I have about 7 treatments left but last week when I still about 12 left I was having my morning coffee feeling very relaxed when I started to feel a little short of breath.  Then I became light headed so I bent over put my head between my leggs and I started to feel better.  I sat up and became even more dizzy and was starting to pant and I could feel my heart racing.  I didn't think I was having a heart attack becase I had no pain but I felt like I could breath deep enough or catch my breath.

I started to panic and things escalated I was on the floor I couldn't catch my breath and could not stand I thought for sure I would pass out.

    My husband called paramedics.

They listened to my lungs and heart and said everything seemed fine.  I took a xanax and they stayed with me untill I became calm and my breathing reterned to normal.

I have been on hormone therapy for about 2 months Arimidex at first I thought maybe I was feeling a side effect from that, but since I have disgussed this with a friend who just finished rad with similar diagnosis and she had the same problem.  She said it happend to ther three times she had not started her hormone therapy yet.

So anyone else who is not getting chemo or hormone therapy yet that this has happend to? I would love to hear some comments.

I do hope you make an appointment to see your oncologist or PCP. That said, it sure sounds like a panic attack to me. Some people who have panic attacks even feel like they are having a heart attack.  You can probably see why these symptoms really do need to be seen by a Doctor or at the ER even when they turn out to be "just" panic attacks.  There is medicine to help you through this as well as counselors who can help you manage the attacks which certainly can be frightening.

I hope it's not too late to reply, but I had a very similar experience at rad 8. I was seeing spots and feeling like I was going to pass out. No one could figure it out, and I was sort of treated like I was a bit looney. I figured it out myself. I simply was not drinkiing enough water. I was dehydrated; I'm certain of it. I have not had a similar reaction since I have been working hard to drink more water. I think my normal not drinking enough water really backfired on me once rads started. I'm not sure if this might be what happened to you, but it at least it made me feel less looney. :)
