Block Center for Integrative Cancer Treatment
Has anyone gone to the Block Center? I am not sure if they are a reliable clinic or just selling supplements.

Sharon, I haven't been there, but I read a lot, including Dr. Block's book, Life Over Cancer. From everything I've ever read, they are the top integrative cancer center in the US, and by at least one account ranked #2 in the world (after a place in Germany).
There have been a few accounts on BCO from women who have gone there, and they've always been very positive. Hopefully, one or more of them will see your thread for some firsthand input, but The Block Center is world renown, a true integrative facility (conventional+alternative) and totally legit. Deanna

Thanks so much, Deanna. Someone said they wanted her to take tons of supplements (up to 1,500 dollars a month). I don't want to do that, but I would like to see what they have to say.
Thanks again,
Sharon

I have gone there. Will continue to. He does recommend a lot of supp, ements first year or so. They do have there own supplement supplier. Yes his prices can be expensive. I get a few from him, not all. Has never pushed them on me. And some of prices are same as the store.
I needed someone to guide me in my supplements. Dr block does that. He encourages a vegan diet. Exercise.
Read the book. I believe they truelly care. He spent a long time in consult with me. He does tumor markers for me and i didnt even have to ask for metformin. He allready believed init.
My normal mo does nothing on supplements. He is no help.
Pm me any questions. -

Sharon, Dr. Block's approach to nutrition is also mentioned in the article Boosting the Immune System to Fight Cancer on the main Breastcancer.org site. He's described there as a "leader in the field."

I first heard about them from a physician friend in CA who was referred there from Stanford because Stanford thought that they do the best job of integrating complimentary therapies that are evidence based with the latest in conventional therapy. There is a big difference between evidence based therapy and many of the other practioners. Dr. Block's book Life Over Cancer is a wonderful resource and basically explains the program in detail. I think that the main reason for going to the clinic would be to have the testing that shows just which areas should be supplimented. I am thinking of going when I finish radiation for a comprehensive after care plan.
