Bone marrow?

Options

Can anyone help? Here are the basics. Right mastectomy for ilc stage 2b. 0/3 nodes. Several small lesions which the docs added together to be 7cm (although it wasn't one big 7cm lesion) ER+ pr+ her2- no chemo as oncotype was low at 14. Rads x30. On femara for a little over a month. Low hgb for a few months. Colonoscopy was clean. Now low WBC. What can this mean? I'm so scared. Can anyone help??

HI Angel faith, I'm sorry no one came by with advice. I don't have anything to add but wanted to send my wishes for strength as you go through this. Perhaps someone with this exeprience will chime in.

Your white blood cell count can drop from your radiation therapy.  What is your actual WBC number?

I have no idea, but i thought it was a bad thing to have a HIGH white blood cell count. i thought having high can mean infection and if count is really HIGH cancer. When count is high it means you are fighing something and your body is producing immune reaction, which is why if it is high it is a sign that something is going on. im not sure what having LOW would mean though. You can try going to the Johns hopkins ask an expert site for breast cancer. They have a nurse there who responds to questions within a day!

Im also sure that everything you have been through could be making your body blood reports a little off. i wouldn't panic.

I don't know much about this, but just developed a concern myself.  I am a 6 year survivor of stage 1 IDC--no nodes, ER/PR+ --had radiation, no chemo and finished 5 yrs of Arimidex a year ago.  On my latest blood test, I have a drop in Mean platelet volume and slight drop in ABC lymphocytes.  Of course I googled and worry this could be bone marrow concern.  I have absolutely no other symptoms.  Can anyone give me insight?

    Hello AngelFaith

Don't know if this will help you because I had IDC - not ILC - and had surgery and chemo as well as rads and am not on Femara but...

I've had low haemoglobin - 7.2 - whereas the normal range is 11.5-16.0 in the UK. Like you, I've also had low white blood cell counts (neutrophils 1.52, normal range 1.80) and low lymphocytes (0.68 and 0.92, normal range 1.30-4.0).

One oncologist booked a blood transfusion for me re the HB - now it's up to 10.5. The next one I saw told me not to worry too much about the lymphocytes. A two or three-step derivation from the normal range is nothing to worry about in his book.

He told me he is more interested in the neutrophils. Five months after end of radiation, mine have gone back up to 2.80.

Hope this helps in some way.

    Alice

Thank you. I'm not sure the exact number. I'm hoping its from radiation!!! Fingers toes and everything else crossed. Putting it all on god now.
