Cascader woo hoo, girl wear that bikini!!!! I bet you look awesome too. Wish you were here (for good reasons) so we HBOT ites could have lunch! Would be fun.

My DIL is such a sport - easy to have as a caregiver. She was caught unguard with a luncheon - but rolled with it by wearing her airline clothes - very casual. NO one at the table made her feel uncomfortable, that was a big show to me of how open and generous people on this site and organizations like Komen are.

She is the mother of 2 of my 8 granddaughters, hoping this disease never touches them, but how poignant it was for her to see the love in the room.

Checked out my body today or at least part of it. I truly look like Frankenstien! Having my DIL, Susan, take photos (what a nice relationship with her as I can ask her anything and she is so agreeable) along the way. I think at some point I will dump all the photos into something like Picaboo or something and make a hard bound book out of it so I can see where I was and came from with this journey. Also to take the photos off my iphone!!! what a a hoot showing people photos and then having them see the work in progress- NOT my intention!!! LOL

Take care and love to all (and that i before taking my meds!)

Pink, we are so blessed to find Dr Kline and Dr Craigie - so very happy with them!!!!

Hi Catie!  Yes, I am at home.  I was discharged on Saturday, but I was not up to the Komen luncheon.  Basically, Dr. M rotated & lifted my left into place.  She did fat grafting on both sides.  She also fixed the bat wings sticking out from under my arms (left over from the original mx).  She lowered the ab incision and fixed all the bumps and lumps.  While she was there, she did an abdominal plication.  I should be nice and flat!  She also removed the dog ears.  I have 4 drains.  The breast drains are minimal, the hip drains are at about 100 per day per side.  She removed about 2 litres of fat from the flanks.  She changed the antibiotic this time from minocyclin to cipro.  It doesn't seem to be causing a problem.  I have been advised to put the mino on the drug allergy list and the phenergan.  I had a strange reaction to it.  Good thing my DH had seen my mother have a funky reaction to it and knew what was going on.  I can now get out of bed without my DH help.  Small walks in the house today.  Tomorrow I have to get out on the street!

Hi Catie,  Glad things are going so well with you and your DIL.  It great to have such a close relationship.

Marty,  It sounds like you are coming right along. You'll be glad you had the plication when you are all healed and past the extra soreness.

I did an outside walk today but still tired.  Tried not taking pain meds but found it was too early for that.  Tomorrow I'll go back to a regular light dose. I'm always in such a hurry.  I have a lunch date tomorrow and am looking forward to that.

    Sleep well and speedy healing.

    Catie,

Sorry i didnt get back to you sooner. We were busy walking Folly Beach, and then unfortunately fishing my friend's cell phone out of the ocean. Bartender at Blu made a bed of rice for her phone and then we took it to the nearest Verizon ER, and still managed to make it to Charleston Crabhouse for sunset dinner.

It's probably too late to call now?

I enjoyed meeting your DIL. I can feel how kind hearted she is. I look forward to meeting you both again tomorrow at West Ashley office. Erica will be there and she can suggest a place to go nearby.

Or I can come by Wednesday as I plan to go to IOP. Take care!

Going to sleep now, and have had quite a day but plenty of resting - anxious to hear exactly what Dr. K did, but know it's all good.

Marty you sure had a lot of stuff done!

    g'nite all sleep well,

Thanks all for the good thoughts and prayers!

Thanks Betsy . You actually inspired me to do it . I survived and going to do it again today! I am a size 6/8 but have always struggled a bit with body image, and bc certainly didnt help matters. Reconstruction has given me back more than just a boob and I am so thankful. And yes, 55 is the new 30!

Moving to the Homewood Suites today. The Crowne Plaza has been okay, but nothing to write home about. Can't complain about it nor can rave about it. No continental breakfast, but there is a fridge and microwave in each room. Will see if the Homewood Suites are a 'go back to' type place.

I'm hoping to come back in July to get the stage 2b (fat grafting for SGAP area and breasts where needed to get them symmetrical). I had heard stage 2 was the toughy as far as pain goes, nothing that the pain pills can't address, in my experience.

