So at Hotel, only 1 person to man switchboard with a sold out hotel and no TV working = hovering hubby!!!!

Next time I bring a friend!!!!!!!! LOL

Great news though, only fat grafting to upper part of flaps and he will make left to match right so no messing around with the previously radiated side except upper fat grafting! I have to admit, other than taking out a wrinkle in the new flap, lower part, they look fantastic in a bra. Good size c's - so happy!

Will get bunny tail and dog ears gone - so back will be the major! Will see after surgery what else. But good follow up with Dr Baron as well.

Gail spent a lot of time chatting and giving me time to ask even more questions. I know they have other patients, but I gotta tell you - they make me feel like their only patient.

Now to get DH all settled in to quit hovering. IF I am up to it, there is a Survivors Celebration on Sunday I am going to try to make even if for an hour or two. My hotel (if they finally get better staffed) has a shuttle to the event. We shall see, I'm pretty brave right now but may just want to curl up with some pain pills on Sunday afternoon. But I'm hoping to be good enough for this event.

Marty hope all goes well! Downey hope you are healing very nicely too. Ad, dear Pink... Hope you feel better!

    Hugs

Catie,  doing fine but very sore.  I have decided that lipo is not for wimps!  I sat through a four hour cooking class today.  I am glad she writes everything down since I'm not sure how much my brain retained.  You rest up and heal fast. Hugs Your Way

    Catie,

Hope you are doing great and meds helping you feel good, too!

I was definitely thinking of you today. You were in OR and at a certain point Dr Kline saw me and aspirated a new, small hematoma at top of my right breast. My eyes were popping when I saw that needle. Kim put on lidocaine first, but still felt one of the sticks.

I guess my other hematoma resolved. I still having swelling there I had a sudden gush of output in my drain earlier this week going from 40cc daily to 85. It's now at 30 so i hope it means Im really on my way to losing this drain. I see Dr K again on Tuesday, but he wont pull it until 10cc. So when I start my long drive home next Thursday, I hope this damn drain is not tagging along with me! We've been friends long enough.

Catie,  Glad you are doing well.  Just be careful going out into any crowds.  you don't want injury to anything. Maybe it will be a quiet and solemn event.  Take it easy.

    Catie,

I also went ahead and got a seat at Dr K &Dr C table for the Komen Lowcountry celebration. I'm going to take it easy tomorrow so I feel better to drive to that event downtown at Marriott on Sunday.

I did bring a black summer dress but might raid my friend's sundress closet. Not kidding, she has a separate closet of just sundresses ...

I need something to hide drain and that I'm braless and one breast bigger than other from having surgery swelling. That settles it--my black dress does the trick.

Really hope you can make it but please dont push yourself! I told Gail I was a little iffy if I would make it and I'm 15 days post op.

If you dont go i will meet up with you on monday or tuesday. Keep on napping!

Good Morning! Finally feeling human. Had a bad reaction after surgery with phenergan. Sort of semi comatose. Lots of nausea and vomiting. I have 4 drains. Still have cath. Ate all breakfast. Loving dilaudid. Haven't been out of bed yet, but simply repositioning hurts, lots. Ah, hoping to go hope today. Thanks for being with me!

Marty,  so glad you are though it.  So sorry you had a bad reaction.  That stinks!  Post when you feel up to it.

Catie,  The lipo really does hurt....I'm day four and doing much better.  I didn't wake up in the middle of the night for pain meds but sure did need them this morning.

Sweet dreams to both of you.

Out of hospital as of yesterday ( had to stay an extra day because of extensive work on the SGAP donor site). Went to the Susan G Komen luncheon that our wonderful Drs. helped sponsor.

i went from the hospital to the hotel to change into something more appropriate (but all I had with me was a long black Chico's type dress and a white sweater) then my DIL and I found the hotel the luncheon was held at and joined them. While I was at the booth that Gail and Chris were manning I mentioned that I would have loved to meet Pinkhart there! Gail nodded at me and told me to turn around, and lo and behold there was Pink very beautiful and in person!!!! What a treat!

