Fairy cakes . . . hmmmm, looks so yummy! I think that's what we call cupcakes over here on this continent. In my home language it would be 'kolwyntjies', which my mom baked for every birthday. Edi, your GD is just adorable, and her beautiful hair is the exct same colour as yours too!

Dakota, if I were you, I'd jump at Edi's invitation. She will be a healing tonic with a laugh a minute!

Moviemaniac, so sorry to hear you are still feeling lousy. Healing vibes are coming your way!

Nihahi, I've seen it happen so often. Just when we think everything is going well. . . Bam! Hope your DD will settle in with you, and that you can find a solution for her. That landlady was just looking for an excuse - so not nice! Taking care of you will help to take DD's attention away from her own problems for a while, and help her get clarity about her issues. Best wishes!

Traii, how was the party? Let us know!

Quiet day for me. Just pottering about the house, doing laundry, trying to think what to cook for DH tonight. Got some good news. Youngest DS is getting married on 30 November in South Africa, so another trip there in my future. Last year there was huge disappointment when this wedding fell through thanks to Immigration Canada, but they have now given them the green light. Hopefully it will all work out this time. I am too apprehensive to get excited just yet. Will wait till closer to the time when I know it is really going to happen.

Think I must be the only person awake on the earth plane at this moment in time !!!! 3.39 am here, been wide awake since 3.00 am. Flippin steroids are giving it loads, need this energy later today NOT NOW.
Mug of tea going down a treat, at least not ready to eat my way throught the cupboards yet,
Lovely to get back a bit of appetite, watching fat content as enjoying being two sizes smaller, shame don't have lovely taut skin but asap will be hitting the fake tanning cream.
My one bit of joy is making sure I look as good as possible each day.
It really does lift your spirits.
Have arm excercise class 10.30 followed by rad, one more tomorrow then off for four days over Easter weekend.
Bingo pub is having an egg hunt indoors on Sunday, hope ED will let GD come out to play.Laughing
DH is up early today as he has to source wood for shower tray base. NOT a happy bunnyYell moaned all evening til I took myself off for HOT soak and thenannounced we were going to bed.
Hopefully all will go well ,just glad I will be out until lunchtime as house will have plumber plus yummy gas man hopefully fitting new gas fire and realigning fire surround.
Got GD from 1 pm so she can help us this afternoon with DIY warehouse, we can have tea and cake whilst Papa walks around in a state of bliss, gazing at nuts bolts and screws. Like Liefie's DH and plants.
Making one of my creations today too an 18th birthday cake, she wants red and black, so here goes lol.
Also diaper cake for my dear friend who has become Nana to twins, one of each so ideal family in one fell swoop.
Her son is one of the team that fishes out people who fall in our Mersey River, cold and very dangerous. Lots of people decide to end their lives this way so therefore put his and colleagues lives at risk.Frown
Off to make second mug of tea and catch up with TV recordings.
    Love and hugs to all.

Tea and cake was delicious Traii, thanks hope you less knackered and DS sugar free lol x

    Laters xx

Hi Cyber baba, Got half an hour 6-6.30 then DH up and about so now baking cake order Smile
Will try and get half an hour before hospital and GD.
Cleaned out fridge, tidied living room and did some washing so feel quite saintly lol.
Ds and easter egg !! they are sooo funny. Fairy made a dozen cakes. kept three for mum dad and her for tea time. Two for Papa then had to test the rest i.e demolished the lot.
She is usually a savoury girl, think because she made them she had to eat them.
Making some choccy easter ones for my lovely rad girls to take tomorrow.
Hope you have a peaceful evening and good sleep, has this improved for you ??
What is your weather like now, little flurry of snow this morning here. Please don't let it stick.
Tiler just arrived for shower,DH got his wood, took him half an hour, asked him why he freaked out last night " that's just me " says he, " pack it in says I " don't need the drama. Frown
ED had crisis meeting with the builder last night and her fella wiped the floor with them, all sorts not sorted and work started. Says in contract they have to apply for planning permission even tho they don't need it. If they build out and something upsets council they will have to rip it down. Builder only just told them and work well under way.
All the workies have just turned up. Standing around like spare parts as boss not arrived.
Worse part is ED works with his wife !! She is dreading going into work.
This is costing as much as her first house did so don't need any extra stress.
Will have to stop DH giving the " advice " tonight beacause as you know DH's are experts on everything lol
    Sleep well chick xx

Hey Ladies, (Sorry....this is a copy and paste from my other thread (diep2013)....wanted to keep in touch, but don't have the time/energy to double post at the moment. Love you all.....Edi....you keep me smiling, you will never know how much I love you!!!!!!!!)

I've been reading, but busy trying to keep daughter's life moving forward and haven't had the time to myself to post. I can read the messages on my cell phone, but need to be with my computer to realistically post, so I've been sneaking "reading" when she is otherwise occupied. My god I am now exhausted, but certainly distracted during the day from my own countdown. Having crazy, crazy dreams, so the stress is still there, I'm just keeping it undercover when with her.

