Oh, oh.  I just finished five days ago and I'm already wanting the SEs to go away.  Which SEs are troubling you the most?  I'm concerned about fatigue and pain in my sternum.  Tell me they go away!!!!!

I have two boosts to go and my skin is raw and my armpit has a pain deep down every so often. The radiation tech did say it would get worse before it get better...yikes!  How soon after your last treatment did the blisters/rawness go away, if you had them?

Thanks for any info you can provide....

Sorry to hear that Lily55, just when you think it is over and can move on...I am worried about the long term effects. What does the doc say about those symptoms?

Take paín killers ! They don't work so i don't take anything - i was not told it could get this bad...but remember some people sail thru rads fine

Pain killers should not be the cure or option.....did you start having neck pain during radiation or after? I read where a patient had neck issues and went to a massage therapist and it helps somewhat and also acupunture helps too. I hope your pain eases up and you get well soon!

Neck paín is from tissue changes below, did not have it before.....

I go to physio every week and he says it is the radiación but he says my chest tissue is still shrinking and twisting hence the paín.....i feel worn down by it now as never feel ok

That has not been my experience at all. Of course you may have gotten radiation in a different area than I did. So sorry you are going through this. All I can say is keep telling your doctor that you HURT and keep trying different things until you find relief.

I too am having the effects now and I finished rads in November. My breast is getting sharp pain twinges which could be the nerves coming back after surgery but what I want to know is will that lively orange peel look ever go away?!

I am almost 3 years out from my radiaiton therapy. I would say that all the pain and discomfort lasted about 2 1/2 years. I no longer have pain in the radiated breast.  My doctor had told me to use cocoa butter on the radiated area, because it has some natural healing powers, I am not sure it helped, but time does. He did say that it can take up to 2 years for the pain to go away.  What I cannot get used to is the way my breast feels. For me it is hard to doa breast exam on.

Good to know. I finished rads in August 2012 and still have pain and burning in my armpit and affected breast. Sometimes more, sometimes less and the breast is mostly hotter to the touch than the other.

    Does anyone else have this??
