hyperbaric chamber
Hello everyone. I'm wondering if anyone out there has any experience with a hyperbaric chamber? I developed an infection after my exchange surgery and lost my left implant. All plastic surgeons lean towards doing a flap procedure which I am NOT interested in as I am just out of patience. Another plastic surgeon recommended trying to use the hyperbaric chamber to regenerate the radiated skin and then use a tissue expander to expand it one more time. I am interested in this idea as it is so much less invasive than the other procedure but I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience with it?

are you at Beaumont? I went there for a consultation. My fear is that because the doctors disagree with this procedure that I will not end up with good results as possibly my skin is too thin to regenerate. I do not have a wound that needs to be cured I simply have extremely thin skin to to the radiation, etc. Do you have any success stories you could share?

Stay away from Hyperbaric Options. They pray on the needy for money. I was one of them. You can read my story here

go to a proper hyperbaric centre if you choose that route, dont purchase one...

Hi HBB,
I had the exact same thing happen to me. I lost my implant after two years due to a severe infection in my radiated skin. I had to have hyperbaric oxygen therapy to close the wound. It has finally closed. I have also been putting aloe vera on my skin. Did you have more reconstruction?

I opted not to go the hyperbaric chamber route and waited until my skin heal naturally.
