Hi, been following the shocking events of the day...how tragic that these young men were led astray to become cold-hearted killers...
I was so worried they wouldn't find him tonight and that the residents would have to live in fear...I would be terrified. I would want to get in my car and drive anywhere to get away.
We have those shelter-in-place drills at my college and I always feel like we are making ourselves sitting targets. I am a coward...I'd probably run to my car and drive home.Linda, Deb, Diane, glad for you and those you care about that this stressful operation is over. I think most of us know someone affected. I have a very close friend in Newton, next town over.
Sandy, you make me laugh - waterbug and chocolate in the same sentence...thought you were gonna melt the chocolate and dip the bug...

Glad you got a little catch up sleep.Chris, how are you feeling? Is it mainly allergies giving you symptoms? I usually get the "cold that doesn't go away" this time of year.
Sheila, this is for you...and anyone else who wants a taste.

-
Yum, forget the spoon, can I have a ladle please?
-
So glad it's over. I've been so worried about friends and family.
The suspect #2 is in the white baseball hat. My next door neighbor is the girl in front of him with the sunglasses on. I've knnown her since birth she is like my daughter. Thank God she's alive!
-
Linda...i'm happy for you....
Who took this picture? Was it random?
Who is the crying girl?
-
The crying girl is my neighbors friend. My neighbor is the captain of the Tufts U lacrosse team. The crying girl is a lacross player. If you look to the far right, you see another girl running with a Tufts Sweatshirt on, another member of the team.
The pic is all over the news. A runner from Florida took the pic. It's gone viral. I'm so happy my friend is OK, but saddened by those who are not so lucky.
-
Thanks for explaining...i don't see any other girl on the far right......
It was a very sad day for all of us......
i'm grateful....they caught him alive.....
I'm happy you're OK.....♥
I'm happy Deb is OK....♥
-
Oh Linda, that is so shocking...to see him anywhere near someone you love...so glad she's OK. My DD#1 went to Tufts and I have spent many days on the streets of Boston.
The most disturbing photo I saw today is the 8 year old boy, sister and mom; alleged backpack next to them undetonated; and the murderer walking away.
-
I saw that too Joan. It is so sad.
Glad your daughter is not at Tufts anymore, away from this mess!
-
friends and in-laws are scattered around the area though...so glad it's under control. I don't know where you are in the area; but if it were me, I would have been really fearful. I think that closing the schools was a good idea.
-
It's school vaca week so that helpful. Colleges were closed. Thank God the schools were closed with all the snow days we've had, Boston schools get out June 29. Imagine if they had to add to that!

Hello ladies....hope everyone is ok....it is 422pm...♥.....so annoyed bought sunglasses off of ebay....got the package forgot I got it....george reminded me AFTER I told the seller I never received it (10 days ago) I now remember opened the box unpackaged them, then rewrapped them, forgot I did that and threw the box out....they were awesome betsy johnson ones....with green where the lenses are and the things that go over the ears were blue.....so pissed......did I say that yet.....
anyway........happy saturday...bbl
-
Awww, that sucks - sorry Sandy.
((((((TOL))))))
-
Sandy......I had a pair of very expensive sun glasses which I bought and swore I would wear....(have pale blue eyes, never wore sun glasses, hate them), and as a result have had glaucoma, and cataract surgery.........anyway..........one Saturday I wore them at my grandson's football game...(he played at that time for Carnagie Mellon University in Pittsburgh).......,..left them on the bench..........went right back when I realized it, only to see the cleanup crew with huge trash bags picking up all the left over trash, my glasses included..............said they did not see them, although they were 1 bench away from where I was sitting at the very top of the stands...........lesson learned.........don't buy expensive sunglasses, and if you do, since you already had glaucoma, and cataract surgery, what the hell difference does it make anyway....lol
-
wouldn't trade my vuarnet sunglasses for anything. LOVE them!
Hope you are all having a nice weekend!
-
Linda - just think you are less than 48 hours from the boys going back to school.
Wa has the highest sales in the country for sunglasses. Obviously not because of weather but because we lose them in between the times we actually need them.
At the cabin this weekend - just left a dinner party at a friends house because the music was too loud. OMG, I can hardly stand to admit that. Had a great time, everyone dancing and singing and laughing but after 3 hours, I couldn't take the volume.
-
Diane, at least you got to party....
Sandy, sorry to hear about your glasses. I lose everything. Sunglasses, new cameras, jewelry...And I think I lose stuff that I don't lose. It's not age...it's having too much stuff and being disorganized...no routine...
I am so hard on my sunglasses. I get mine at Saks outlet...amazing glasses for good prices...I must have 6 or 8 pair now...
OK - enough TOL...getting up in 5 hours to go to NY city with my students to Museum of Natural History. They do not deserve it...and I'd rather stay home...but 3 are going and I can't get out of it.
My shrubs are planted in my barren yard...next is grass seed and mulch. I have to say, I love the result. I can still see the neighbors' house but as summer growth fills in, it will get better.
Have a wonderful Sunday!Joan

Forgot to mention -- had appointment with BS on Friday and she says all is "normal" and she won't see me any more - I will see her NP unless mammo or exam finds something.
Guess that's a really good appointment...
always grateful here. -
Fabulous, fabulous news, Joan !!
Just saw you "here" & wanted to say HI
((( TOL )))
off to bed........

-
Thinking about you all.......going for a Mani and a Pedi at 3:30 with my daughter......weather isn't quite open toes yet....but we are getting there....hoping to snag dinner at my daughter's house........made a pound cake for my grandson.........he loves it, and that will be his snack all week.......gonna get a huge hug for this one......lol

Four pages to read to catch up. Forgive me if I don't acknowledge what's been said first. I thought I'd check in and then read.
It was hard to leave the little family. DIL was in tears because not only did we leave, but her DH had to go to work on Friday. Guess she summoned him home early. We thought we had her all lined out on what to do with two, but she must have blanked.
I feel like I have been off of this earth for nearly two weeks. At least I had cleaned the house nicely before we left so we came home to a tidy house. Now to unpack. I hate to have to do that. Don't know if I'llbe working tomorrow or not, but things need to be done here and I am worn out.
