(OT) ANXIOUS, 1st Date after MX
I am 58 and have been separated for 2 years, before my DX. With my dx and then my soon to be ex having a heart attack, the divorce has been put on a back burner. So now I am done with treatment, feeling pretty well and the divorce is moving to the front burner again. And now the terrifying part, I have a first date Monday evening. I haven't had a first date in 30+ years and they always made me nervous and now I am doing so with a cancer dx behind me and a missing boob! I know I don't have to share anything, but just putting myself out there for the first time is soooooo frightening. Anyone else with a similar experience?
Support, advice etc. All is welcome
Thanks
Nel

Well, I haven't had an experience similar to yours (other than the breast cancer part), but I think you should just try to relax and enjoy yourself. You deserve it. Don't feel beholden to explain anything until you feel comfortable about it. Smile and have a good time!

Selena,
Thank you. Trying to hold that thought. Really this much anxiety at age 58. Never thoguth this is where I would be.

Don't know what you're experiencing, but I can imagine! Just be yourself sweetie and everything will be fine! (((HUGS)))

So I did it. Put that foob into the dating water so to speak. Nice guy, nice dinner, not for me. I think it would have been the case anyway, even before my DX, but I need someone with more life in their life. Quiet, reserved. Glad to have done this the first itme, dx not an issue. I was so worried about the cancer DX, as I knew, but needed to experience, it shouldn't even come up in this situation. It has been 30+ years since I dated, so my skills are very rusty! (LOL)
Be well

and sweetie, even if the date is hot hot hot - DO NOT WORRY - just be your wonderful self and Thank God that your divorce is moving along, your BC treatment is behind you, and you are freeeeeeee! Live and love life, and if any guy has a problem with you exactly as you are: lose him and move on. Gosh I wish I knew all this when I was younger - kissed a lot of frogs I could have avoided!! You will do wonderfully 💖