Love hearing the chuckles re:balls....a common theme of hilarity on another thread too, awhile back. Kiwimum, sooooo happy to hear about your ab swelling disappearing!!! Thanks for sharing that, makes me more confident this will turn out the way I hope. I'm thinking I won't have the same "identity issues" with the new boob as some of you. I had a unimx over 20 years ago, tried going one-sided flat for awhile, then got on the implant merry-go-round, so I really don't remember what a normal boob looks like, and certainly haven't had 2 similar ones for years.

Movie....sure hope you're feeling better. After all you've been through, I'm sure you're immune system is a bit whacked, no surprise you came down with a stomach bug.

Thinking of everyone, hoping for a good day for all. (((((((x)))))))))

Moviemaniac, hope you had a good night, and slept well. Take it easy, and don't forget to take your vitamins, hey? Sending energy vibes you way!

Traii, our kids enjoying times like Easter and Christmas makes us feel like kids again - so nice. Your DS must have had lots of energy after that big easter egg - lol. My kids are all grown and gone, but when they're home for Easter, they still expect the easter egg hunt, and get really upset if I don't organize it.

Nihahi, we don't care if you copy and paste, as long as we hear from you. Hope your daughter is settled in with you now. When I read of your struggles, I just realize every time how precious our children are to us, and that a good parent will always take care of a child, no matter the age of that child . . . your DD is so lucky to have you, Nihahi! Sincerely hoping she will turn the corner, and things will work out well for her. Strangely my uniboob has never bothered me, but I will be grateful to get that soft, natural boob in May, and lose this hard TE rock on my chest. How much more time to your surgery?

Edi, hear you about DH's and their advice. Mine is also big on that, and although the children don't want to hear it anymore, he keeps on giving it, then feels hurt if they don't heed it - lol. In his eyes they will never grow up. Hope your ED gets the crisis sorted out so building can continue. Such stress . . . not nice.

Off to the pool now, then organ practise for Sunday, then some cardio in the gym. Everybody else, have a wonderful day!

Another rollercoaster day. Planned on trying to relax and have a normal day, so was out and about doing some errands. Got a call from my daughter.....her doctor wants to see her, as something has shown up on the bloodwork she had done yesterday. So tomorrow, back we go to the doctor!!!

I am struggling between being relieved that "something" has shown up, so maybe we can get started on getting her "healthier", and being really, really worried that "SOMETHING" has shown up, that we don't want to have to deal with.

I am SOOOOOOO taking drugs to sleep tonight!!!!!!! Please keep Kristina in your thoughts ladies, she really does need something to go right!

Nihahi - thinking of you and your daughter

Everyone else - I have been reading lately but not posting, very tired. I had a great week away with my oldest son and family but, probably due to being a little immunosuppressed from rads, came down with a good bronchitis. To top it off my Mom fell again a week ago Sunday, at first we were told no fractures but now we are told that she re-fractured her right hip and pelvis. It doesn't look like she will be able to go back to the lodge.

I was last in contact with Benny on the weekend. She had her RO appt and it was hard on her, the docs always like to give all the reasons why they recommend the treatment they do but it can be scary to hear. Please keep remembering her - also her birthday is coming up on Monday - Edi - maybe you can whip up a cake for her :)

    Take care everyone

Hello all.....Wow. We all seem to have plenty on our plates......and much of it has nothing to do with the big "C"...... My stomach issues pale in comparison.

Nihahi, so sorry about your daughter's troubles. I can only imagine how hard this is to be dealing with right now- but I echo the suggestion presented that this may be a good move for your daughter right now. Being home with you and DH could really be grounding for her, and knowing that she can help you, may help her. You are BOTH in my thoughts.

(What's really weird is that even though I have not personally met any of you wonderful women, I find myself thinking about you all at times during my day. Guess that means that you don't have to know someone in "person" to feel friendship and a common bond.)

Websister, so sorry to hear about you poor mom. I care for my now 96 year old mother full-time, and falls are terrifyingly familiar to me. I will be keeping you and her in my thoughts as well. Thank you for the info on Benny.....I feel her original post brought me here, so I often wonder about her, and how she is. Sorry to hear things have not been good for her. I hope she finds her way back here-I gather strength from all of you, DAILY.

Edi-I look forward to your humorous post EVERY day.....love them! I think you need to send cakes over to this side of the Pond.....you are a doll! If I ever get to England, I am tracking you down.....you will open your door and see this really strange Yankee on your front step.....what will you do????? :-)

Traii and Dakota-love you young ladies with your kidlets.....I have so much respect for your bravery and your positivity. You are great examples for your kids, for sure!

Liefie, you are an inspiration to me to get my butt into gear and keep physically active and engaged. Thank you (Nihahi , that is true for you, as well!). Loved your description of DH and nursery shopping....I feel the same way about it as you do..... :-)

Scottiee, Carlads , Luvmy, and all....you also inspire me with your attitudes and examples.

Didn't mean to get so "emotional", but since my life has taken this turn, I am speaking out more about how I feel. Thank you all, for your examples, encouragement, attitudes, courage......you are all truly awesome.

