Anyone tried "breast petals?"

I am not able to wear any kind of bra due to lymphadema and costchondritis. I usually wear a compression cami, but my lymphedema is not so bad that I need to wear them 24/7. As summer approaches there may be times I want to go without. I have a couple of sheer, low-cut tanks I like to wear, but there is no way I can wear them braless. I'm wondering if anyone has tried "breast petals"...they appear to be like band-aids you put over your nipples to conceal them. Wondering if they are comfortable, if they stay put, how many times you can use them before they lose their adhesive, and if they hurt like heck when you take them off.

Good question, cfdr!  Second time in two days this subject came up here--I'm intrigued too. KS1 posted about them on the "Shirt Design for Lymphedema" thread yesterday, so I hope she'll be along soon to share her experience.

I used them. Two different brands-and I can't remember the names. I will research this.

I bought the brand I liked best at Target. They stay on and are very comfortable. Removing them is not uncomfortable.

Obviously they don't provide support but they do an excellent job of covering the nipple.

The second brand I bought in the lingerie section of a department store. They were awful to remove and too thick. You could see the outlines.

Commando: low beams was the brand I liked. The adhesive on the gel covers was really messy.

The petals are really nice for summer tops.

The breast petals I've tried are made by Lingerie Solutions.  I like them fine other then that they are only a one time use and you only get 4 in a package.  I've tried another product that I can't find the name of that is a silicone I believe type product that is reusable for many times.  It is pretty sticky.  With some things I think you could see the outlines of these but it has been a while I will have to give it a try again.  Both of these products I purchased at Walmart.

Google "dimrs" for the silicone type.  I think Amazon sells them for around $25.  I've worn them to dim the high beams with clingy tops, and I have one pair that I've worn for about ten years.  And with that, I must tell a story...

I got home from work one hot day and pulled off my shirt, bra, and everything, and threw the lot on the sofa before I ran upstairs to change.  Later, my college-age son came home from class and unloaded his stuff onto the sofa as well.  The next morning I was hunting all over for my little silicone caps.  He said, "Mom, what are you looking for?"

    "I can't find my dimmers!"  I said.

Later that day, he called me from school.  "Hey, Mom, I found your dimmers," he said, "They were stuck to my chemistry book."

Please excuse typos ... Hand wrapped and using IPad ... I wore the breast petal under my axilla with a memoi short sleeve cami for about a week with great success and no irritation. HOWEVER, yesterday when I took off them off, I had a very angry looking red patch in the outline of the petal. It's even brighter looking this am, but I have slathered on calendula cream. ....

The breast petal was given to me by a LE therapistvand is especially designed for post-surgery/radiation use. On the shirt design thread that binney eluded to, I give a link to the particular brand. Ks1

The Maidenform version was sold at Kohl's last year for $12 a pair (wait until you get a 30% off coupon!). Silicone, self-adhesive, washable, reusable as described on the pink package, I found them comfortable and easy to peel off.

The info slip included inside suggested application of the "daisy" to clean, dry skin and limiting wear time to 8 hours, not overnight - really? I'm trying to picture that scenario. There is also a warning not to use on sun damaged or burned areas.

Laughed out loud at the dimmer story...

Thanks for all the input (and the chemistry book story!). Looking forward to trying these out myself!
