sheila, I think you are right, it'll come down to Kree and Angie, I wonder if Angie will do both songs on the piano.  Kree knew she was safe when she stood next to Angie, and since I am doing a clothe's critique tonight, I think Amber had a wedgie, talk about short and tight - wow.

Cookiegal, the only ranking was Amber and Candice  as the bottom two and Kree and Angie as the top two, then Ryan announced no one was going home, that since the judges didn't use their save, thus eliminating one week from the schedule, no one was leaving this week.

I don't like the "surprise twist" (that we all had read that there would be four after tonight anyway) and here's why:

In a regular week, if a person is in the bottom two or three, it's a wake up call and they have to improve to have a better chance the following week.

Last night Ryan said the votes will carry over to next week, so Amber and Candice don't have to just come out and sing killer songs, they have to do so with a deficit of votes.  They are starting off in a hole, so even if they have the most fabulous songs, they still have to come from behind on (how many?) votes, not to mention perform on stage with the stress of knowing all that.  I'm sorry, I don't think that is really fair to the girls.

AI format going from bad to worse.

I like all of the top 4, glad they didn't have to send anyone home this week. but Angie is  still my top favorite to win. she was fantastic in both her songs.

My guess is that after Janelle left, Kree is now getting ALL of country votes, which moved her up into the top votes along with Angie.  If Angie continues to perform well, you could be correct in saying that she will win.  The question will then be... is she willing to go outside of what she wanted to do "christian pop/rock" and perform Pop music like Kelly Clarkson did.  Could she become a big star? Possibly because she is very good.  Kree is o.k., but she really needs to learn how to turn on the charisma and "perform"  she really lacks something in the personality dept. when she performs to an audience.  I think that has been a lot of her down fall with getting more votes not necessarily that she doesn't sing the song well.  She also needs to dress a little better for the stage... She needs to think more Miranda Lambert and some of the younger female country artists when she dresses than Martina McBride (whom I love), but Martina is well established and can dress any way she pleases... this young woman is 23 and needs to dress young and certain way to appeal to the younger audiences.  Sorta like Angie is doing... she has the right idea.  No, Kree isn't as small but she isn't huge either and she certainly can dress a certain way that will be appealing, youthful and fun that will brighten her image along with selling herself and her music.  O.k.  I'm done~!

So, last week was their last chance to use the save then.  Because last night wasn't really a save, no one sang for the judges.  They just had an extra week and said, "Everybody's safe!" which was really anticlimactic.

So the real thing is they basically slapped Janelle in the face last week and said, "No, we're not using our save on you even though this is the last possible week."  They still would have ended up with the same number of girls today, and Janelle might have been able to sing her way back into the competition - she would have had another chance.

Like you said, Elimar, this way Candice and Amber are starting in the hole - this does an injustice to them, too.

Are the producers on AI thinking, how can we possibly alienate our fan base even more?

That's why I was so mad when my DVR cut off last week.  How on earth did they justify not using the save when it was the last week?  Did Ryan question them about it?

    They did wrong to Janelle......

I didn't like the twist or the surprise ending

Producers or the judges are messing with the show and they are doing lot of damage...

I think Ryan Seacrest is the only one left who I like

Amen Sheila!! you said it well Wink the judges and producers have doomed this show this year by messing with something that wasn't broke and by adding the likes of NM and MC and the other big mistake... "Listening to the press say that NM was the savior for the show" I mean really? Do these people not look at ratings, do they not read blogs, do the not look at twitter and facebook? Hello!!! It's out there... people in the age that should be watching this show and liking this show, voting and enjoying this show have LEFT the Building!!!! they have all said it's boring, terrible judging this year and most have said that they sent home many singers that should have made the top 10 and picked mediocre singers.  There were a few that they got right, but there were a few they just plain got wrong.  Another big mistake they made was not letting the audience vote on who made it through to the top 10... it's always been this way and it shouldn't have changed this year.  JMO and millions of others of course.  The producers should have realized that they couldn't turn AI into a show closely resembling the Voice.  That is a seperate entitiy unto itself. I don't want another voice... I want the old Idol :)

I find NM especially annoying. I also find her terribly inappropriate. Throughout the season, If a male judge had said the things she said, he would have been censured. But overall, the show has turned the focus on the judges instead of the contestants. I agree that it has lost its lustre. In fact, almost boring.