The luncheon was for survivors and very nicely put togther. Dr. Craigie, Chris, Gail, Gail's daughter, Pink , my DIL and I shared the table - how fun! The centerpieces were pink boxes with gourmet cupcakes (also deliciaous). Booths were fun to look at, but I was pretty much ready to sit when they opened the doors for the luncheon!

We not only are blessed with fantastic Drs and staff medically related, but also when out of the office element very down to earth and truly fun to be with. Was able to sit through the events and won a basket of some really nice goodies!!!

When we got back the hotel I stayed up and pretty much put stuff where I would need them for our stay here, they did all my nightly routine and laid in bed ready to watch the Apprenticce. I think got back the recap part and then woke up at 3:45. Had not taken any of my night time meds nor pain pills. Was truly feeling the pain, at it shot up to about an 8 or 9. Took what was needed, waited an hour to take my Synthroid and fell asleep until 9:30. I was exhausted!!!!! But good exhausted.

Part of my usual routine is/was dealing with the drains! But this time I do not have any drains! WOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOO - the seromas were taken care of, my back side revised enough to show my local Dr. Deformatiy that I wll not be deformed !!! Thank you Dr. K!!!! Will address more fill in fat grafting on the breasts next time.

And, thanks to Pink, Gail, Chris and Dr. Craigie for a wonderful lunch/first day out of the hospital!

    Hugs to all

Pink, so nice meeting you - so good to connect and hope to again.

Sounds like a wonderful outing and glad you two lovely ladies got to meet. Keep up on those pain meds, how long are you staying in CHS?

I am on vacay in Phoenix and today I am going to be brave and wear a bikini, well a 2 piece. Not sure that a 55 yr old woman has any business doing this but I think I look ok thanks to the tummy lipo in December. Better bring a coverup!!

My breasts look pretty good but it still does not feel good to have anything that irritates the IMF area. Think I will be bra free forever. On my phone and rambling now.... Have a great day everyone!

I love bc.org! So many virtual BC survivor friends have been a blessing to me. To go from PMing to talking on phone to meeting in person has been so fun and definitely helping me along this BC journey.

Also finally finding Dr Kline and his staff to take on my train wreck of implant failure, radiation damage, LE, cording and giving me breasts again even from my skinny body has finally given me hope that I will be able to move on with life.

That is, after I eat more fried chicken and have a few more fat grafting surgeries!

So glad I could attend the event with Dr Craigie, Gail, Chris, Beth and hang with them somewhere more fun than a hospital or exam room!

Best of all was getting to meet Catie! She is amazing discharging from hospital and going right to komen luncheon-looking beautiful and armed with a pillow. The news anchor emcee talked to us prior and during event announced what she had done (with her permission). :)

Catie what time is your appt tomorrow? I'm at 11:15. Would love to chat with you again!

    Hi, Pink,

I agree with your sentiments about BCO - my DIL is with me as caregiver and was very impressed with our 'tight' group from here. I had been talking Pink up a storm in the car and hoping you would be there, Cherrie. The luncheon was beautiful because of the people - so fun. But boy oh boy was I tired!!!!

I made my appointment for 10:00. I figure I'll be out of there and we can wait in the waiting room until you get there and then wait until you get out. Maybe a cup of tea/coffee after before you go to the plantation?

How are you feeling? Hoping much better!!

Today we went to Walmart and I did the Walmart walk (around the entire store pushing a cart - still a bit unsteady on my feet and walk slowly b/c of the stitches on the back. Hard to get in and out of the bed without help from my DIL but see improvement every day.

Looking forward to seeing you again tomorrow.

    Hugs

    Marty,

Hope you are doing well. Are you at home? I will look to see what they did to you, but if you haven't said that yet, what did they do.

Sending healing thoughts you way, and Downey too!
