Ducky - come on, get out of bed and celebrate your birthday.  Happy, happy birthday!

As for my dental issues - always had three cleanings/year and took care of things but he says loss of teeth and dental health with BC treatment is usual, not unusual.

Glad you have next week off, Sandy - sucks to feel like crap so much.  I hope little-one therapy has been helping take the edge off.

I hope they get rid of that infection soon, Diane.  Is adjacent tooth another implant or natural?  I hope it doesn't get damaged.

I hope the PT does the trick, Linda.  I'm a firm believer in PT.  But I won't have it anymore unless I'm desperate - they charged me so much more for it a couple yrs ago than they did a couple yrs before that.  My insurance sucks. And "D"H is an employee - figures the company gives the employees a crappy plan.  well, crappy unless you have cancer - I suppose I can't complain about paying $5500 out of pocket for my cancer treatment.  But I will complain about what I paid for PT for DD and myself a couple yrs ago(2010).  AND I just got a quarterly stmt and they are still F-ing around with the charges for it!!!!!!  I hate Cigna so much.  I'm afraid to go to the doctor because it is more likely than not that I will have a billing problem and not be able to get my money back.   They totally F'd up DD's speech therapy billing (for her paradoxical vocal fold motion disorder - is there anything NOT wrong with that kid?) -I ended up paying cash because they said they wouldn't pay - the provider billed them anyway and then insurance paid out of my flexible spending - at a higher rate - so I ended up paying twice.  The provider sent the money back to Cigna and I never got credited for one of the visits (I think)  Seriously - I hate them so much.

Well - I'm still positionally dizzy - but it doesn't make me feel sick like last Monday - so at least I can function without feeling sick.  Last week was the week from hell at work.  I had been having a bad day every other day - then I had 2 good days - followed by 3 bad days.  We were short staffed.  Lead tech went home and cried one day.  Saturday I went into the breakroom for my lunch(which I forgot) and started to cry myself but then had to work really hard to stop so I wouldn't mess up my face.  They could probably tell I had been crying - my left eye was red and I think my forehead was red (I turn red very easily).   I couldn't have felt more incompetent.  It's kind of not my fault though - some people had some weird situations that I shouldn't be expected to know about.

So last night was DD's concert.  I'm sitting in the back with my camcorder on the tripod all happy with myself ready to record the concert.  It's time to record and I can't get the thing to start recording.  I was pushing the wrong button.  And I couldn't really see the camera to look for what button I needed to push and I missed the beginning of the concert.  AND in changing settings to see why it wouldn't record (there is also a camera setting for taking pictures) I took a picture or two by mistake - with flash.  No sooner do they say no flash photography please, do I take a couple pictures trying to record a video.  I was in the very back, so I stood up to try to move my tripod into what little light there was to try to see the thing to find the right button and I still couldn't see.  Then I guess I saw a glimpse of the right button and remembered that was the one and was able to record.  (How could I forget that's the button to push??!!!)  I was in a panic.  So I missed the beginning of the 1st song.  OMG I am the most incompetent person on the planet.  If there is a way I could possibly screw something up - I will do it.

Oops - I posted before I got to the last page -

    Happy Birthday Ducky!!!!

So sorry for your loss, Val.  And all the other things going on in your head.  (((((HUGS)))))

I don't think there are many people who can get their hair to look the way the hairdresser can.  This is why I don't change my hairstyle (yes, I know, the 80's called and it wants its hairstyle back...)  My hair is fine and doesn't do anything and I KNOW I would never be able to get it to do whatever the hairdresser might be able to get it to do (which even they probably wouldn't be able to do anything with this mess) so I'm leaving it as it is...

And, I hate always having to repeat my circumstances to a different person every damn time!! Over & over! Yell

Spent yesterday on phone with Regence - I am the legal administrator of my business policy and they needed my husbands permission to change the mailing address.  It took 90 minutes to get the job done.

omg - don't get me started on things you are jointly, legally responsible for, but because it's in your spouse's name, you can't access info on it or change it...  OR correct a mistake the company made on a bill where if they just looked at it, they would see it was wrong and should just fix their mistake without the need for any communication with your spouse...omg....

I especially love it when I do our taxes and my spouse's name is listed first and I have to access things under his ssn even though my name and ssn are on the account...

Oops - I guess I got started anyway... grrrr

Chris...The same thing happened to me with my coffee machine...I've been using it for years...suddenly I couldn't figure out which button it was........

Diane...Once I was gonna add my apt 3 on my Bank Statement...and you call my bank someone from India answers it...very polite...but after 20 minutes of this proof that proof for who I was...I politely told the person in INDIA....that I would go to my local branch and do it.........

Security is important but too much of it gets on my nerve....

