Got to have my coffee in the morning, alhough I have traded sugar for Stevia. And I drink a cup of hot tea at night instead of coffee.

I gave up my coffee maker. Then I gave myself permission to have coffee as a treat when I'm out. I make sure I get out every day now! ha!!!

My naturopathic oncologist gave permission for a cup or two of coffee a day but to drink organic and no other. Apparently the oily beans hold pesticides so organic is tha way to go.

Well, I've already fired tamoxifen over a year ago so I'll just have to have some more coffee! Tongue Out

"...every morning I suffer through a delicious cup of coffee to preserve my marriage." LOL

I just had my first cup (small) of coffee in a looooooong time. The smell has been enticing me for a few months. It turned my stomach for many years after pregnancy (~11 years). I don't feel too bad now. Yay! for at least one little vice!

I think the great thing about the alkalizing diet is that it gets people to eat a lot of veggies and fruit and helps people clean up their diet in general. I don't know that I buy into the science of it per se but when you look at what you are encouraged to eat, it's really good. I also have given up a lot. I got my dietary sugar intake down to 25 grams yesterday even though I had some whole grain in the morning and berries and a sweet potato! I was so proud.

So, I think if coffee doesn't trigger you into eating nasty things with it (donuts or something) go ahead and have a cup.