I have incision from hip to hip in back and part in front, so that part is difficult getting in and out of bed, but did it last night and today. Spent most of yesterday sitting and oh so tired an sore when I got back to the room. Couldn't keep my eyes open - had enough time to take my normal meds then asleep all night!

Today going to try to find the place in Charleston (can't remember the name) that specializes in bras and fittings for correct bra sizes for my DIL who has been so sweet to do whatever I asked of her this whole trip. And, move to Homewood Suites. I want to stay in town until Saturday to be closer to our Drs. just in case. Hoping there is nothing that will come up, but staying anyway.

My body itches when it heals. Always has. And I'm in the itchy stage, so know some healing is going on.

Marty hope you are doing even better today!!!

    Hugs to all

Catie - doing better this morning!  Dr. M usually suggests going to Dillard's at Citadel Mall for fittings.  Although Bits of Lace on King Street is an excellent shop, the owner is the one who really knows the fittings and is not always there.  The last thing you need is a college student.  Dillards is more consistant and has a much wider selection of bras available.  Another option is shopping HerRoom on line.  They have very specific fitting instructions and one of the largest selections on the web.  They have also worked out a universal sizing standard that can be applied to all D and D+ sizes across the board.  Good luck.

    Marty,

Good to hear you're feeling better today. Getting over the nausea turned on the light at end of tunnel for me! Now to kick Pain's behind and building back strength. I missed what happened to chair? :)

    Catie,

I really enjoyed our lunch yesterday, although I worried it was too much for you. I was pretty wiped out, too, and found out that Dr K was right that getting drain out wasn't going to relieve my pain in that area. Now I know how much work Dr K did on you (a lot!) so hoping for healing and energy to you soon. Hope to see you again before I leave on Saturday. I will see Dr K again on Friday for another hematoma aspiration. Don't have appointment time yet.

Hugs to you and your very special DIL!

Pink, loved our time yesterday but was wiped out so much that as soon as I hit the bed last night I fell asleep. Would wake up to ask my DIL about something I had dreamed about - no worries she is convinced I'm looney toons anyway😕

Absolutely could NOT drive home today even if I wanted to - so very good we are staying at Homewood until Sat.

DIL is packing up car now - she is a dear.

I didn't even call DH last night - was asleep!

Marty think it was bits of lace - will call to see when owner is in, thanks much

Thanks Cascader.  Made the turn.....no pain meds today and feeling pretty good.  That lipo makes you pretty sore.  Someone loaned me the Downton Abbey series and I have finally finished it.  Really enjoyed it and will look forward to when it starts back. Drive safely home.

Marty, glad to hear you are doing better with the nausea.  Rest, rest, rest!

Catie,  Hope you enjoy the move and feel like traveling by Saturday.

Catie, it sounds like everyone likes Homewood.

Im walking beach at Isle of Palms right now.

I haven't scheduled Stage 4? Dr K said I could after 3 months to do fat grafting only to left breast. I have a lot of fried chicken to eat in meantime. :)

Stage 5? I have to wait six months to finalize right breast because I still have radiation edema issues ...

I told Gail I forgot my souvenir champagne glass from the Komen luncheon and Lisa from Komen committee brought one for me to Dr K office! I really am not a lush! :)

Back at Homewood and wiped out just by walking Target and looking for a nice lingerie place to treat my DIL for her kindness. No luck, she is over a DD so have to wait to go back to Atlanta to find a good fitter for her I guess.

I had a scare last night that I thought I had bed bug bites right under my incision line of the flap he took extra skin away from the PAP flap. Three bite looking things that didn't itch but were so different than whatever else is going on in my body - crazy!!! So, I face timed my daughter (SIL is a RN) and she face timed her BFF who is also a RN - and her BFF's mother also JUST had a bed bug problem from a 4 star hotel! (I supposedly just left a 4 star hotel) - so we paniced thinking it was bed bugs!!! We were given a photo of her BBF's mom's wrist where she had bed bug bites, my DD emailed photos of other bed bug bites from the internet, etc, and finally was able to not feel they were bed bugs (also emailed ECPS with the photos of my bumps) - Dr. K responded it could be where they stapled for a short period as a sort of tailor tac to show where to start the incision!!!! WHEW!!!!!!!!!!! But crazy couple of hours! My DIL and DD said they itched all night just thinking about it! Luckily the pain meds kept me so asleep I forgot to take my blood pressure and allergy pill before going to sleep! LOL

Have rented two movies and have feet up - feet are swollen as they were stage 1 from IV and from fluid from lipo I think. They will go down as swelling goes down.