    (((Hugs)))

    Namaste & God Bless- Jackie

Edi....your posts are so wonderful, I think you should be a professional "poster"...that way hubby would buy you a real computer and you wouldn't have to tuck it under Sergei! I must say, I don't understand the need to "hide away" the time spent on posting to the forum???? My hubby takes it as a time off for him, and just lets me type away. He knows I get alot of support and comfort and humour from it, and knows better than to interfer or "imply" differently.

Yep, the fatigue really sucks big time, and will likely last a while after your tx's are over, but it won't last forever, and has never taken on our "Edi".......How many more cx do you have? Might get easier when it is just rads. You don't exactly sit around with your feet up either, so don't think you're not being active and exercising. You just do it in everyday life.!!!!Sorry to hear about your daughters reno woes...sounds really stressful. Awkward too, with the co-worker connection!!!!

Movie....I totally get the emotional connection.....I will work hard at keeping those ongoing, when all the c**p of tx and sx are far behind us. I hope you're feeling better...you too Websister. Sorry to hear about Mom, but agree, she would not be safe in a lodge setup anymore. Any idea why she is falling? Confusion or weakness????

Off to take daughter to doc's soon.....cross those fingers!!!!!!!!!!

Awwww, Ninahi, hope DD's bloodwork shows nothing too serious. Poor girl needs a break, really. Also hope you slept well, pill-induced or not. Big hugs to you both! That picture is beautiful. Never realized Okotoks is so close to the Rockies.

Websister, I've been reading your blog. Sorry that you are sick and feel so fatiqued at the moment. Rest and more rest is probably all that will make it better. Hope your mom heals well from this last fall. Poor woman also needs a break like Nihahi's DD. I sincerely hope that Benny will come back here. It cannot be easy to be struggling with all these issues on your own. Thanks to her, we all found each other. Happy birthday, Benny! Big hugs to you and mom, Websister!

Moviemaniac, we love you too! Let out your feelings all you want - it is healthy.

To everyone who has a Facebook account and is willing, please consider voting for my daughter-in-law at this link - https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=439876616101239&set=a.439876609434573.1073741826.100002367149187&type=1&theater

We are trying to help her win a contest where she would receive a makeup and photo session as well as $500 worth of cosmetics. She is the best. At the age of 24 with no prior experience she took on the task of mothering her 1 1/2 year old niece and has now given her two brothers. She is an amazing Mom, we love her dearly.

    Thanks to all.

I will try to post more later when I am in the chemo chair getting my Herceptin.

Take care all, beautiful sunny day here - off to see my mother.

Websister, in this modern society where many girls are just out to party, drink and have a good time, your DIL sounds like a breath of fresh air. Not many 24-year olds would have taken on that humongous responsibiity of raising somebody else's child, and then doing such a good job. That little girl is so lucky to have her. She deserves a gold medal!

Dakota, I'm just glad your DS doesn't have a dent in his head! Boys will be boys . . .

Nihahi, still sending hugs and good vibes your way - hope they make it over the Rockies!

My DS and DD in Edmonton are driving down to Calgary later today to spend the Easter weekend with their youngest brother and his wife. DD's husband is off on a trip, so she's free to go with. I am feeling really teary today, because this is the first Easter weekend since we had kids that none of them are coming home. Really miss them so, so very much, and catch myself planning meals or outings for the family, then realize they will not be here. At least they will be together, and it is good to know that they want to visit with each other. DIL is a real sweetie-pie, and she and DD just love each other. Lots to be thankful for.

To help DH and me over this 'empty' feeling, we invited seven friends with kids for brunch tomorrow. Bought the kids Easter eggs, will be baking bread later today, and cook them a nice breakfast. And yes, will make dessert too, a lemon blueberry yoghurt cake. Scottiee, please don't read this! LOL. Will skype with the kids over the weekend. That should help mitigate the longing a little. Weather here is really good, no rain, and temperature around 14 degrees. It is supposed to stay like that. DH is happy - guess I will only see him when he gets hungry from working outside.

To Edi, Moviemaniac, Traii, Carla and everybody else, I wish you all a very happy, relaxed Easter weekend. Edi, I hope Johnny Cash will behave, and that 'The Ring of Fire' will not be heard - lol. Love you guys!

Hi Ladies....phew.....Kristina is severly low on her iron levels, (REALLY LOW), and is suspiciously close to being diabetic. So, now has been put on "uber" iron supplements, and has to see a nutritionist. As her diet really is pretty good, I'm not too convinced that a re-working of her foods is going to have much affect on the diabetic thing. Time will tell. I'm relieved, as I know it could have been much worse news, but can't get a read on her reaction. Also can't get her moving forward into the "put your damn stuff in some boxes already" activity, so likely this is going to go down to the wire, and I really wanted her here and all three of us "re-settled" into a new normal before my surgery.....I can dream, I guess!

Liefie, that photo was taken about 30 minutes drive from Okotoks. The mountains always look closer in the winter than they really are, but I sure don't mind!!!!!!! Good plan to compensate for not having your own kids around at Easter.

Dakota...hope you'e not still at the dentist!!!!!

Hey Traii, you've been quiet, so hoping all is good with you..I looked up Phillips Island...looks amazing!!!!!!

Movie....hope you're feeling better each day.
