerobics class, and hopefully will find a treadmill that will fit in my hobby room, so I can watch a movie and walk at the same time.

I just love any of the Richard Simmons videos/DVDs - also love Jacki Sorenesen's Aerobic Dancing classes and videos!
