Slightly silly question-bald dad?

Just saw some research about prostaglandin and male-pattern baldness.

I was wondering, how many of your fathers are/were bald? My dad and his identical twin, as well as my mother's father all have/had male-pattern baldness.

Yup. My dad starting going bald quite young. Not sure if early graying counts, but I, and all of my siblings, starting getting gray in our 20's.

Sorry, my Dad was not bald, but he passed away young, at 54, of lung cancer.

The research had nothing to do with cancer really, just that they have discovered that prostaglandin is involved in male-pattern baldness. I remember vaguely that it is involved in breast cancer as well (probably involved in all sorts of things) and I also remember a previous link to inheritance from the father and lobular breast cancer. So I was just wondering if perhaps more of us than normal have bald dads.

Prostaglandins are associated with inflammation. Recent info published by the British Medical Journal regarding heart disease & male pattern baldness has come out. They also looked at incidence of prostate cancer among 37,000 men enrolled in a half dozen studies and found a link. Not sure how that data could be extrapolated to female offspring with BC.

Dad passed away this December at the ripe old age of 97 and with a full head of grey hair.

My dad was bald at 21....also he had non hodgkins lymphoma, terminal back in 2000, he went into complete remission and will be 80 next month