I am sold on Homewood Suites. Now tired and may sleep through part of the movies but wanted to add something as it looks pretty quite on BCO or my internet connection is not showing anything.

Beautiful day, if I wasn't feeling so tired and out of it we would have gone for a walk on the beach. Will save that for another time. No appetite at all - just had a banana for the potasium.

    hugs to all

Hope your energy and appetite picks up soon.

I'm at Folly Beach today and all beautiful blue sky. Maybe we can all take very short walk on IOP beach after early lunch tomorrow, but only if you are up to it.

I rented a beach lounger for $5 that guy placed where I pointed. Nice to have a place to rest.

Get well wishes to all! Lucky you Marty to be able to enjoy beach and Charleston year round. :)

Better go, dont want to drop iphone in ocean.

Catie,  so very glad that it did not turn out to be bed bugs. EWWWWW yuck.  Sounds like you are very comfortable at the Homewood Suites. Rest well.

Healing right along.  Started back to normal days but still very tired at night.  I just don't want to get up in the morning either.  Like everyone says....time an patience.

Doing well, Catie. thanks for asking. I am hoping to get 2 drains out on Monday. I really know that will help. I have just been taking walks on my street daily and resting. Between the extensive lipo, breast rotation & lift and plication, I am not bouncing back too quickly. Trying to do simple self care makes me feel like a contortionist, a really old contortionist. My lower back has just reminded me that it feels unloved so am adding flexerll to the dilaudid tonight. Ah, the price of beautiful new boobs!

So glad to be off the oxy and now drain free!! Still some pain but doable.

One more hematoma aspiration tomorrow or maybe not. It looks alot better but still feel a knot. I want Dr K to see me anyway before I drive home Saturday.

Looking forward to Stage 4 in ~3 months with just lipo. It's the Stage 5 in 6 months working on my PITA radiated breast that I not looking forward to because I bet I end up with a drain again.

My radiated breast and the pain as well as damage internally to my chest wall and skin, has improved dramatically by Dr K with his patience and top skills and order for HBOT. He said we are about 70% there and I cant wait to celebrate the end of reconstruction!

    Pink -

Looking forward to seeing Cathie in July - you joining our fat grafting week? Cathy is set for Thirs the 11 July and I'm the next day.

Hoping to be at Homewood by IOP Connector.

You all sound like you're making great progress.

Deidre I already have my reservation from the 10th through the 18th (now to get a caregiver lined up - but won't be DH). I figured I can always cancel a day or so at the end if I need to, but would give me enough time just on case to enjoy the IOP beach. I just love this area.

As you know I stayed at the beach last time - but I am SOLD on this Homewood Suites for future use. Very nicely appointed, staff so very accommodating, food decent and selection including veggies and salad, and main entree very tasty. DH is a wine guy, so selection of wine, beer, lemonade , teas and coffee as well. Kitchenette in each suite with all that is needed for any food needs like mid day meal. Business center, work out center, pool, and in a very convenient to ECPS and ECMC ! We are happy with it big time. Laundry facilities you just bring the soap/conditioner (and DIL to do the laundry 😴) LOL

My seromas are gone! Still major puffy from IV but getting there. Compression because major revision of SGAP scar and seromas but totally doable and with an extra set given by hospital to go home with. See Dr K then spend special time with Pink and them home tomorrow! Stage 2b in July when Deidre also does stage 2. So nice to connect in person with such great ladies.

    Big healthy healing hugs

    Cathie

Charleston is such a beautiful easy to get around city- matter what season! And we are so blessed with such FANTASTIC Drs who care so much about our outcome and our pocket books!! Truly blessed!