    Val...sorry about your loss......♥

Best story of incompetence this week - an old local bank merged with a large national bank.  My friend had an account opened for her by her grandfather 55 years ago which had perhaps $3000 remaining in it.  She wanted to order new checks but they said she couldn't because there was no signature card with her name on it.  She is 55 years old and therefore did not have a signature card.  She wanted to close it but they said she couldn't without a check that has a signature that matched her signature card.  She went home, wrote a check to her husband using the old check with old address and they then deposited it in their mutual account without a problem.  The branch manager called her sometime later to ask why she had closed such a longstanding account - he got an earful.

Diane, my yard isn't anywhere near done....we are just doing a few things here and there...we haven't cleared the sideyards or upgraded the front yard for over 20 years.  We did have seed put down yesterday....but we didn't get irrigation so it is taking forever to water everything.  And yes, everything i so expensive....hope you are feeling better.

Chris, I have missed the camera moment more than once....and I totally understand how you can't see the buttons in the dark.  And then there were the multiple times when I didn't put the SD card in the camera...I hope you can find somebody who recorded the first song.  Maybe it's on You Tube...

(((Val))) sorry to hear you are dealing with loss...it's been a tough month for you....glad you are here.

Sandy, glad you are keeping busy and especially glad you will get a break next week.

Linda, hope you'll be good as new soon...

Sheila, how can you pretend like you don't need a dress...???  LOL!  It will all work out.
Late night at work...am enjoying the down time and watching DVR of American Idol.

    Nite all,

    Joan

    ((((((Ducky))))))

    lol, PT.

    ((((((Sandy))))))

Joan- the stupid thing was - I was sitting there all happy with myself for a while before the concert started - I could have made sure I remembered how to work the damn camera.  Of course, I couldn't test record - because I'm afraid to try to delete individual recordings because I'm afraid of deleting everything. This camcorder has a hard drive.  Things don't always have a step where you can confirm that you are deleting what you want to delete before it's gone.  Guess I'm getting old.  Or is technology getting more and more user unfriendly?

So I had a message from another pharmacy and from a recruiter from the firm I met with in 2010 when I first tried to get back into the workforce post-cancer - when my hair had grown in enough that I looked normal (for someone else - not for me since I've had long hair since 3rd grade - except in 8th grade when my mother tried to give me "a trim"  needless to say - that was the LAST time she touched my hair)  Recruiter in 2010 confirmed my suspicion/fear that my education and job history were too old for me to get a job.  Anyway - so NOW they call...   when my confidence is at a point so low even I didn't think it could go so low...  I should call him back - just to see what he has - probably isn't appropriate - probably had a phone call quota to meet or something.  But just in case it is something that would pay better/provide more hours....  I might still be able to do what I'm doing now part time...

Ugh.  I just want to crawl under a rock and hide. :(

Chris, interesting timing on the phone call...I wonder what you'll do...would be nice if you had a better job offer.  Your short stories make me smile - i can just picture you getting that trim.

I have been so busy this past week.  It is hard to believe we've been home six days!

I missed a call for work on Monday, but managed to log in online and accept the job. Only one day, but it was work.  Tuesday I worked at getting unpacked and straightening the house.  Wednesday-HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY, DUCKY! - was FDIL's birthday so I babysat 8 mo old FGS all day.  Picked up the 6 and 8 yr olds in the afternoon.

Yesterday was spent recouperating and re-straightening the house afer the kids were here.  I also machine quilted the quilt for Lala.  It will be complete when I do the hand work on the binding today.  Tonight we go to Mom's to celebrate FDIL'd birthday.

Off to San Jose at 5:30 tomorrow morning.  It will be an all day adventure.  Bringing home a koi that we bought from Japan.

DIL was upset that DS's name was first on their first tax return this year.  Her attitude towards marriage is weird.  They are invited to the dinner tonight.  DS says that they are supposed to have friends over for dinner, but if they cancel, DIL is going to go to a friend's house for the weekend, so only he would be at our dinner.  Oh, Well!

We built our house and moved in almost 7 years ago.  Our backyard is still not landscaped.  DH told me yesterday that he hopes to have it "done" by the end of the year.  Anyone willing to help me clobber him if he doesn't?  I am so tired of dirt! (Other than that which I plant my vegie garden in.)

I have a job interview on Tuesday.  It is for permanent placement on the job I was subbing for just before the baby was born.  Cross your fingers please.

Hope everyone has a great Friday!

Why does family have to be so complicated...hope you enjoy the dinner.
Good luck with the job...if it is what you want, I hope you get it.  Although, how will you ever find time to work???? You are amazing!

Thank you, Joan.  Last night DH looked at me and said "Have you noticed how busy you are now that you aren't working?"

I have been planting bushes and such in half barrels so I can plant them where I want once planting beds are constructed.  My back yard looks like a nursery!  We did plant some trees the first year we were here so we have some nice shade from the afternoon sun.  The trunks of the trees are getting thick, they may not be where we want them now, but they are staying and we will work the yard out around them.
